Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Treatment

However, despite Makoto's smile appearing harmless and gentle, in Soi Fon's eyes, it resembled more of an uncle bear trying to sneakily lick honey — completely untrustworthy!

Makoto also noticed that his gaze might have been a bit too anxious, accidentally exposing some of his inner thoughts.

'Hmm... it seems I really need a pair of glasses...'

At this moment,Makoto suddenly realized the importance of glasses — not only could they enhance his appearance and make him seem more refined and harmless, but they could also conceal slight fluctuations in his gaze.

However, when he had just realized that the person standing before him was Soi Fon, who would become the future Second Division Captain, his heart couldn't help but feel a sense of joy.

After all, if he could leave a "seed of the forest" inside a captain-level Shinigami body in advance, the rewards would undoubtedly be immense, far greater than leaving one in an ordinary Shinigami body.

Moreover, cultivating a good relationship with the future 2nd Division Captain in advance would only bring benefits, and no harm.

Although Makoto had already firmly clung to the beautiful leg of the Fourth Division Captain, Unohana Retsu, as an adult, how could he settle for just one option?

Coincidentally, after accumulating seeds for more than two months, he had already left most of them on over fifty burly men from the Eleventh Division. There were still some left in stock, so he wouldn't find himself in the awkward position of facing the delicate Soi Fon without any seeds.

However, at this moment, Makoto also understood that he couldn't appear too aggressive, or else he might scare away the young Soi Fon, who was still in her teenage years.

Thus, Makoto merely nodded slightly at Soi Fon, without pressing her further. He calmly turned around and walked back into the office.

Soi Fon hesitated for a few seconds before walking into the office with a determined expression, as if facing death itself.

However, as soon as she entered, she immediately remembered to open the door as wide as possible, allowing a clear view of the office from the hallway.

This scene made the corner of Makoto's mouth twitch faintly.

Soi Fon... does she really think of me as some creepy uncle?

After all, despite our apparent age difference, we're essentially the same age. What's there to fear — am I really going to eat you?

At most... I just want to plant a few seeds in fertile soil.

sigh... The medical relationships in the Gotei 13 are truly lacking in basic trust.

Makoto couldn't help but quietly lament the poor doctor-patient relationship in the Seireitei, but his expression remained calm and gentle as he turned to the now seated Soi Fon and asked, "Name."

"Soi Fon."

"Gender... female. You belong to the Second Division, right?"

"Yes."

"How old are you?"

"Forty-six."

At this point, Makoto's movements instinctively paused, and he couldn't help but look up at Soi Fon, who appeared so youthful and vibrant.

"Is... something wrong?" Soi Fon asked nervously.

"No..." Makoto answered in a slightly awkward tone, though inwardly, he was still adjusting to the incongruity.

By normal human standards, Soi Fon looked no older than sixteen at most.

However, despite being born in the Soul Society, Soi Fon's actual age was already forty-six.

Yet, even so, Soi Fon's physique still hadn't quite reached full maturity.

In other words, it's not easy to know if a person is 'legal' in the Soul Society

With a slight pause, Makoto calmed his thoughts before asking again.

"May I ask where you feel unwell?"

However, Makoto's question left Soi Fon somewhat flustered.

Right, I'm not sick…

For a moment, Fon stammered, unsure of how to respond.

After all, Fon knew very well that if she told a lie, Makoto, a disciple of the Fourth Division captain, would easily see through it. This would certainly hinder Fon's efforts in gathering information.

Makoto's eyes narrowed slightly, almost instantly sensing something was amiss.

No matter how much one might try to hide their ailments, it wouldn't make sense to be unable to say anything at all. And… Soi Fon… Second Division, Stealth Force…

Makoto hadn't forgotten that the Second Division's one of the responsibilities was also monitoring the internal affairs of the Seireitei.

Could this be an investigation? Or perhaps a test?

Subconsciously, Makoto's fingers, hidden beneath the table, lightly tapped in thought. His expression, however, showed no sign of suspicion.

Finally, under Makoto's patient gaze, Soi Fon half-heartedly pointed to several parts of her body, describing in vague terms.

"In any case, I feel occasional pain here, and sometimes discomfort there…"

"I see. How frequently do these pains occur?" Makoto asked.

"Maybe once every couple of days."

"Hmm, well then, let me conduct a brief examination. Please lie down on that bed over there, if you don't mind?" Makoto asked gently.

Soi Fon turned her gaze to the simple bed, noticing some damp stains at the edges—likely sweat, though it was hard to tell for sure.

Ultimately, Fon glanced back at the still-open door, then forced a calm expression as she replied, "I… I can."

"Mm…"

As Makoto gestured for Soi Fon to lie down, he calmly donned a new pair of white gloves.

However, just as Makoto touched Soi Fon's abdomen, following the area she had mentioned, he felt her entire body tense up. Even the ten exposed, delicate toes were rigid with tension.

"Relax…"

Makoto spoke softly, his gaze clear and gentle as he looked at Soi Fon. "Is this the spot? Does it hurt when I massage it like this?"

Fon bit her lower lip, sensing an unusual feeling in her abdomen. Unbidden, she remembered a scene involving Captain Yoruichi's teasing, her mind briefly going blank. Instinctively, she answered.

"No… no…"

"No pain? Not even a slight sensation?"

Makoto asked, a slight furrow in his brow.

"There… there is a feeling, but… no, wait, no, there isn't…" Fon answered with a trembling voice.

A hint of suspicion flashed in Senju Makoto's eyes as he continued his examination, moving on to other areas she had mentioned.

Finally, Makoto, observing Soi Fon as she lay face down on the bed, her slender figure fully exposed, was almost certain of one thing.

That was, Fon was absolutely faking her illness. Based on the medical knowledge passed down in the Soul Society, it was clear that she was in perfect health—her spiritual body was stable, with no detectable abnormalities or deficiencies. Her spiritual energy flowed normally, and her spiritual pressure was balanced. Her internal meridians showed no signs of damage.

The only slight issue was some fatigue-induced wear on a few joints and muscles, and perhaps a minor delay in her physical development.
