The rain didn't bother me. If anything, it was soothing—white noise against the storm of thoughts swirling in my head. The window reflected my face back at me, sharp, unreadable. I wasn't really looking at myself, though. I was thinking about the system's question, the one it kept taunting me with every time I let my guard down.
Victoria or Amelia?
What a stupid question. Like I'd tie myself down to either of them. Victoria was ambition personified, her emotions raw and volatile. Amelia was colder, more calculating, a game player who liked to think she could read everyone. Neither of them understood who I really was. They only saw what I let them see.
