As I'm walking down the street wearing a short black dress and bunny ears I feel a tap on my shoulder making me turn around. My mind goes blank as I stare at the tall handsome man who tapped me. I can feel a strong pull towards him and I instinctively want to throw myself into his arms but I manage to control myself as I realize that he doesn't know. "Sorry to bother you but do you happen to know the way to Lilly's Diner?" The man asks apologetically as he looks at me with a polite smile.
"Ye-yes it's actually on the other side of town though. If you go that way until for a while you'll see the a candy shop called Sweet Tooth. Just past that is an intersection. You'll want to turn right and then go left at the 5th turn. It'll be just past a repair shop called Fix It. If you can't find it you can go to a bar called Baby Bunny. Everyone knows where it is so you can just ask for directions and someone will show you the way. There's are bartender called Bailey. Just tell her that Bunny sent you and she'll get someone to take you to Lilly's." I explain the best I can. I'm not great at explainations especially when I'm nervous but I try not to make it obvious.
"Does that mean you're name is Bunny?" He asks with a smile as he looks at my rabbit ears.
"Ah.. um. Please don't think I'm strange! I was just drinking with some friends. Baby Bunny is a girl's best friend these have an alarm in case anything happens to a girl on her way home. It's usually for when someone goes home drunk but a lot of girls in town like to wear them at night for safety." I say blushing as I take my rabbit ears off flustered.
"You didn't answer my question. My name is Chase. It's nice to meet you." He says putting out his hand for a handshake. I put the ears back on my head before hesitantly putting my hand on his to shake it.
"M-my name is Blaze but everyone calls me Bunny." I say softly in embarrassment as I gently shake his hand.
"Is there a story to that?" He asks curiously pulling his hand back after a moment.
"When I was little I was really timid and my best friend Bailey told me I looked like a frightened rabbit every time we met. At first started calling me Bunny as a way to tease me but it kind of stuck and now everyone calls me that." I explain with a small shrug.
"I actually find that kind of funny. Thanks for the directions Blaze. Also thanks for the story. I would love to stay and talk with you but I have to meet someone at the diner soon. I hope to run into you again." Chase says happily before running off. I can tell he's in a hurry to get to the diner so I don't stop him.
"No problem I'm glad I can help. Remember Baby Bunny if you can't find it." I say with a smile as I wave gently before walking in the opposite direction towards my house.
-
The next day I'm sitting on a bar stool as Bailey dries glasses waiting for the opening time of the bar.
"Yesterday I met my mate." I say slowly. Bailey pauses and snaps her head in my direction before putting down the cup in her hand and running over to sit next to me waiting to hear the gossip.
"How did it go? Is he hot? How far did you go? What's his name? What's his species?" She fires questions at me one after another not giving me a chance to talk. I wait for a full minute before she calms down and stops asking.
"His name is Chase. Yes he's hot. I don't know what he is because I was too anxious to get a good sniff. He doesn't know that we're mates yet. What if he decides he doesn't want me when he finds out what I am? I'm scared and I don't know what to do. Should I release my scent?" I ask fidgeting nervously.
"Girl I love you like a sister but I can't make that choice for you. I can only say follow your heart. Come tell me. What is your heart telling you?" She asks holding my hands in hers as she looks into my eyes.
"It's telling me to suck his dick." I say immediately looking at her in all seriousness.
"Babe I said heart not hormones." Bailey says holding her forehead in exasperation.
"Is there a difference?" I ask laughing.
"God I should have seen this coming. I can't believe I was worried about you." She says pretending to be angry.
"Come on Bebe you should know me better than that." I say with a cheeky grin.
"This is important be serious." She says kicking me gently.
"I am being serious. I'm wearing clothes aren't I?" I say proudly as pat my chest making my boobs jiggle.
"That.... That's a good point." She says looking at my chest that's twice as big as hers. She knows me well enough to know that I'm telling the truth. Usually when I want to mess around with her and the bar is closed I strip to my underwear as soon as I come in. Of course it's the same with her house. I'm not big on clothes. I feel uncomfortable if I'm wearing anything so I try to wear as little as possible when I can. At home I walk around fully exposed.
"So what should I do? I need advice." I say looking at her pleadingly.
"I say release your scent and if he rejects you then he isn't worth it. I know several guys who are totally in love with you Bunny. Just say the word and at least 20 guys will come running. I'm here for you. If you really don't want to let him know then I say just find a chosen mate and pretend you never met. As long as he doesn't realize the bond you can have a chosen mate and your original bond will break. I can't make the choice for you but I say it's best to be honest with him. If you try to hide it and one day he finds out I promise that you'll get hurt. Trust me on that. We aren't sure if he'll care about what you are. Tell you what. If he dares to hurt your feelings after you let him know then I'll personally kill him in his sleep." She says gently. I agree that the. Best choice is to tell the truth but it makes me worry that he won't like me because of my species. This place is more accepting as a fairy town but most outsiders don't like my kind. They believe us to be evil.
"Thank you sister. You really helped me this time." I say walking over to give her a huge hug.
"No problem Babe. We've been besties for years so of course I would help you when you need me." She says hugging me back before slowly letting go. After a short goodbye I run out of the bar wanting to look for my mate. Coincidentally as soon as I open the door I spot Chase walking down the street with another man.
"Chase!" I yell waving at him with a smile.
When he looks over at me a smile blossom on his face and after saying a few words to the other man he jogs over to me from across the street. When he stops in front of me he opens his mouth to speak but I put my hand over it stopping him.
"Before you say anything I have something to show you. If I hear your voice I'll definitely chicken out." I say and when I see him nod I slowly take back my hand and glance at the man across the street who is looking at me dumbfounded. I take a deep breath and slowly release the magic that was cloaking my scent. I can smell that Chase is a wolf and an Alpha at thatso I know that he'll be able to smell the difference with just a single breath. I look up slowly when my secnt is exposed meeting his eyes.
"Mate." He whispers. I nod slowly not daring to look at him anymore.
"Smell again. You should be able to scent my species." I say softly. I feel his body get closer as he takes a deep breath of my scent.
"What are you?" He asks slowly as he looks at me wide eyed.
"Is this your first time meeting a dark elf? Or the first time you've smelled a hybrid?" I ask bitterly not daring to look him in the eyes.
"Dark elf?" He asks stunned as he looks at me from head to toe as if looking for signs.
"Right. Dark elf, werewolf, and elemental pixie." I say finally getting the courage to meet his gaze.
"No wonder you would hide it." He says pulling me into a hug. "Didn't the pixies go extinct?" He asks after a moment.
"I'm the last one." I say quietly as I hug him back. "I'm one of the few remaining dark elves as well." I say sadly thinking about how we were hunted down and killed all those years ago.
"I'm sorry Blaze." Chase says comfortingly as he hold me even closer to his body. "My pack was one of the ones that hunted dark elves hundreds of years ago." He says softly feeling guilty.
"It's not your fault." I say gently as a tear slips down my cheek. "Don't reject me." I say pleadingly as more tears escape my eyes "I'm already an endangered species and my heart can't handle a rejection." I sob quietly soaking his shirt with my tears.
"I won't reject you. I've been waiting to meet you since the day I turned 16." He says pulling away and holding my face in his hands as he gently wipes away my tears.
"Really?" I ask looking up at him with respect. Most wolves can't hold back and sleep with other people before they find there mate. I don't feel that urge even as a part wolf because pixies are pure beings of light. A pixie loses their magic if they give themselves to anyone other than their mate be it chosen or fated. Don't think that means I can't feel horny. If anything It just makes me feel even more like a dog in heat than a regular werewolf. I probably masturbate more than anyone else in the world. The sex toys at my house amount to more than you could find in an entire adult store.
"Really. I've been looking for you for so many years." He says softly placing a gentle kiss on my forehead.
"You won't run even if I'm not what you expected?" I ask uncertainly. I stare into his eyes waiting for an answer.
"I could never run from you. My wolf would never forgive me." He says jokingly with a slight smile.
"I envy you. I can't even talk to my wolf as my pixie is busy keeping her in check so she doesn't take over my body." I say with a smile. By now I've stopped crying completely.
"What does that mean?" He asks in confusion. I can tell he doesn't know much about pixies.
"A pixie has to make a vow of virginity to the queen before they are allowed to fuse with a human body. The vow applies to everyone except for their mate be it chosen or fated. As you know female wolves go into heat after they find their mate. As a hybrid I'm slightly different in some ways and unfortunately one of them is my heat. I went into heat on the day of my first shift when I was 12. That's also one of the differences. That day was a mess as no one expected me to shift at the time and after they were able to figure out how to help with my first shift they then had to deal with a horny wolf who wanted nothing more than to get laid that night. Luckily my pixie was able to restrain her and lock her away inside of my head. I can't communicate with either of them until my you -my mate- help me cool my heat. I'm sure you know as well as I do that there is only one way to cool a she-wolfs heat so I won't say more. Until then I can only use a portion of my power so as not to accidentally release my wolf or I might become a fallen pixie." I explain with a small shrug. It's just part of my life so I see no reason to hide it.
"What's a fallen pixie?" He asks in confusion after a moment of digestion what I just told him.
"A fallen pixie is an elemental pixie that broke her vow. If I break the vow I'm disrespecting the pixie queen. As a punishment my pixie will lose her light. To put it simply it's like breaking the sheild that was preventing her from being currupted. As a being of light pixies are very innocent beings. That doesn't mean they don't know anything in fact they know more about the world than most other creatures. It's due to their vast knowledge that they are easily currupted by darkness. She'll go from only seeing the good in people to only noticing the worst parts. Her nature will not change but her veiw of the world will be altered. Think of it like the difference between a hero and a villain. The only difference is the way they see the world." I explain slowly. I'm not good at explaining things so I'm not sure how much he'll understand but I can only hope I get my point across.
"I think I get what you're saying. If you put them both in the same situation. For instance they get surrounded by people who constantly tell them that they should give up as they could never become someone great. The elemental pixie would prove them wrong by helping those that need it while the fallen pixie would prove them right by destroying the homes of the people who dared to go against her." He says with a nod of realization.
