Violet POV
I stare at the screen in front of me and decide to see if anyone will talk to me. I walk out of my house and everyone nearby quickly moved away from me and some even left the area I should've known I was still too weak. What was I thinking? Even the evaluator can't measure my strength. I should've known since no one summoned me after all this time. I watch as spirits completely ignore one of the request summoning portals. Doesn't that mean whoever is on the other side is also weak? A week spirit should be should be with the human right?
I walk over to the portal to see a boy who looks like he's being chased as tears run down his cheek all his mana into a quickly drawn magic circle. He keeps looking around and I see a group of men looking in the bushes probably trying to find the teenager who is covering his mouth while hiding in a bush not far from where his pursuers are. I glance around to make sure no one is watching before stepping through. I can finally form a contract for the first time. I've mastered every spell in every book the spirit has so I can help this boy. I feel a tingling sensation over my body as I enter the human world, I see relief flood, the boys eyes when I appear in front of him. To avoid being seen by the men, I crouch next to the boy.
"I'll help you if you promise to treat me like a human. My condition is that I'll stay by you for the rest of your life as you're only contracted spirit and you will treat me like any normal human. I will help you out of your current situation and do anything you want to a certain extent if you agree to these terms yell my name, Violet Rosaria Lilac." I whisper so only the boy hears me. I smile at the boy as he blinks a few times, probably skeptical of the conditions.
"Violet Rosaria Lilac!" The boy yells, catching the attention of the men who were getting closer to his location. Smirk as the seal on my powers that was placed when I got here weakens. One last step in the contract is complete. I lean down and peck him on the lips before standing. When I glanced down at the boy, his face is red and his hand is over his mouth. I have no time to think about his reaction as the men get closer.
I feel my mana spread over my entire body. I put a hand out and a long black snake shakes for my palm landing on one of the men. It bites the man he falls to the ground paralyzed. The snake then proceeds by all of the men, but the one that is tied up, the man who didn't get put to sleep stares at me as if trying to figure something out. "Contractor is that man with you?" I ask quietly so the man can't hear me.
The boy looks at the man and relief spread over his face. "Yes he's with me." The boy says as he stands up. The boy hurries to tie the man as my snake slithers back over to me. The snake makes its way up my body before disappearing into my hand. By the time the snake is gone, the two guys have walked over completely.I Ignore them as I look around for the first time since I got here. The forest is beautiful.
I hear the man clear his throat and turned to look at him. "I'll just get straight to the point. What do you want?" The man asks, looking at me like I'm his enemy.
"What do you mean by that?" I ask, crossing my arms as I stare at the man in confusion. I really don't know what he means. The man just stares at me like I'm an imbecile before answering my question.
"No one helps a stranger for no reason. What do you intend to gain from helping His Highness?" The man asks guardedly. My eyes widen slightly when I hear that term of address. I have a bad feeling about this. If I'm right there's a good reason no one wanted to answer his summons.
"There is nothing he can give me that I don't already have but that's between me and him. Who are you to interfere?" I say coldly as I stare at the man, already beginning to dislike him.
"Okay! We already made a deal so let's reintroduce ourselves. I am Suncrest Empires first prince, Leon Mason Suncrest, nice to meet you." The boy says with an awkward smile and a stiff formal bow. I suddenly feel as though I was slapped in the face.
"Princess Violet Rosaria Lilac, only daughter of the Spirit King and first Spirit recognized as Gods successor. Currently in a life contract with prince Leon Mason Suncrest. A contract I am going to be in so much trouble for making." I say starting to panic as I am not supposed to be contracted to a Suncrest royal. I did however gain something from my contract. The moment my contract was formed, my mind was flooded with information and forgotten memories.
When I was first awoken a man with beautiful gold hair and shining silver eyes appeared before me seemingly out of nowhere. I knew instinctively the moment that I saw him that he was the one and only true god. The strongest being to ever exist but I could somehow tell that he was in a weakened state.
He told me that he was slowly dying and he had this been feeding me his power little by little as he wanted someone to be strong enough take his place and protect the realms when he becomes powerless. For those of the upper-realm losing your power is akin to dying. God originally started to feed me energy so he could raise his own child. The Spirit kinda were just beings created using Gods mana but they were never part of his bloodline. Unlike me who was originally a crystal made of his blood and powers.
The day the dragon bled was a day he was too busy to see me but he knew it would only take a tiny bit more power to awaken me. As dragons were already made from his power their blood was strong enough to start my awakening. Over the long years as a life was formed from the crystal God continued to provide energy every day to strengthen me in hopes of making me strong enough to take his position.
When I finally came into existence he taught me everything he could. He taught me to use my powers. I had many pet divine beasts who had been given to me by my father and some who I had created. After many years God had finally given me 99% of his power but I longed to live as a spirit. My father promised me that he would never make me do anything I didn't wish so J wiped my own memories and made sure they would only come back once I formed a contract with a human.
I'm snapped out of my thoughts by the sound of a man's laughter. "Lying to royalty is a crime punishable by death even for a spirit." The man says looking at me like I'm stupid.
"A spirit is unable to lie to their contractor about their identity." I say truthfully as I look at the man mockingly.
"She isn't lying. A spirit really can't lie about who they are without their contractors permission and I didn't allow her to lie." Leon says looking at the man. "This is Dan, he's here to monitor me in the challenge for succession. I have to find as many people as I can who will back me up even without knowing my identity. Out of all the princes whoever has the most supporters in 5 years will be the next Emperor. We aren't allowed to reveal who we are until the 5 years is up. We have to live as commoners, even earning our own money." Lean explains as we walk through the forest.towards the nearest city.
"How do you plan to gain ally's?" I ask curiously as I float along next to them lazily.
"We're going to become adventurers and recruit party members who will become my supporters." He says jumping over a large pit in the ground.
"It does sound like a good plan. So, what will my role be?" I ask in excitement. This sounds like so much fun to me. Probably because I was only ever in a cave or my house my entire life.
"What can you do?" Dan asks challengingly as if he doesn't quite believe that I could be useful.
"Everything?" I say tilting my head as I look at him with interest. The two guys stop in their tracks to stare blankly at me before Dan speaks again.
"Did I hear you correctly? I'm pretty sure you just said you can do everything." Dan says in disbelief as he stares at me with wide eyes.
"Yup. I'm Gods successor after all. If I couldn't do everything he can what kind of daughter would I be? Father had been teaching me for hundreds of years before I came here." I say as if it's the most obvious thing in the world. My eyes fill with longing as I remember all the time I spent with dad leading bows, swords, and magic. All that time I spent practicing martial arts and hidden weapons.
There's one thing I don't understand. If you're Gods successor, why did you make a contract with His Highness?" Dan asks curiously as he watches me float lazily in the air.
"I-" I pause thinking. "I can't say why I made a contract with Leon specifically but the reason I made a contract in the first place is because I share my fathers dream of living on earth. Even if it's only for a little while I still wanted to live among humans.Father can't simply change how the Upper-realm works but he can slowly change things for my sake. God is supposed to be perfect so if anyone found out he had his own desires the realm would fall into chaos. I on the other hand at a spirit, I can change my mind and make stupid decisions. I'm allowed to have flaws as I was never required to be a perfect being. It isn't weird for even God to die eventually so me becoming his heiress is normal. Father was created by the first god and he was taught to be a perfect existence but since father has said many times that a perfect being should never exist it's normal for me as his heiress and daughter to have flaws." I explain sadly as I think of how long my father has suffered trying to be a perfect existence. It was never possible for something to exist without flaws. Most people just don't understand that. By the time I finish my explanation we have arrived at the city not giving Dan and Leon time to think about what I said.
If your curious me and Leon made a new contact. It's pretty boring so I won't go into detail but we stuck to similar conditions. Leon will simply treat me as a regular human girl when we are around others but when we're alone we can talk as contractor and spirit. This arrangement lasts until I decide to reveal my identity as a spirit or until Leon takes the throne as emperor. Whichever comes first. The rest is just a bunch of details on what is and isn't okay to say around others.
I pull out an identification card as we approach the gate. It looks exactly like a real one as I made it with magic. I used my real name and we created a backstory so we would all be on the same page if asked.
The story is that I am the last living member of a fallen race of beastmen known as the High Elves who went extinct hundreds of years ago. Elves have a lifespan of nearly 1000 years and High Elves are said to live much longer. I am the daughter of the king who was kidnapped before the war that wiped out the elf race. The story is believable as High Elves are said to have pointed ears and soft transparent wings. They look very similar to high-ranking spirits like me so it's easy to pretend to be one. The only difference is that spirits can never lose their wings but High Elves can. Their wings hold the power of wind so if they are absorbed by a wind magician it improves their control of the wind power. Obviously we are saying my wings were clipped a long time ago. We're saying I'm searching for lost members of my race and hoping to take revenge on those that killed my sister who was taken with me when I was kidnapped. Of course everything is a lie as I don't have a sister and the last elf kind didn't have any children but only God and me could know that as I personally helped my father guide them to the path to heaven. The elf royals were considered vips so dad personally wanted to guide them. High Elves are known to be experts in everything they try to do so it only makes sense that I would be unnaturally powerful. The guard at the gate seems surprised when he sees my race listed on the card but when he sees my slightly pointed ears and tiny fangs he looks at me in pity before letting us in.
I don't pay too much attention to the other people around as me, Dan, and Leon walk into the adventurers guild. Just as I am the most beautiful girl in the spirit realm I am also the most beautiful girl in the adventurers guild. To them I must look like an Angel.
