Chapter 17: Break The Contract Off If You Can
Laura POV
I stared at him as he came closer, his eyes burning in fury.
I became scared wondering where I had gone wrong, I was only trying to keep the room in check and make everything look perfect.
I staggered backward as my legs hit the bed and I fell on it.
He stopped in front of me staring at me like his face had calmed down.
His words hit me like a blow. Maybe I forgot that for a moment, that I'm just his fake fiancee, a lady who would be his wife only on paper.
"Do you still don't get it?" He asked again sending shivers down my spine. I thought I did a great job over there, the acting, the interaction and all.
But maybe I was wrong, I shouldn't have intervened and should have just stayed the contract wife I was.
I tried to build back my confidence which seems like I had lost when he yelled at me.
