Gu Yuena's seemingly simple words, "It's been a long time, how have you been?" immediately caught the attention of the Rakshasa God, Youlian.
A long time? How have you been?
The Rakshasa God, You Lian, was puzzled. When had she ever encountered someone she knew in this lower realm?
With this question lingering in her heart, You Lian's sharp gaze shifted to Gu Yuena, her expression serious, inquisitive, and laden with confusion.
Simultaneously, the Rakshasa God unleashed her vast, ocean-like spiritual power to investigate Gu Yuena. Yet what she discovered shook her to the core.
In that instant, everything became clear to the Rakshasa God. Gu Yuena's cryptic words were rooted in one undeniable truth—before her stood the Silver Dragon King, the very being she had allowed to escape all those years ago!
Composing herself with a faint smile curling at the corners of her lips, You Lian finally responded, her tone laced with subtle amusement.
"It's been a long time, indeed. How have you been?"
After a brief pause, a sudden thought seemed to strike her. She added, "Silver Dragon King, when I let you go back then, I truly believed I would never see you again. Who would've thought that here, in this desolate place, we'd cross paths once more? Fate truly has a sense of humor."
Hearing her words, Gu Yuena nodded thoughtfully before responding with a hint of mockery, "So? Does this mean you regret it?"
To this, You Lian shook her head, a sly smile on her face as she retorted, "Regret? Not quite. But tell me, aren't you worried that I might inform the God Realm of your whereabouts? If the Five God Kings send someone down, capturing you would be inevitable."
Unfazed by You Lian's teasing, Gu Yuena smirked and countered, "The Five God Kings? What are they? Nothing more than ants."
As she spoke, her radiant eyes shifted to the man standing beside her—Lu Yunzhou. With a hint of pride, she began introducing him, her voice brimming with confidence.
"Let me introduce you to the man beside me. Not only does he wield the essence of the three Dragon Kings, but his cultivation level has also reached the pinnacle of the Golden Core stage, rivaling that of a God King. Moreover, his arsenal of unfathomable techniques could crush the Five God Kings without a second thought. Even the Dragon God of old wouldn't last a single exchange against him."
As she spoke, a trace of pride and arrogance surfaced on Gu Yuena's flawless face.
Listening to her praises, Lu Yunzhou chuckled lightly and murmured, "It's rare to hear you compliment me. You've really outdone yourself this time. But let's be honest, aren't you just using me as a shield?"
Caught off guard by Lu Yunzhou's bluntness, Gu Yuena's pride quickly gave way to embarrassment. She hastily replied, "Consider it a favor. I'll make it up to you later."
"Oh? And how would you possibly compensate me? Yourself?"
Without waiting for her response, Lu Yunzhou released the full pressure of his Golden Core perfection stage cultivation. In an instant, his overwhelming aura surged forward, enveloping the Rakshasa God in an unstoppable wave.
Faced with this ocean-like pressure, You Lian's eyes widened as she quickly mobilized all her divine power to resist. Yet despite her efforts, she could only hold out briefly before being forced out of the air and plummeting to the ground.
Seeing her about to crash, Lu Yunzhou retracted his aura at the last moment, sparing her from an undignified fall.
As she steadied herself, memories of the encounter replayed in her mind, leaving You Lian utterly shaken. Lu Yunzhou's power wasn't just comparable to the Five God Kings—it far surpassed them. Any one of them would be crushed like an insect in his presence.
Understanding this, You Lian bowed slightly, her tone filled with respect and deference. "You Lian greets the senior. Thank you for your guidance. I am deeply honored."
Lu Yunzhou responded with a casual nod before asking, "Tell me, what brings you to Douluo Continent? I was under the impression that gods rarely descended unless absolutely necessary."
Knowing that there was no point in hiding the truth, You Lian replied honestly, "To answer senior, a powerful energy fluctuation recently spread across numerous lower realms, even reaching the God Realm. My descent to this world is to trace the source of that energy. I came to the Slaughter City to leverage my influence here in hopes of locating it."
Hearing this, Lu Yunzhou murmured to himself, "I see." After a brief pause, he added, "In that case, I won't keep you any longer."
Relieved by his words, You Lian felt a weight lift from her shoulders. The pressure of standing in the presence of such a supreme being had been suffocating.
Not wanting to provoke any change in his decision, she quickly said, "Farewell, senior."
"Farewell."
With that, Lu Yunzhou and Gu Yuena departed from the Slaughter City, taking with them a treasure trove of celestial herbs, soul bones, exotic beast cores, and three origin pearls of the Killing God Domain.
Only after their departure did You Lian finally let out a long sigh of relief.
"This monster has finally left."
Muttering softly to herself, You Lian's thoughts turned to a perplexing question—one she couldn't quite figure out.
The question was simple: how on earth did Gu Yuena end up getting involved with Lu Yunzhou?
Who was Gu Yuena? She was none other than the Silver Dragon King!
As for Lu Yunzhou, although You Lian didn't know his full identity, she did know one thing—he was someone who could stand as an equal to the God Kings themselves.
It was precisely because of this realization that You Lian concluded that whatever brought these two together, it couldn't possibly bode well. And You Lian? She lived for things that spelled trouble.
"I hope the two of you bring me a big enough surprise!"
As she reflected on the odd pairing of Lu Yunzhou and Gu Yuena, a subtle expression of joyful anticipation appeared on You Lian's cold and exquisite face.
The surprises that delighted You Lian, however, were not like those of ordinary people.
Her kind of surprise... was decidedly inhuman.
She loved violence, relished war, and delighted in slaughter.
If not, she wouldn't have let the Silver Dragon King escape back then, leaving the God Realm with such a monumental threat to contend with.
