Kent stared at the miniature tower with excited eyes. As a movie director who had done some fictional movies, he knew all about "systems"—those enhanced, sentient intelligence in fantasy stories that help cultivators easily walk the path of immortality.
He had worked on movies and TV shows featuring such ideas, and personally, he was intrigued by the concept. So the moment he saw the tower and Vexthra confirmed it was something akin to a system, his excitement soared.
"Relax, Kent," Vexthra said, noticing his growing enthusiasm as he gazed at the miniature tower. "This isn't the type of system you're imagining, though it does contain some of what you'll need."
"What do you mean by that? Is it a system or not?" Kent asked, frowning at her cryptic words.
"It is indeed a system—a one-of-a-kind one, actually. But it's not exactly what you had in mind. Before you jump to conclusions, let me explain what this is. It will help you understand the nature of this system and the power I've prepared for your mission," Vexthra said.
Kent nodded. Although he wasn't thrilled with the uncertainty, he knew better than to make assumptions too soon. He focused, ready to hear what Vexthra had to say.
"First, you need to understand that this tower is the sole inheritance left by the most powerful being of the Primordial era—the Chaos Dragon. He was the first of his kind, and after him, there was no other Chaos Dragon.
"That being said, the tower itself is a legacy left by this dragon, in the hope of finding someone worthy of carrying on his power. Many tried to locate it, but none were fortunate enough to succeed.
"Now, before you ask how I got it—I didn't. It was entrusted to me two million years ago. And before you wonder what a legacy is, it's essentially the entire cultivation of knowledge and power of the Primordial Chaos Dragon, collected and prepared for a successor.
"The reason I said it's somewhat like a system is that, while the tower can't directly affect the laws of the world by, say, suppressing someone's cultivation base or trapping them, it instead grants you the power to do that yourself.
"In other words, without you as the medium, the system—or the tower—is essentially powerless.
"But don't be discouraged. The Tower is a Celestial-grade item that has been evolving over the past two million years. It holds far more than you could ever ask for.
"Techniques, weapons, treasures—you name it, the Tower has it all. So, while you might have expected a system that would do everything for you, this one will instead empower you to do everything yourself. You'll gain access to knowledge and resources that cultivators can only dream of.
"So, tell me, Kent, do you want to proceed with the mission?" Vexthra asked after she explained.
"Are you kidding me? Let's do it. I would have been disappointed to have a system that dictated my entire life," Kent said with a beaming smile. At least he got a say in how things went for him.
"Good. Now, before you carry on, there's one thing you should know about the Primordial Dragon. He was a bit of a pervert, so inheriting his legacy would make you the successor of a pervert—though a very powerful one, considering you'd be inheriting his bloodline and physique."
"'Pervert' is such a harsh word, don't you think, Vexthra? Where I come from, it's called a 'man of culture,'" Kent smiled, remembering some of the scripts he had written for his movies.
"So, what do I do next?" Kent asked. "I presume this legacy has everything that can help me become an alchemy legend."
"Indeed. But until you manage to inherit it, you'll never be able to use it," Vexthra said, looking at Kent with a worried expression... though, with her eyes full of hatred, it was hard to tell if it was worry or just pure hate.
"How do I do that?" Kent asked.
"Just drop your blood on it, and it will activate if you are worthy," Vexthra said.
Kent nodded, bit the tip of his index finger, and, when blood appeared, he gently dropped it on the tower. As soon as the blood landed, the room they were in began to shake.
"What is happening?" Kent asked in a panicked tone.
The air swirling around him was full of hatred and resentment making the situation even more alarming.
He felt fear.
But when he saw the frown on Vexthra's face, he grew even more worried. Even the goddess looked concerned. A mere mortal, what is expected of him?

Meanwhile, in the Celestial realm, in a large room, on a large bed, a handsome man with dark gray hair and a well-refined body opened his eyes surrounded by naked beauties of various races.
Humans, demons, elves, orcs, dragons—a variety of women lay passed out on the bed. The man suddenly turned in a certain direction.
"Looks like he has finally arrived," he smiled, handsomely yet with a hint of perversion.
"Very well, let's see whether you can handle this small task. If you are anything like before, it should be simple enough." He extended his hand, and a small orb of light flew from it into the far distance.
He smirked, then turned back to a cute pink nipple. With a quick motion, his lips wrapped around it. His hand drifted toward the nether region of a succubus, instantly filling the room with moans.
Back in the Realm of Hatred and Resentment, Kent and Vexthra were anxiously waiting when, suddenly, the shaking stopped. As soon as it did, the tower shrank and entered Kent's forehead. His eyes rolled back, sending him into an unconscious state.
It happened so fast that before Vexthra could react, he was already passed out.
A while later, he woke up. However, the moment he opened his eyes, a message flashed before him:

'That was a wild one, but on the bright side, I managed to inherit part of it. Now, all that's left is figuring out how I will get into her pants,' Kent thought shaking the dizziness from his eyes.
He stood up, only to see Vexthra staring at him as if wondering what had happened. Kent watched her closely but could only sigh. He just couldn't tell what was going on in her head or heart. The lady looked simply unreadable.
'Now, this is something to worry about. If she doesn't have any emotions besides hatred, how the hell am I, someone who's never even had a girlfriend, supposed to get into this woman's pants' Kent's mind spun in a whirlwind of thought.
