I guess it all comes with having a time ability. Though, I didn't expect that a passive ability could be so loud and alert. It all started a few days after my parents were introduced to the Union of Echo.
The Union of Echo is a top secret research organization founded by the five Deities. It is based in Arsenal Island of the Echo Nexus. At six months old, my parents found out I was terribly ill, with a rare probably unheard of disease. They took me to different doctors who told them there was no hope. One day, a man approached and told them about Echo, claiming they could find a cure to my disease. Though reluctant at first, they accepted.
But as always, there was a catch. I had to work for them. And just like that, a new echo agent was found.
"Mr. and Mrs. Flynn, your son is in safe hands." said the man as he took the two year old me in his hands.
I still remember that moment, when I last saw my parents. Since that day, I have known no other life.
I don't know how, but every other echo agent I've ever worked with has a rare ability or powerful skill. Almost as if only the most powerful and skilled get this mysterious disease.
After induction into the Union of Echo at age 13…
Flashback_ Arsenal Isalnd
"All nine of you are now echo agents and will be trained to be the most formidable solo agents. You will do nothing but train, all day, everyday…"
For some reason, I couldn't concentrate as the instructor spoke. A sudden tension had caught me. I had this feeling that something or someone unnormal had entered the facility. Someone who wasn't supposed to be there, to exist. The feeling got stronger and stronger with each passing second. It started becoming unbearable. The others beside me started giving me weird looks.
'What's going on with my body? I can't even move.'
Something was telling me to attack this being, but my conscience knew I couldn't win. So in the end, my body couldn't move.
I could feel beads of sweat roll down my head. I couldn't get my now widened eyes to stop staring at the sliding metal doors, waiting to see who or what was going to walk in. I could almost hear the footsteps approaching the soundproof room.
"Without further adieu, I would like to welcome a special guest who would like to speak to you all."
The doors opened.
"He is one of the most formidable opponents in battle and won his place among the Deities,"
In walked a man I never thought I would meet in person.
"He is…"
His green eyes were sharp and cold, giving the whole room a tense mood. One look and you felt as if he knew all there is to know about you. Well, that's because he does.
"The Almighty Time Deity."
…
And so on that day, as I was speaking to that receptionist at the QP Towers of Arsenal Island,
"Do you have a reservation with Instructor Eddy?"
I suddenly felt it. That feeling that had never come again, even when I'm in the same room with the Time Deity. I guessed it was a one time thing. But on that usual day, the feeling, though weaker, flooded my body. It wasn't the Deity. It was a new found threat.
The first time I felt it, I couldn't do anything. I was weak.
But now, there was nothing stopping me. I was going to do exactly what my instincts told me.
'Attack, and don't hold back.'
