Akira let the words sink in. So, wait. Basically, he was going to be reborn as a human?
"Wait, wait, wait. That's like getting a demotion, isn't it?"
Napat laughed. Hotrā smiled. "You could say that. If he reincarnates, he will be useless, at least for some time. With no god powers nor god memories, he will just be a vessel ready to be molded."
"Then why would he reincarnate? He would be a bigger headache to protect than any human!"
Hotrā chuckled. "Only until he gets his memories, which we will lock up along with his powers."
"Why? I don't understand!"
Hotrā thought about how to explain it to her in terms she could comprehend.
"What would happen if you threw an atomic bomb inside a wooden cabin?"
"The cabin would turn to dust."
"That's what happens when you throw that much power into a human body; it vaporizes. No being can handle Napat's spirit, which is the consciousness of all beings in this universe. It is the universe itself.
And the human in question is a newborn. It will turn to stardust in an instant."
Akira started to understand things better.
"So, by locking his powers, you are protecting his body."
"Indeed, and giving it time to train hard and handle vast amounts of power and mana. And a newborn cannot handle the thoughts of Napat. Imagine trying to listen to a million voices at the same time, each one talking to you in a different language, giving you different instructions"
Akira mentally translated that to herself. "Ah... the brain would explode. He needs to condition the human mind."
Hotrā nodded. "Exactly!"
Akira continued, "And with every new skill he learns and memory he unlocks, he becomes powerful and aligns himself to his goal."
Hotrā nodded. "Something like that. So, by the time he meets the Asura, he is in a position to fight him. Even then, he would only be able to use barely a percent of his power, the power equivalent to a sphere of demigods."
Napat shook his head. "No, I won't. That much, even if it could be handled by the body, will destroy an entire planet. I should not be able to fight more than three at a time."
Hotrā looked surprised. "Do you want your power to be completely sealed?"
"Hotrā, the fight has to be fair. Even with the Asura, I will fight as a human, nothing more."
There was silence.
Akira took some time to process everything had she heard.
Did that mean Napat couldn't fight more than a hundred spheres at a time? But how much was a sphere, anyway?
Napat chuckled.
Sorn gritted his teeth. "That is the entire power within the universe, you insolent human."
Eight billion. That is a sphere. Akira heard a voice in her head. It was the voice of Mitra. Thank you, she thought back. Mitra was indeed kind.
Wait, what? Eight billion demigods in a human body? Could a human body handle that much power?
"If it merges with the universe, using the ultimate technique, but it is no easy feat."
No wonder the dragon child was scary. Without Napat's power, he could fight on par with a demigod, fully trained. And with Napat's power, he could face an entire planet. He was not just scary; he was terrifying.
