I looked deep into the sunrise, the beautiful blood orange creeping in as if coming to devour everything, yet still held a deep, rich calmness inside.
"Morning less" angel said.
"Good morning, angel, why are we awake so early?" I asked, knowing, of course, his name was an angel from his brand
"it's Friday"
"And what does friday have to do with anything about our sleep schedule?"
"Dammit less, we're going on our weekly hunt, I know you're a lesser but still get it together"
'Did this child just humiliate me? I was the king of this continent'
Was being a key word of course.
We started walking down the hill, the air... well it was not fresh to say the least.
Looking at Angel i said, "So what are we hunting today?"
"The usual, whatever comes first, we can't hunt boars though, for god's sake last time you almost died, so we are looking for anything, a rabbit, a frog, anything but we have to not enter deep in the wilds, god knows what unnamed creatures lurk there." He shrugged
'Can I trust this kid?'
"We will meet up with the others at the entrance to the wilds, oh and for gods sake less, stop weirding garden out, you know she likes honor right? I mean thats something you'll never have."
He laughed, then almost tripped on a small branch on the ground.
'Karma is a bitch huh, also me? not having honor, this kid needs to get his head straight, as soon as I understand the situation I'm in, he is the first to be killed.'
I shrugged "Sure angel, but how long is it until we arrive"
He stopped and then looked at me "Wait this easy? I thought we'd have a whole fight about this, not like you'd want one anyways, also drop the formal tone man since when were you so" he stopped and cringed while saying "educated"
I threw a hateful look at him
"My education is none of your concern, now answer my question"
"I dont know, probably like 10 more minutes"
We continued to walk down the hill, and eventually, I saw what he called "the wilds." It seemed to be a forest, a dense one at that. trees were intertwined together at the top, and an entrance that was probably dug in, looking amateurish at best. Then someone noticed us, the man looked like an average human, maybe a mundane? He had silky black hair, deep brown eyes, and a chiselled face. He wore a suit of armour, nothing too expensive, it looked like mass-produced armour but that's still good considering where we are at this time.
'maybe he isn't a mundane human'
What stood next to him was a sight to behold. The woman was clearly in her early twenties and held an alluring visage around her. 'She's definitely named'. Her green hair complimented her green eyes, both charming in their own way.
"Honor!" Angel screamed, "Ready for the hunt big guy?"
"I was born ready" honor said. "how is it going less" he looked at me.
"Fine, I guess" I scratched my head.
"Garden" angel looked at the lady
"Angel" they both exchanged nods, nothing too unordinary.
"Lets start the hunt you guys, I've been waiting, shaking even" Angel announced
'keep your words to yourself gremlin'
We walked down the entrance, and almost immediately, a boar came rushing towards us.
"you had to say no boars, did you not" I said mockingly to Angel. "Shut it" He looked embarrassed, to say the least.
They all had their weapons brandished, me included. No matter how secluded I was from the world, I was still taught combat throughout my life. I held the blade with confidence, something I could not really see in angels' eyes.
In a split second, a small tree branch popped out of the ground, tripping the boar over. Before it could regain its balance, Honor rushed towards it and attempted to cut through the hide with his dagger. The dagger... well, to say the least, it did jack shit. I looked over at Angel, who was stuck in place, dazed by fear.
'What the hell was he boasting about if he is just going to stand in place during a hunt?'
The boar rushed towards me, and while my skills against non-humans were not the best, I still knew how to wield a blade. I danced around the boar and attempted to slice through him, the blade, rusted all over it couldn't cut through, but I still wounded the boar.
With fury in its eyes, it rushed towards me a second time. I tried to dodge but my body gave out.
'what type of stamina does this body have?'
I was scared, something I hate to admit. At the last second, before the boar hit me. Angel screamed and rushed towards the boar, pushing with all the might he could muster. The boar wasn't affected by the push. Nevertheless, it was way more agitated. Angel fell, and the boar tried to bite his head.
"Angel!" garden screamed. She used her powers to wrap his body using a tree branch and grabbed him towards her. Angel was on the ground, and so was I. Garden looked exhausted too. Her powers were impressive, controlling the greenery surrounding her, but it seems like it uses too much stamina. 'Dammit, three fighters down, it is not looking too good'
The boar was bleeding from the wound I inflicted earlier. Yet still had vigor in its eyes.
Honor rushed forward, grabbed the boar by the neck, stuck his dagger deep in the wound, and sliced through.
The boar was dead. Collectively, we were relieved.
Angels' energy returned to his body. "Less!! what the hell, since when were you so good at using a sword?"
"it is a blade, and I have always been good" I said
They laughed
"What's more surprising about your blade skills, with emphasis on BLADE, is your sense of humour," Angel cried from laughter.
"what are we waiting for, guys let us divide our spoils" Honor said.
"Dibs on the left shoulder" Angel screamed.
'Damn, how am I to live through this hell" I asked myself, Wishing I was dammed dead.
