Chapter 29 - The legion of Demons

The four legions of celestial demons gathered in the Evil Domain, a spatial world void of life and a secret place for demons to hold their meetings. A mountain of jagged black edges stretched to the heavens, serving as the location for the gathering. Hundreds of bat-like demons flew through the air, their screeches echoing as the legions assembled.

High above the mountain, a deep opening led into a grand ballroom. At its center stood a table crafted from the skulls of a thousand humans. The skull table, glistening white, was four feet tall and ten feet in diameter.

At each end of the table stood the four demons: Orobas, Leviathan, Lilith, and Agares.

Lilith, towering at seven feet, had the appearance of a woman. Her slim, shapely figure and breasts were encased in black, skull-like armor. Her great kudu horns were aflame, adding to her fearsome visage. Her face was that of a beautiful woman, with blood-red, glistening eyes and fangs that protruded from her mouth. Her long black hair flowed down to her waist. In her hands, she held an eight-foot-long spear with a sharp, unyielding tip, intricately carved in the image of the Evil One.

Leviathan, also seven feet tall, had the face of a serpent with rows of pointed teeth. Its bald head and body seemed to swirl with an eerie blend of darkness and water, giving it an otherworldly presence.

Agares, on the other hand, had the body of a bull and the face of a lion, adorned with massive kudu horns that jutted out from its head. Its bat-like wings spanned two meters, completing its fearsome form.

Lastly, there was Orobas, the Prince of the North of the Earth. A shroud of darkness surrounded it, obscuring its features, with only its glowing red eyes visible, radiating a sense of menace.

An air of foreboding hung heavy in the room as the four demons prepared for their dark council.

"I called this meeting because of a certain mortal," Lilith, the Princess of the East of the Earth, began. Her voice carried a hissing quality, sharp and serpentine.

"And what mortal might that be, for you to summon us from our domains?" Agares asked, its voice resonating with the roar of a lion.

"A mortal by the name of Hiraku," Lilith replied, her tone laced with malice. "From my investigation, he has sent hundreds of demons to the underworld. In some cases, he has even slain two higher demons—Celestial demons, to be precise. I wouldn't have gathered us here if this little mortal hadn't hurt and taunted the demon realm." She chuckled almost mockingly as she spoke, fiddling with her spear and brushing a finger along its sharp tip.

"A mere mortal? By 'kill,' do you mean he annihilated our kind—a celestial demon?" Leviathan's voice rose, rage echoing like the roaring sea through the hall.

"All the yelling and anger won't solve anything," Lilith retorted, slamming her spear forcefully into the ground. "We need to act. We'll cut off his mortal head and feast on it."

"Before we act," Orobas interjected, his voice calm and swaying like the wind, "have you all asked yourselves how a mere mortal managed to exorcise demons without us—the legion of demons—knowing?"

They stared at one another, their expressions dark as they pondered Orobas's words.

"Well," Lilith finally said, her tone sharpening, "he is the great grandson of a banished angel."

The demons all looked at each other, surprised and shocked.

"This means the banished angel hid its great-grandson's activities with its powers," Leviathan spoke, a note of curiosity in its voice.

"Yes," Orobas replied. "A century ago, two angels fell in love with mortal women. They committed the forbidden sin of having intercourse with them. I annihilated both women with a curse, but I never knew they had offspring before their deaths."

"Isn't it obvious that the Holy One shielded your mind from the truth? That must be why they managed to hide it for over a century," Lilith remarked with a huffed breath, her tone laced with impatience as she glared at Orobas.

"Why didn't you kill the fallen angels with your power? You could have done so with ease," Agares asked, its wings twitching uncontrollably.

Orobas answered calmly, "You may not know—or might have forgotten—but those angels were celestial beings of the First Order. Two of them were the most powerful, surpassing others in power and might. Even though one of them was banished to the underworld, their strength remained unmatched."

"Be he human or not, I will bring his head to this table, and we will feast on it!" Lilith screeched bitterly, her voice echoing through the cavernous hall.

"We will all devour him, but patience is required," Orobas countered. "According to the Elder Scroll, the prophecy of the end of the world will soon be revealed. When those two angels committed the forbidden sin, the Elder Scroll appeared in the heavens. We must wait to see if sacrificing those two will truly bring about the birth of the apocalypse."

"But the longer we wait, the stronger this half-human, half-angel becomes!" Leviathan roared, its voice like crashing waves. It slammed its hand on the skull table,Causing it to tremble. " He is a threat to the demon realm and must be eliminated!"

"Well then, we will cast a vote. Those who want the mortal's head on this skull table know the procedure," Lilith announced. The demons stared at one another, observing each other carefully, weighing their decisions.

Lilith pinched the tip of her right index finger, and a drop of black blood trailed down from it. She proceeded to mark the head of one of the skulls on the table. Leviathan glared at Orobas and grunted before using the sharp edge of its right talon to prick its own finger. A trail of black blood flowed as it marked the head of a skull on the table. Agares followed suit without hesitation.

Orobas scoffed in dismay at their decision.

"It is settled, then," Lilith declared. "Now, we all know we are bound by law. Only one member of the Legion of Demons can attack a state or country at a time, or one member can grant permission to another to act. The four of us cannot act as one. So, Orobas, I request permission from your lordship to destroy the mortal Hiraku and bring his head to this table." She banged her spear against the ground, her voice filled with resolve.

"I do not agree with this, but since the vote has been cast on the Table of Submission, I must accept," Orobas replied, his voice swaying like the air itself. "But beware—this boy's life may be the key to our domination of the Earth Realm."

"If we are to dominate this world, it won't be because of a mere mortal," Lilith retorted. "Once I bring his head, if you find it to be of use, I will not object." She broke into a hysterical, demonic laugh before raising her spear.

A dark portal materialized behind her, swirling with malevolent energy. Without another word, Lilith stepped through and disappeared into the darkness.
