Chapter 135 - Chapter 136: Praise the Soul King!

Shyness?!

Although it was fleeting, that delicate blush was unmistakably captured by Makoto. His breath instinctively quickened.

What made it even more striking was Unohana's demeanor—her face still bore a faint chill and indifference, yet her gaze gradually softened into its usual gentleness. It created an extraordinary juxtaposition, a fusion of ice and fire. That fleeting trace of shyness only amplified her charm, elevating it to an overwhelming degree.

Moreover, their bodies were pressed tightly together...

Unlike the earlier dire encounter earlier where they had to draw blades at each other, this time, as Unohana seemed to have stepped out of her bloodlust, Makoto found his own tension relaxing mentally, even as his body unconsciously tightened, making every sensation more pronounced.

What kind of exquisite, indescribable curves were these?!

Her frame concealed such grand mysteries...

Her waist was impossibly slender...

Praise the Soul King!

It was He who created the Soul Society, allowing someone as captivating as Unohana to exist in this world!

"I... gurgle gurgle... am very... gurgle gurgle..."

Makoto attempted to say something, but the violent motion from earlier had further torn the wound in his throat. The injury now severely hampered his ability to speak, and blood gushed uncontrollably from his mouth, rendering him completely unable to answer Unohana.

Yet, as though sensing the change...

In this moment, silence spoke louder than words. Makoto's actions seemed to offer a far more direct and vivid response to Unohana's earlier query, momentarily freezing her composed and elegant expression.

Then, narrowing her eyes slightly, Unohana spoke in her gentle tone,

"Makoto, it seems the earlier fight wasn't enough to satisfy you. Still this spirited? Shall I help ease your... impulses from combat a little more?"

Makoto's pupils shrank. He had no doubt that her "easing" would result in a far more permanent resolution.

At that moment, both Makoto and Unohana's gazes simultaneously turned in the same direction...

The spiritual pressure erupting from Yamamoto had surged to an even more terrifying level, while that of Zaraki was rapidly weakening.

What was even more critical was that, now that Unohana's dangerous killing intent had subsided, Makoto could focus on his spiritual senses. To his shock, he realized that the "Seeds of the Forest" within Shihoin Yoruichi and Kensei Muguruma were now located at the Twelfth Division barracks.

Makoto quickly unraveled the massive wooden bindings that had entwined him and Unohana, extracting her Zanpakuto and dark blade from his body. As he swiftly healed his injuries, he began relaying his findings to Unohana.

"You're saying this could all be the work of Aizen Sosuke?" Unohana asked, her brow slightly furrowed.

"Highly likely..."

Makoto nodded, carefully omitting details of his memories from his previous life, his unique abilities, and his exchanges with Soya Azashiro. Instead, he recounted only his encounter with Aizen and Tosen under suspicious circumstances while returning to the Fourth Division barracks for reinforcements.

In truth, after witnessing Aizen's composed demeanor firsthand, Makoto had abandoned hope of exposing him fully through this incident.

It was clear Aizen had meticulously prepared to free himself of any suspicion, leaving no evidence of his involvement. On the contrary, it was Urahara Kisuke, who had yet to appear, that was likely being framed as the scapegoat.

Thus, Makoto shared his observations with Unohana primarily to raise her vigilance against Aizen.

Furthermore, he understood that his actions had already caused deviations in Aizen's plans. Whether future events would unfold as he remembered was now uncertain.

Unohana, after a moment of contemplation, seemed to realize something as well. She said,

"If what you witnessed is accurate, then Aizen Sosuke's Zanpakuto abilities are far beyond what he disclosed in the public. It is likely a pure illusion-type Zanpakuto, and one even more stronger than Captain Hirako's."

She paused, looking towards Makoto.

"Now that you mention it, I recall Aizen demonstrating his Zanpakuto abilities during his promotion to Vice-captain in front of several captains and Vice-captains..."

"Afterward, he frequently offered to personally mentor Shinigami across different divisions in Zanjutsu(Swordsmanship) and combat techniques."

"This man has likely been laying the groundwork for a very long time. However, without concrete evidence, neither Captain-Commander Yamamoto nor Central 46 would be inclined to act on mere speculation."

With that, Unohana casually gathered her scattered black hair, tying it into a braid that fell across her chest, concealing the glaring scar below her collarbone and her astonishing figure.

At that moment, Unohana had seemingly returned to her usual gentle and elegant demeanor. Stepping forward, she stood on her tiptoes and lightly ruffled Makoto's hair. In a soft voice, she said,

"Makoto, I'll leave the management of the Fourth Division to you for a while."

Makoto instinctively nodded, but then abruptly realized the implications of her words. "Wait, sensei, what do you mean by that?"

Unohana didn't answer. Instead, she sheathed her Zanpakuto, dispelling her Bankai: Minazuki.

Instantly, the blood-soaked Minazuki realm dissipated, revealing the utterly ravaged remains of the Fourth Division barracks.

Not far from them, Yamamoto stood bare-chested, his robust physique and long silver beard swaying gently in the wind. In his hand, he held a barely conscious, thoroughly beaten Kenpachi Zaraki.

"Come with me, Makoto," Unohana said gently, hiding her hands within her sleeves as she began walking towards Yamamoto.

Though perplexed, Makoto followed closely behind.

Yamamoto cast a solemn glance at Unohana, carefully studying her condition. Upon confirming that she was no different from her usual self, a fleeting relief mixed with doubt crossed his eyes.

Then, his gaze shifted to Makoto, who followed behind her. For the first time in nearly a millennium, someone other than Kenpachi Zaraki had emerged alive from Unohana's Minazuki—and unlike Kenpachi, who had barely clung to life, Makoto had walked out on his own two feet.
