As soon as the news of the migration broke, some of the poor gathered their families and boarded merchant ships to leave. The poor were a nomadic sort. For merchant ships, they were more than willing to take on a few extra passengers. After all, they could make some money from the poor, so it was a win - win situation. Only a small number remained, as most of the poor were convinced that the kingdom would take them along.

There was another reason behind this. With Teresa's help, Limon had spread a message among the poor. That is, the mercenaries would lead them to Middle - earth to find a new home. This news spread like wildfire, from one person to ten, and from ten to a hundred. As a result, the poor were in no rush. For them, it made little difference whether they followed the mercenaries or the kingdom. They were the poor, wanderers, always ready to start over in a new place. They would follow whoever could offer them a guarantee of livelihood.
