Theo's POV
Time flew by when you're happy, but time crawled when you're sad.
After my wedding, Claire vanished like a bubble. The last time I saw her, she was crying. I knew she was hurt. I wanted to hug her then. When I was kissing Keia, her sister, Claire was the one on my mind. I missed her so damn much, but I couldn't do anything because I had a responsibility to her sister.
Keia is due to give birth in a few weeks. I'm so excited, I can't wait to see our child.
But all my dreams vanished and my sacrifices were in vain when I heard Keia and her mother talking.
"So what are you going to do? Theo will be suspicious if you haven't shown him a baby in the next few weeks," I heard my mother say, which surprised me. All this time, her pregnancy was fake.
"Easy peasy, Mom! I'll adopt a newborn baby. Theo won't suspect anything because he's so eager for a child," I heard Keia say.
"You're telling me your husband is a fool," my mother said, laughing.
"Where's that Claire adoption of yours now? I heard she gave birth, right?" Keia said, making my heart pound. Could that be my child?
"I don't care! But I think she's in Cebu. She's a laundress there and cleans toilets," my mother said, and now they both laughed.
Tears escaped my eyes as I heard them. The girl I love doesn't deserve this, she's so kind to go through all this.
"I heard enough. I will file for an annulment, we're breaking up, Keia," I said, shocking them.
"No, hon. Let me explain, I only did that because I love you so much. Tell me anything, I'll do it. Please don't leave me, if you need to impregnate me so you won't leave, go ahead, just please don't leave me," she pleaded, kneeling in front of me.
"I was drunk back then, but you took advantage of my situation to pretend to be Claire and sleep with me. I'm disgusted by you. Please keep this in mind. I never loved you and I will never love you," I said and left her.
Claire's POV
I was busy cleaning the house because I had just put my son, Cleo, to sleep when I heard a knock on the door. I quickly opened it.
"T-Theo?" I said in surprise.
After many months, I finally saw him again. I missed him, so without thinking, I hugged him tight. Then I felt something wet on my shoulder. Wait, is he crying?
"Love, I'm sorry. I'm such a fool. Your sister wasn't really pregnant. Hurt me now, I deserve it. Because I hurt the woman I love so much. I'm sorry, I hope you can forgive me," he said, which surprised me. All this time, it was all a lie.
"Hush, Theo! It's alright. I can't forgive you because you didn't do anything wrong," I said, and I started to cry too.
"I love you, Claire, and I will always love you," he uttered and kissed me, but I pushed him away.
"This is wrong, Theo, you're married. You have a wife," I said.
"We're married in law, but in my heart, you are my wife," he uttered and kissed me again. I kissed him back, passionately, sending shivers down both of our spines.
He was about to undress me when we heard our son cry. So I laughed.
"Is that our son?" he asked, and I nodded.
We both went to our son's room and he happily played with him. I was very happy and content right now. I couldn't ask for more. Finally, the man I love is mine again.
A month had passed. Theo proposed to me again. He said after his annulment with my sister, we would get married right away.
Our son wasn't here because he was at Theo's mother's house. She wanted to make up for the days she was absent from her grandson.
We're in the bedroom right now, making love. The doctor said it was okay, since it had been a few months since I gave birth. So the only sound you could hear in the room was our moans, like tigers eager to devour each other. Until we were tired and fell asleep.
I thought everything would be okay and settled. But when I opened my eyes, I saw my older sister watching us sleep. I forgot to close the door, sh!t.
I woke Theo up in panic.
"Finally, after a very long time. We're together again. You animals, you're treacherous!" she said angrily.
"What, Keia, can you please leave us alone. It's over, we're done. I won't be fooled again," Theo said.
"For the last time, I'm giving you a choice, hon. Me or your sister?" she said authoritatively.
"Don't you understand, Keia, that I don't feel anything for you at all. I love Claire so much, and she's the only woman I will love until I die," he said and kissed me on the lips.
But we were shocked when my sister pulled out a knife.
"You snake! If I'm not happy with you, Theo, you shouldn't be happy with my sister either," she said, and she ran towards me. She was about to stab me when Theo blocked her.
Then all I saw was blood pouring from his mouth.
