Chapter 36 - Chapter 36 Aron's Change

At the same time, Gyarados attacked again. It swung its massive body, surging waves around it as it rushed straight toward Combusken with tremendous force!

Waterfall!

"Combusken dodge, and then use Thunder Punch," Aron said calmly, stepping back subtly.

In Aron's mind, Gyarados was a peculiar Pokémon. Despite having "Dragon" in its name, it wasn't a Dragon-type. It was part Flying-type, yet it couldn't soar into the sky like most Flying Pokémon.

Hearing Aron's voice, Combusken jumped, easily evading Gyarados' attack. The spot where it had been standing was hit by Gyarados's huge body, causing the ground to collapse and spill dirt into the lake.

Combusken moved swiftly, leaping high above Gyarados's head. Its well-developed leg muscles allowed it to learn the Flying move Bounce, making it incredibly agile.

"Gyarr-a-dos!" The huge Pokémon roared furiously, shaking its head to throw Combusken off. But Combusken stood firm, electricity sparking in its fists as it unleashed a series of Thunder Punches onto Gyarados!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The punches came down like a storm, the lightning crackling, accompanied by loud roars. Pain quickly spread through Gyarados' body as it roared in anger, smashing its tail against the lake's surface, sending water splashing onto the shore.

Onlookers stared blankly at the scene, swallowing nervously.

Although they were born in a wealthy family, such scenes are rare. They only feel that the intermediate Gyarados is so terrifying, then what about the Elite and champions?

And,then there was Combusken, despite having type disadvantage,it was still suppressing gyarados.

They glanced at Aron, who stood quietly by the riverbank, and felt something had changed in him. The once book-focused Aron seemed… different.

"Rock Slide," Aron commanded calmly, catching the attention of the crowd.

Through recent training, Combusken had worked on learning moves of other types. Though its proficiency wasn't perfect, it could be surprising in crucial moments.

"Com-busken!"

Combusken responded, summoning large rocks out of thin air and hurling them down onto Gyarados.

Boom!!!

Gyarados, who was directly below, was unable to dodge in time, and was hit head-on by Rock, and numerous injuries appeared on its huge body, with traces of blood oozing out.

Then, it let out a desperate roar, its body swayed, and it fell heavily. The large body suddenly divided the lake into two, and the lake water poured towards both sides.

Combusken jumped high, then landed firmly on the lake shore, standing beside Aron.

On the shore of the lake, there was a dead silence.

After an unknown amount of time, a loud siren broke the silence. Everyone turned to see several vehicles approaching at high speed,it was the resort's security team.

"Young Master Paul, we're here, please give instructions?"

"Where's Gyarados?" the head security guard asked, looking at Paul.

Paul silently pointed toward the lake, where the gigantic Gyarados lay motionless.

---

"That's the situation," Paul said into his phone.

"I see," a calm male voice sounded from the other end. After a pause, the voice continued ,"Your classmates are not injured, are they?"

"No, Aron stepped in at the right time," Paul replied.

"Good. I'll be there soon. Meanwhile, organize people to investigate the bottom of the lake."

"Yes, father."

Paul hung up and looked at Aron, who was chatting with the other students. He quickly approached him with a sincere expression, "Aron, thank you this time, otherwise the consequences could have been disastrous."

He spoke sincerely, as he had taken full responsibility for the gathering. If anything had happened to any student, he wouldn't have escaped blame. After all, these students all came from influential families, and any mishap could lead to serious consequences.

Aron smiled and waved his hand, "Don't mention it, Paul. You could've handled that Gyarados yourself."

Luke, standing nearby, remarked, "My Dratini says otherwise."

Paul laughed, then asked, "Aron, how did you train Combusken so well? Are you thinking of switching to the battle department?"

As soon as these words came out, everyone present looked at Aron in unison, waiting for him to answer.Aron's Combusken is not just powerful, it's unbelievably powerful.

They knew how challenging it was to raise a Intermediate-level Pokémon before college

And most importantly, looking at the specific performance of this Combusken, there is a high probability that even among the intermediate levels,it is one of the strongest.

But they all knew that Aron had always shown little interest in Pokémon battles, and always focused on academic research.

Facing everyone's puzzled eyes, Aron thought for a moment, then slowly replied, "Recently, I've found that training Pokémon is quite interesting. I've been trying it out under guidance from my family, but I didn't expect it to be so effective."

Paul's mouth twitched slightly. How he wished his own Riolu could reach the next level "easily."

Luke, however, seemed to understand something. "No wonder you're making such quick progress."

After talking for a while longer, Paul asked, "Aron, what are you planning to do with this Gyarados?"

According to Trainer regulations, a wild Pokémon defeated solo could be captured or released at the Trainer's discretion. Although they were at a resort, Gyarados was considered a wild Pokémon.

Aron thought for a moment, glancing at Gyarados' form in the lake, and replied, "It's no use to me. You can take care of it."

He already had three Pokémon—Combusken, Beldum, and Ralts, all of whom needed his attention and Therefore he was not interested in having another Gyarados.

Aron has no idea of subduing the fourth Pokémon for the time being, at least until Combusken and Beldum have good strength, and Ralts can be alone.

Unfortunately, the current Ralts is just a charming little girl in Aron's arms all day long.

Of course it's also because this Gyarados's qualification is too low for him,who has three champion qualification Pokemon.

"Alright," Paul nodded. "I'll have them capture Gyarados, and then we'll have a team search the lakebed."

"No problem," Aron agreed.

One of the security guards stepped forward and captured Gyarados with a Poké Ball.

"Young Master Paul, we're ready to dive at any time," the security captain reported.

Beside him stood a muscular, blue Pokémon, Poliwrath.

Level: Lv35 (Advanced)]

"Captain Rao, thanks for your help," Paul said.

Captain Rao nodded, attaching a camera and a miniature walkie-talkie to Poliwrath.

"Go," he directed.

Everyone stood behind captain Rao, staring at the screen in his hand, which showed the picture captured by the sports camera.

Poliwrath dove into the lake and swam deeper. The screen showed a clear underwater view. As it went further down, a dark hole appeared on the left of the screen.

"Wait,What's that?" Aron murmured, noticing the shadow.

Everyone turned to see a mysterious, dark cave entrance.

Poliwrath apparently also noticed something was wrong, and it swam towards the entrance of the cave, and it didn't stop until it reached the front of the cave.

Visibility inside is very low, only pitch black can be seen.

"Looks like that's where Gyarados came from," Rao observed.

Turning to Paul, he suggested, "Young Master Paul, this place is strange,we'll need a remote submersible if you want to explore this cave."

Paul nodded. "My father's on his way; we'll wait for his decision."

Captain Rao recalled Poliwrath, and not long after, Paul's father arrived. After checking on the students, he thanked Aron personally and ordered the resort to close until the lake's hidden dangers were resolved.

"Sorry for the scare, everyone," Paul said, bowing.

"No worries; this was a unique experience!"

"Aron took down a Gyarados—this story's going to last a year!"

"Hahaha, when the investigation of the cave entrance at the bottom of the lake has results, you must tell us."

Paul laughed, promising to share any findings from the cave exploration.

Finally, Paul approached Aron, handing him an ornate wooden box. "my father asked me to give you this thing, thank you for your help this time."

"Father specifically said that ordinary money is useless to you, but this thing is useful to Combusken. It is a gift from my father,Please accept it."

After a brief hesitation, Aron took the box with a smile. "Thank you very much."
