Chapter 6 - Training day 1

Chapter 7

"What do you mean by that?"

"You're a fire elemental, huh?" The instructor's expression grew more disappointed.

"I heard you were banished from your family because of your useless spells. Can't even damage your target, can you?"

Aris clenched his fists, clearly restraining himself. After a pause, he finally spoke, his voice sharp,

"Sir, why are you bringing up this topic here?"

The instructor smirked slightly.

"Alright then, let's see if we can improve your spell."

Although he seemed to be offering help, there was a hint of skepticism in his tone. Aris hesitated, unsure of how to respond.

They moved to the training area where a practice dummy stood in place. The instructor gestured at it and ordered Aris,

"Create a spell and aim for the dummy."

Aris complied, summoning his mana. His family bloodline gifted him with a massive mana circuit, but as he unleashed the spell, it failed to reach the target.

"This is the main problem." The instructor muttered under his breath, seemingly deep in thought.

He walked closer to Aris and said firmly,

"Make another spell."

Aris hesitated but nodded, summoning his mana once more.

"Now," the instructor added, "shrink the input. Reduce the size of the spell and feed it mana slowly."

Confused, Aris asked,

"What do you mean, sir?"

"I said, make it smaller and give it mana gradually!" the instructor barked, glaring at him.

Still hesitant and unsure, Aris attempted to follow the instructions. He tried to compress his spell, channeling the mana slowly, but something went wrong. The spell exploded in his hands, triggering a massive blast that threw him backward.

"Aris!" Ravena screamed, rushing toward the site of the explosion. I followed her closely.

When we reached the spot, we saw the instructor had already pulled Aris to safety.

"Sir Armir, what did you do to him?" Ravena demanded furiously, her voice trembling.

The instructor glanced briefly at Ravena before turning his attention back to Aris, observing him closely.

Ravena clenched her fists and stepped forward, ready to grab the instructor's arm, but I stopped her.

"Don't do anything rash," I whispered to her.

"Are you seriously telling me to just leave this?" she hissed, her voice barely controlled.

I was just as angry, but for now, understanding what had happened was the priority.

"Let me handle this," I said, stepping forward.

The instructor remained fixed on Aris, scrutinizing him.

"Sir, is there a problem?" I asked cautiously.

The instructor turned to me and said,

"Anon."

"Yes, sir?"

"How long have you known Aris?" he asked, still watching Aris closely.

"It's been four years, sir," I replied, taken aback by the question.

"Have you ever seen him cause an explosion like this before?" he asked again.

"No, sir. Never," I answered honestly. I couldn't understand what he was implying.

"May I ask, sir… was this explosion caused by Aris himself?"

The instructor didn't answer immediately but instead gave a vague command.

"Take him to a healer and let him rest. Training is over for today."

He turned to leave, but I raised my voice,

"Sir, is he the one who caused the explosion?"

The instructor paused, glanced back at me, and said coldly,

"Ask that idiot when he wakes up."

With that, he walked away.
