A boy is standing on the rooftop of a 22-story building. He slowly walks and stands on the edge... And he jumps. His body gets covered in blood. The people around get terrified seeing his condition. Soon, an ambulance comes and takes him to the government hospital. As he reaches the hospital, he is kept on a ventilator, and treated with basic treatments. The heart rate is dropping and in no time a boy, the same age as the patient comes in. He speaks to the doctor, '' I want this boy to be saved. No matter what you do.'' The doctor replies,'' We don't have the equipment here, so...''. ''Do whatever... I just want the result.'' Then the doctor transfers the patient to Apollo Hospital, the best hospital in the whole city.
The receptionist there asked the boy to sign the consent form. The boy comes and signs the letter. The receptionist asked the boy his name and his relation to the patient. The boy says,'' My name is Parth Kumar and I am his brother.'' The patient was operated in the ICU with the best surgeons. Parth was standing outside the operation theatre. He says,'' Why... You damn fool!''. The operation was successful and the patient was kept under observation.
During the operation, the patient's conscious mind says, ''What do you think about hitting one's lowest point? How will it feel to know that all you did during your childhood was just a waste of time? To get a proper idea of why I am saying this, you all need to take a review on my life'
From the time I was born, my parents as well as my elders told me about increasing completion whether it is in rank gaining or in sports. Our education systems as well as our society see from the same perspective. Society wants everyone to be perfect. And if anyone made a mistake, then it would not take time to mock him/her or her parents. Society would not miss any chance to challenge the one who made a mistake.
When I was in my learning years, I was good in academics as well as in sports. Seeing this, my parents started to develop some expectations. I was interested in football but our education system sees the grades. It is not easy to be good
at both at the same time. And being raised in a middle-class family, my parents can afford only one coaching class. So, I had to study on my own. As I proceeded in my school years, my grade was falling as well. Seeing this, my parents became angry and stopped my one last love that is football.
This didn't help either. My grades were falling like a crash in shares. In my secondary education years, my grades had dropped down to such a rank that they couldn't be improved. At such time, I thought my friends would help me and my grades would eventually improve. But this was all a beautiful dream. The friends whom I asked for help, stopped talking to me from that day. I understand from this that no one is friendly, but everyone pulls others back so that they can achieve no.1 rank. During my board year, I had just passed in prelims and was scared to take any exam. My parents were so angry that they started to Give me nightmares that if I scored less than 85 percent then they would kick me out of the house. This put even more pressure on me. Due to pressure, I was not able to study properly and my scary nightmares came true. I scored 79% on boards and my parents stopped talking to me.
Yet they forced me to choose science over commerce, which was my specialty. My parents sent me to a hostel for my eleventh, twelfth, and Neet preparation. After coming to campus, I tried to make friends. And I made some special ones. In which Parth Kumar, was dearest to me. I considered him as my brother. Parth is better than me in every field whether it is in looks, studies, knowledge, etc. Also, he was rich.
Parth normally didn't talk with anyone except me. So, people were jealous of our friendship. We were in the same college, as well as the same coaching class. I was weak in biology and Parth had a speciality in it. So, once he came into my hostel to teach me biology. There he felt that no one except him came into my room. From that day, we used to study in my room only. In the blink of an eye, our semesters came and we were scoring quite nicely. We gradually improve on our way. Finally, it was January this year, that our practice test was taken to see how much we all were prepared. In that test, I scored the most, followed by Parth. So, the people who were jealous of me first tried to poison my ears against Parth. But They miserably fail to do so. Then they tried to do the same to Parth, saying that I used him and now, I am going to talk rudely to him. At first, Parth didn't believe them, but soon Parth fell right into the trap. Soon, the last semester's examination dates were given out. So, as always, I called Parth to study together. But this time, he didn't show up. I met him the next day and said, ''Oi, Parth, where were you yesterday? I called you so that we could study but you didn't come... Is everything okay?''. He replied,'' Yeah. ...yeah ... Everything is fine now... My blindness has been removed....''. I continued,'' Blindness!?... What are you talking about?''. Parth left the classroom itself and This was the first time that he went somewhere leaving me back.
From that day on, Parth didn't talk to me.
Now, it was the month of April, and my parents visited me for, the first time in 2 whole freaking years. I thought that at last, they would feel the importance of me. But I was wrong. They came to meet me with a letter. They gave me the letter and I opened it. As soon as I read it, I felt that the ground on which I was standing was shaking. Because the letter contained one freaking condition, the condition stated that if I am not able to pass Neet in my first attempt, then they would disown me and remove my existence from their life. I was begging for mercy from my parents. But they just didn't listen to me. They left the place and me, both in devastating condition.
Due to this, I developed anxiety. And the only solution for my anxiety was my best friend, Parth who was not ready to see me for once. Yet with such hard paths, I attempt Neet. I was trembling for my result. Because my whole life depended on it. In no time, June had come. And it was time to check my results. With such dangerous situations, I... I... I scored 540 in Neet on my first attempt. I got tears in my eyes seeing the results of my hard work. I called my parents and told them my result. I heard no reply from them so I thought they might be so happy that their voice was gone. The call disconnected soon. I was really happy that day. But the next day, I received a last letter from my parents. As I read the letter, I was covered in grief. The letter said that my parents were disowning me because I didn't stand up to their expectations. There was a stamp paper connected to the letter. the results of my hard work. I tried to talk to my parents but they didn't pick up my call. I wrote a letter to them, tried every means so that I could talk to them. But it was all in vain. Soon, I lost my only purpose to carry on. So, the next day, I wrote 2 letters, one to my parents and one to Parth. The letter I wrote stated that my dearest wishes for them and they may always be happy. I posted the letters. This was three days ago.
Today, I woke up in the early morning and went to the temple thinking that it was the last time. I look at the idol of God. Then I took the blessing of the priest. The priest blessed me saying that may I get a happy life ahead. I replied that this would be my last time coming here. The priest said,'' dear child, we don't have control over everything. Only God has control. If he wished that you would come here again then you surely will.'' The priest smiled saying that. I exited from the temple.
Later, I went to my campus, remembering all the memories I experienced. Later I went to my room, packed all my stuff, and left the room. I called a taxi and departed from there. I stopped the taxi on a bridge and threw all my stuff in the water. From there I kept walking until I reached the tallest building. I went in, got up to the terrace, and....''
The patient becomes conscious and sees himself lying on a stretcher with Parth sitting beside him. Parth, in half asleep says,'' Thank God you are safe''. ''How come You are here?'' Says the boy weakly. Parth says'' I went to college to get my leaving certificate. There I saw some guys laughing. Those were the same guys who poisoned our friendship. I overheard their conversation and I understood how wrong I was. I tried to call you but you didn't pick up. And when I went to your room, I saw it was locked. I asked everyone about your whereabouts but none knew. Then I went home and there I saw your letter. When I read your letter, I understood what you were you were up to. So, I started to check all the nearby hospitals thinking I might find you. And the rest is pretty simple.''
'' why did you save me? Let me die... Let me die'' says the boy crying. Parth angrily says,'' You mad or what Arjun? You took this huge step without thinking huh...''.'' you have no right to say anything, after all I have gone through'' says Arjun. '' I know everything that happened to you. And I have taken the necessary steps towards it'' says Parth. '' what steps?'' Arjun asks. Parth then replies '' I have informed my dad about everything. And he said he would take care of all your educational expenses. And since you are aged over 18 years, you can make your own decisions without anybody's permission. And I will personally say that your parents never try to establish a communication with you. Everything is under control.'' Arjun weakly says,'' Why are you doing so much for me.'' Parth says,'' Because I am your friend. I am doing this because I wasn't there when you needed me the most. Sorry, my dear brother.'' As Arjun hears these words of Parth, he starts to cry.
A few months later, Arjun fully recovered from his injuries. Parth's family treated Arjun like a member of their family. Over the years, he becomes a cardiologist and Parth becomes a neurologist. Arjun organizes camps all over the world, giving counselling sessions to children so that they don't try to take their lives.
