Chapter 22 - DO BEST FRIENDS FIGHT? PART ONE

Giselle stopped crying and just stood there with Olivia looking at looking at an empty space. That was the first that Olivia had wanted to be there for someone and take the pain away. All this while, she has been the victim but now she felt like taking care oft Giselle. The tears from her eyes broke her heart.

She imagined losing her father and the sight was frightening. She held Giselle hand. "Let's go inside if you're ready" Giselle nodded and was going inside when she saw Mr Hart at the door step.

"Giselle are you okay?"

"Yes, I am fine. I have a lot to do please excuse me"

Mr Hart nodded as Giselle walked inside.

As soon as the other employees saw Giselle coming they couldn't hold their mouths.

"That brat. She thinks she can talk to the CEO however she likes"

" She so shameless"

"I've never liked her. Even that new one following her around"

"They're both not going to last"

"What a show. Giselle is so bold"

"Bold? I would rather say she's stupid".

"Are done talking?" Giselle asked them because she heard everything they were saying but didn't want to fight with anyone.

"You even have the right to speak now that you've causes trouble"

"How shameless"

"I don't remember affecting you with my shamelessness" Giselle folded her arms.

"She right. I will personally fire anyone that talks to Giselle like that again."" Julian walked into the room and looked at Giselle and Olivia.

"Mr Hart told me everything and I'm really sorry to know that. I want you to know that I'm with you no matter what the CEO decide to do to you" he looked at Giselle in the eyes.

FEW MINUTES AGO

Julian dragged Roderick to his office clearly disappointed in him.

"I told you to watch what you say." Julian said angrily.

"Why are growling at me? She deserved some scolding" Roderick carelessly walked to his chair.

"So you're saying you didn't do anything wrong?" Julian whispered.

His emotion changed from anger to sudden sadness.

" I didn't do anything wrong. She's the one that was wrong, she thought she has the right to talk to me anyhow" Roderick smirked like he was planning something sinister.

" Yeah. You're never wrong."

Roderick felt like there was more meaning to what Julian said.

"What are you talking about?"

"I said you're never wrong. Not even back then" Julian whispered before he walked out of the office.

Roderick froze as he remembered "back then".

He had forgotten about it and never thought Julian still had it in mind.

"So my brother holds grudges after all"

He say down wanting to do something but he couldn't focus.

But what happened isn't the same as what happened today.

Why would Julian bring that up?

He wondered why Julian brought back what happened when they were teenagers.

Did he really hold a grudge for that long? Roderick was trying to think straight.

Was that Julian's way of making him feel guilty?. If it was then it's working. Because now Roderick felt like he owed Julian an apology.

It was time to go home. Everyone wrapped up everything and started going home one by one. Roderick looked at his watch and finally it was time to go home. Went to the VP's office and learned that he had gone home. Roderick was stunned. Why did Julian leave like that.

He walked to Giselle's office to check if he would meet Julian there but he saw only Olivia and Giselle cheerfully doing their work. As soon as their eyes met, the tension intensified. Roderick was glued to the floor he looked at Giselle and so did Giselle.

It was like an eyeing competition. They both stared at each and that made Olivia flinch.

Giselle wasn't intimidated by him anymore and Olivia knew. Giselle wasn't even scared. Olivia felt chills ran through her spine as the two didn't break eye contact. Olivia needed to stop this before they put a hole on each other's eyes.

"Giselle, I can now use the printer"

"Good" still not breaking eye contact.

What the hell was going on?

Olivia felt like she was going to melt.

She had no other choice but to pinch Giselle's cheek hard.

"Ouch..."

The contest finally ended.

Roderick came back to his senses and shook his head.

"I can believe Julian said I'm in love with that girl".

He didn't see Julian around. And he was convinced that Julian had gone.

But was more surprised to not find him at home either.

He was starting to get worried.

Their mom noticed his reaction and decided to ask him what the problem was.

"I'm just tired that's all"

"Where's Julian" she asked as she noticed his absence.

"He....huh..." He didn't know what to say because he didn't know where he was.

"Are the both of you fighting?" Lizi asked him and Roderick avoided eye contact.

She figured they fought so she decided to not ask anymore. They would solve the problem as adults that they were.

Julian sat on the fence of a big school. The school he and Roderick went to together. One could see the sadness in his eyes. He was lost in thought. He wondered how things ended up like that. How he got so attached to Roderick even given the fact that Roderick bullied him a lot in school and he never told anyone.

They were enemies in school but turned to best friends when they were at home.

He sighed. "Should I be doing this?" He thought he had forgotten but what happened today made the memories come back, fresh. He didn't want it to seem like he was holding a grudge because he wasn't. He just got reminded how he suffered and Roderick never agreed that he was wrong.

Roderick stood starring out his window.

The memories came. Honestly, he regretted it over the years but didn't say it. The pain Julian must've felt when he did those things. When he said those words. He felt pain in his heart. He wanted to talk to his brother and apologize for ever making him feel pain.

He honestly hated the fact that Julian was not even returning his calls. He felt terrible.
