Olivia brings everybody back home. As they get there, King Douglas is waiting outside. His face relays some relief as he looks at his sons. He heads toward them with open arms, and Mukai steps away. The King embracingly wraps both sons in his arms, thanking goodness they are safe.
Mukai nervously: "Aren't you mad because I disobeyed you?"
Douglas warmly smiles: "You are my son, not a servant. ."
He then embraces his wife, thanking her for the timely resolution of the matter at hand. Moto and Sheu smile at the lovely scene as Najo smiles to herself, thinking of more words to insult Mukai later on.
As it were, Moto was about to leave. The King invites them inside the house. They enter.
King Douglas: "Thank you all; this was all bravery. Quick thinking that gave us time, and the distraction of the assassins made Olivia's intervention effective."
King Douglas: "All of you should be rewarded. Ginimbi's boy, name it."
Najo, clapping his hands: "I want a rematch against Mukai."
Mukai: "I can grant that myself."
King Douglas: "Very well."
The King looks at Sheu and asks what she wants. Without further ado, Sheu asks after the whereabouts of her father. The King summons one of his guards and assigns her to follow up on that mission. He tells Sheu that the guard herself will deliver the update.
King Douglas: "How about you, young man?"
Moto thinks, then responds: "I have a question I desperately need answered. How can peace be established?"
King Douglas sounds amused: "Why does a young mind bother himself with these matters?"
Moto: "It would mean everything to me."
King Douglas takes a deep breath: "It's a world too large to shift, and the people in it strive for different things in life. So that's impossible. We're only able to protect the ones sharing that bond with us. And that bond is what will lay down the ground for peace."
The King continues, "A King protects peace at the highest level, uniting a nation on the common ground of shared history. My duty is to protect the kingdom from outside influence, borrowing the people's strength to do it. But on your scale, you can start by protecting your friends."
Moto thinks, working his head around what the King has said. It sounds like the King says that it's impossible, which corroborates what Alicia had to say.
King Douglas: "You don't look satisfied." He squats to Moto's eye level. "Surround yourself with strong people, people with skills you lack." Moto looks around at the King's guards. "And if you keep at it, you might reach your goal."
These words of affirmation reinforce Moto's vision. He thanks the King with a sincere bow.
Meanwhile, as the portal closed on her, Alicia entered a chapel in gold and jade ornaments. Sighs from Alicia as she fixes her hair.
She suddenly hears a sad woman's voice behind her: "M-my brother is dead?"
Alicia turns to see a short nun with vintage black skin, large white eyes, and a forceful smile on her face. She had seen everything.
Irascibly, Alicia says, "Of all the places you could have sent me, Sifiso?"
Dawn mutters to herself, "At least he died serving the master's daughter. Yes, honorable."
A man's voice says, "What's honorable now?"
Two men walk in. Quickly, Dawn does a half bow.
Alicia looks away from them.
Dawn says, "L-lord Chandler, welcome."
Chandler laughs, "I told you to stop bowing to me, you'll get me in trouble."
Dawn says, "I-I insisted."
Chandler steps closer and guides her face up to his. She is flustered by his looks and bows again.
Chandler: "You seem distressed, dear. Are you alright?"
Dawn: "Don't concern yourself with me, my Lord. My problems are not important."
Alicia: "Oh, cut the crap. Her brother died on the job, and now I have to start over. You can go back to your sky land now."
The other man: "No respect at all."
Chandler: "Yes, children can be like that sometimes."
Alicia: "Mind your own business, Gir Hair."
Lightning crackles from the man's hands.
Chandler: "Calm down, Nawick. She's not worth it. Dawn, dear, open us a portal before Alicia does something stupid."
Dawn: "Right away."
Alicia, frustrated: "You're taking a stranger up there before me?"
Chandler smirks: "Go play with your sisters or something."
As they disappear into the portal, Alicia shouts: "I hope heaven's radiation kills you!"
The portal seals up.
Alicia: "Bastard."
Dawn: "So ungrateful."
Alicia: "Shut up. If you weren't one of the Holy Ten, I'd make you take your brother's place."
Dawn says nothing as Alicia exits.
