Chapter 4 - Start game again........KEY TO JUNGKOOK

The cozy atmosphere of Y/N's new home carried a tension that wasn't easily dismissed. As everyone settled into the living room, the weight of the conversation pulled them into a serious discussion, though they tried to offer support with occasional humor. Y/N had brought out snacks and sat quietly, her hands clasped together, listening as Jimin began.

Jimin: Y/N, are you sure you want to sell your parents' house? And Jungkook's parents— house?

V: Yeah, especially that house. It holds so many memories. Are you really ready to let it go?

Jennie: At least consider keeping it. Selling might feel like erasing everything you've shared.

Y/N looked down at her hands, her voice steady but tinged with sadness.

Y/N: I have to save the company. These properties are part of it, so I don't have a choice. As for our house... (She hesitated, her gaze flickering with old pain) Every time I see it, I get scared. It's a constant reminder of Jungkook, of what we had—and of the person he's become.

Suga: So, you've decided to run away. (His words were direct, cutting through her carefully built walls)

Y/N's head snapped up, eyes wide.

Y/N: I'm not running away! (She exhaled, her tone softening) I just... I don't want to face him. He's not the Jungkook I loved. He's someone else now.

The room fell silent for a moment before Jimin leaned forward, his voice gentle yet firm.

Jimin: Y/N, let's talk about this Jungkook—the one standing in front of you now. Forget the past for a second. Do you still love him?

Y/N bit her lip, her emotions brimming as she whispered,

Y/N: I love Jungkook. But not this version of him. I love my Jungkook, the one I knew.

Jennie placed a comforting hand on Y/N's shoulder.

Jennie: Then have faith in that love. You've brought him back once. You can do it again.

V: Exactly. You changed him in university days with your love, Y/N. You can change him again.

Y/N shook her head.

Y/N: That was different. I was lucky back then. This time... it feels impossible. He's not just a difficult person now—he's a mafia leader. A completely different man.

Jennie's voice grew more insistent.

Jennie: You weren't lucky, Y/N. It was fate, and the love you both shared. Fate isn't finished with you two yet.

Y/N laughed bitterly, the sound hollow.

Y/N: There's no love in this Jungkook's heart anymore. If he could, he'd probably fill it with bullets instead.

Suga crossed his arms, his tone firm.

Suga: He's not in his senses, Y/N. His memory is gone. That's not something he chose—it's something we can help him recover from.

Y/N's voice cracked, her vulnerability shining through.

Y/N: How? I can't even touch him. He listens to four people, and I'm not one of them.

Jimin: (leaned forward, curious ) Who are they?

Y/N: Sunghoon, his brother. And three others—older than Jungkook. I think they're his gang members, but I don't know their names.

Jimin: (shocked) Jungkook has a little brother?

Y/N: Not that younger. But he's... different from Jungkook. Kinder, in a way.

V perked up, an idea sparking in his mind.

V: What if we show them your marriage certificate? If they care about Jungkook, they might help us.

Jimin: (snapped his fingers) Exactly! Why didn't we think of that sooner?

Suga: Because you're dumb.

Jimin: Yah! I'm not dumb! I was just about to suggest it!

Everyone laughed at Jimin's indignant reaction, easing the tension in the room. For a brief moment, they felt like their old selves again.

V brought the conversation back.

V: Seriously, though. What do you all think? Could they help us?

Suga: (nodded) First, we need to meet them. The deal Jungkook wants to make with Y/N could be our way in.

Y/N sighed heavily, the weight of their expectations settling on her shoulders.

Y/N: If you all think it's worth a shot, I'll try. But if I fail...

Suga: (interrupted) We're not there yet. First, call him. Set up a meeting.

Jennie: (suddenly pulled a card from her pocket, handing it to Y/N) Take this. I think Jungkook left it at the hospital.

Y/N hesitated but took the card, staring at the number before dialing. Her hand trembled as the call connected.

A gruff voice answered.

???: Who's this?

Y/N's breath hitched.

Y/N: I-I need to talk to Jung—I mean, Mr. Jungkook.

The voice was skeptical.

???: And who are you?

Y/N: I'm Y/N. Please tell him it's important.

After a pause, the voice softened slightly.

???: Hold on.

V gestured for Y/N to put the call on speaker, and she complied.

Jungkook: Hello.

Hearing his voice, they all smiled instinctively—except Y/N. Her eyes remained fixed on the phone, trying to muster courage.

Y/N: Mr. Jungkook, it's me. Y/N.

A short chuckle came through the line.

Jungkook: Well, you finally decided to call me.

Y/N: I want to discuss the deal. Can you come to the company tomorrow?

Jungkook's voice turned commanding.

Jungkook: You set the day, but I'll set the time. Actually, no—I'll come tonight.

Y/N's jaw dropped at his audacity. She pointed at the phone in frustration, silently telling her friends, Look at him! So demanding!

Jimin gestured for her to agree, whispering,

Jimin: Just say okay.

Y/N: Fine. But you can't bring any guns.

Jungkook: (laughed darkly) Scared after our first meeting? Fine. No guns.

The call ended abruptly. Y/N slumped back into her seat, sighing deeply.

Suga: It's him. There's no doubt. That's Jungkook.

V: Alright, Y/N. Bring the marriage certificate to the meeting.

Y/N: Okay.

Jimin: (patted her hand gently) Just a little more courage, Y/N. We'll get our Jungkook back—and stop those people from controlling him.

Jennie smiled warmly, trying to lift the mood.

Jennie: Now, who's hungry? I know I am.

Y/N stood up, a faint smile on her lips.

Y/N: Wait here. I'll bring something to eat.

AT JUNGKOOK'S OFFICE AFTER Y/N'S PHONE CALL:

The room fell silent after the call ended, but Jungkook remained frozen in his seat, gripping the edge of the desk as a sharp, stabbing pain pierced through his head. His vision clouded with sudden white and dark flashes, and he barely managed to whisper,

Jungkook: Not again...

He tried to stand, his legs shaky beneath him, but his body gave out, forcing him back into his seat. Desperate to find relief, Jungkook reached toward the drawer where he kept his medicine. His trembling fingers grazed the table, knocking over a stack of files that scattered to the floor with a loud thud.

The sound was enough to draw attention.

A young woman rushed into the room, her expression a mix of concern and professionalism.

???: Boss, are you okay?" (she asked, her voice steady but laced with worry)

Jungkook weakly pointed to the drawer.

Jungkook: My medicine... (he managed to say through gritted teeth)

Without hesitation, the woman hurried to the drawer, pulled out the small bottle of pills, and handed it to him along with a glass of water she'd grabbed from a nearby counter. Jungkook quickly swallowed the medicine, leaning back as the pain began to subside. His breathing slowed, and he closed his eyes for a moment, letting the relief wash over him.

The woman crouched to pick up the fallen files, carefully placing them back on the table before standing and bowing. She turned to leave, but Jungkook's voice stopped her.

Jungkook: Rose. Stop.

She turned back, straightening her posture.

Rose: Yes, sir?

Jungkook's tone regained its usual sharpness, though his hand still gripped the armrest of his chair.

Jungkook: The weapons and drugs I ordered—when are they arriving?

Rose: Tomorrow morning, sir, (replied quickly) But... our warehouses are already at capacity. Where should we store them?

Jungkook's dark eyes locked onto hers.

Jungkook: I have a meeting tonight at JY Company. Inform the others, and make sure Sunghoon comes with me. After the meeting, I'll send you a location. Deliver the goods there.

Rose nodded, her tone resolute.

Rose: Understood, sir. (She turned and left the room without another word)

As the door clicked shut behind her, Jungkook leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees. He blinked hard, trying to shake off the lingering dizziness.

Jungkook: What's wrong with my head? This pain is getting worse day by day (he muttered under his breath)

But he had no time to dwell on it now. With a deep breath, Jungkook forced himself to focus, pulling a file toward him and flipping it open. The room was still, except for the soft scratch of his pen against paper and the faint hum of his thoughts, an endless whirl of plans, strategies, and the growing unease in his chest.

It was 10:30 AM when Y/N arrived at the company, clutching a file that contained her marriage certificate along with other documents. Her movements were deliberate but heavy with apprehension as she entered the meeting room, her friends Jimin, Jennie, V, and Suga trailing closely behind her. Once inside, Y/N instructed her secretary with a sharp tone.

Y/N: Tell everyone to leave the building and go home.

Her secretary hesitated, a flicker of concern flashing across their face.

???: What happened, Miss? Is everything alright?

Y/N sighed, lowering her voice.

Y/N: Don't ask. Just act. We're expecting a guest...(paused, muttering under her breath) More like a killer.

Understanding the gravity of the situation, the secretary nodded and hurried off.

Minutes later, Jungkook arrived, his presence imposing by his loyal members Jin, RM, J-Hope, and Rose. At the entrance, he stopped, his sharp gaze taking in the airly empty company. His lips curved into a small, knowing smile.

Jungkook: (to himself) Just as I expected.

The secretary led the group toward the meeting room, but Jungkook walked confidently ahead, as if he already knew every corner of the building.

When the door opened, the atmosphere in the room shifted. Y/N remained seated, her posture tense, but her friends turned, visibly startled by Jungkook's aura. His men followed suit, their cold expressions matching their leader's energy.

Secretary: Miss Y/N, the kil—I mean, guest is here.

Jungkook smirked at the slip but said nothing as he settled into a chair directly across from Y/N. The two locked eyes immediately, a silent storm brewing between them, but neither spoke.

Suga, Jimin, and V watched the gang members carefully, their expressions a mix of wariness and curiosity thinking that these three are the person's who are controlling Jungkook. . Suga's sharp eyes were fixed on RM, Jimin's on J-Hope, and V's on Jin. Jennie, meanwhile, couldn't tear her gaze away from Rose, her expression holding a strange mixture of recognition and shock.

The tension was palpable until the door opened again. Sunghoon entered, his casual demeanor contrasting with the charged atmosphere. He glanced at the frozen room, raising a brow.

Sunghoon: What's this? A staring contest? Without me?

The secretary shrugged helplessly, whispering,

???: They've been like this for a while.

Sunghoon tapped the table, breaking the spell. All eyes turned toward him as he placed a stack of files in front of Y/N.

Sunghoon: Let's start by introducing ourselves. I'm Sunghoon, Jungkook's younger brother.

Jungkook leaned back in his chair, his voice cool and controlled.

Jungkook: These are my members and big brothers—Jin, RM, and J-Hope. And that's Rose, who handles our product's transportation.

Y/N: (nodded curtly) These are my friends—more like my family—Jimin, Suga, V, and Jennie.

As Jungkook's sharp gaze swept over them, Y/N thought bitterly, At least try to recognize your friends, Jungkook.

Jungkook's voice cut through her thoughts, his tone cold yet mocking.

Jungkook: Let's get to know each other better. Jimin works here, Suga's your company's hacker, V's a boxing coach, and Jennie's a designer. Miss Y/N recently became CEO after tragically losing her husband. His name and identity seem to be... erased. Unfortunate, really.

After hearing Jungkook Jimin and V looked at each other thinking that this Jungkook is completelt different, Suga sighed and Y/N glanced at the file placed on the side table. Y/N's hands balled into fists under the table, her frustration barely contained.

Y/N: Thank you for the summary, (she said tersely) Yes, only the face resembles him. Thankfully, the rest does not.

Jungkook smirked, clearly enjoying her bitterness.

Jungkook: It's okay. We can start over. Our first meeting wasn't great, but maybe we can be friends.

Y/N ignored his mockery, gesturing to her secretary to pass her the file. With a deep breath, she began.

Y/N: Jeon Jungkook, hidden boss of the Golden Bullet Gang. Took over the gang about a year ago after his father's passing.

Jungkook smiled seeing that Y/N is also prepared.

Jin: (leaned forward) Let's move to the deal.

Jimin: (crossed his arms) First, tell us why you need a warehouse.

J-Hope: (responded bluntly) To store our products.

Jimin: (pressed, turning to Rose) What kind of products?

Rose opened her mouth to answer, but Jungkook raised a hand to stop her.

Jungkook: There's no need to explain.

V: (leaned forward, his tone sharp) We have a right to know.

Jungkook's jaw tightened, his eyes narrowing dangerously. Y/N quickly gestured for V to back down, sensing Jungkook's rising irritation.

RM: (stepped in smoothly) It's a shipment of weapons and drugs. Your company manufactures technical devices, so it'll be easy to hide them there. We only need the space for a year.

Sunghoon slid the contract toward Y/N. She glanced at her Jimin, V and others, who nodded subtly. They'd added conditions to the deal that Jungkook had agreed to—steps toward their goal of helping him remember.

Y/N signed the papers, extending her hand toward Jungkook. He took it, his grip firm and lingering just a moment too long. Their eyes met again, an unspoken challenge passing between them.

Jungkook: I'll send the goods tomorrow. My men will accompany the shipment.

As they released their handshake, the room seemed to collectively exhale. The game had officially begun. Both sides exchanged glances, announcing a start of new game.

One by one, Jungkook and his men filed out of the meeting room, their heavy presence leaving an air of unease behind. Y/N, however, stayed rooted in her seat, her mind racing.

Sunghoon was the last to turn toward the door. Just as he was about to step out, Y/N reached out and gently grasped his wrist. Her touch was light, but it was enough to make him pause. He glanced back, his brow lifting in mild curiosity.

She stepped closer to him, keeping her voice low to ensure no one else overheard.

Y/N: (whispering) Sunghoon, meet me here tomorrow.

Her words were calm, but there was a distinct edge of urgency in her tone. Sunghoon studied her for a moment, his sharp eyes assessing the meaning behind her request. A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips, as if he already understood.

Sunghoon: (softly) I'll be here. I know what you want to talk about.

Y/N nodded, her grip on his wrist loosening. She stepped back as Sunghoon turned and exited the room, leaving her alone in the now-quiet space.

She sank back into her chair, staring at the marriage certificate still resting on the table. Her thoughts were a whirlwind of memories and doubts. Sunghoon was the key to reaching Jungkook.

Author's pov: The man who was eavesdropping Y/N and her secretary that day was Jungkook's man.
