Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 - So It Was You Who Drugged Her

The Supreme Elder almost couldn't believe what he was hearing after Moyang's muttered words—it truly was Moyang who had "drugged" Su Feier! And with two bottles no less!

"You beast! How could you do something like this? Two bottles? You… you're truly despicable!" The Second Elder was so furious he nearly raised his hand to slap Moyang across the face.

"You reckless brat! You've been messing around with medicinal ingredients for ages—figure out a solution now!" The Supreme Elder, despite his anger, managed to stay calm. While Moyang's actions were extreme, if worst came to worst, a certain… remedy could be applied. As long as Su Feier's life wasn't at risk, he could accept the outcome.

Moyang, however, wore a grave expression. This wasn't a joke. Based on Su Feier's current condition, if the issue wasn't resolved, her life would be in grave danger.

Ignoring the elders' scolding, Moyang racked his brain for a solution. The only way to resolve this was to expel the medicinal power raging within Su Feier's body, but ordinary methods wouldn't work.

In fact, the elders' attempts to suppress the energy were only making it worse, causing the medicinal power to grow even more volatile.

"Old man! Stop what you're doing, or are you trying to kill her outright?" Moyang barked sharply, his brow furrowing.

"Moyang, I don't care about anything else right now—just save Feier's life! Take her into the house immediately!" The sect master's voice was low but commanding, his face dark and stormy. He knew that panic would only worsen the situation, and time was of the essence.

At this point, there was no other choice.

Moyang found the sect master's words a bit strange, but he didn't have the luxury to dwell on them. He had already planned to take Su Feier into the house—more specifically, into the Star Sovereign Tower.

After careful thought, Moyang realized the only solution was to treat the effects of the Marrow Cleansing Pill and the Beauty Retention Pill as poison. He would need to craft a detoxification pill called the Antitoxin Pill. It was the only option he could think of.

"If I don't come out, no one is to set foot inside the house!" Moyang shouted over his shoulder as he carried Su Feier inside, slamming the door shut behind him.

The elders outside were furious, their expressions dark as though they wanted to tear Moyang apart. Yet none of them could do anything at the moment.

The Supreme Elder glanced at the tightly shut door, his entire body trembling with both anger and anxiety. What kind of mess is this?

Sighing deeply, he turned to the other elders and said, "Let's clear the courtyard. Go wait at a distance!"

After all, with the kind of medicinal power involved, the resulting commotion wouldn't be small. A group of elderly men lingering around here would be unseemly.

But what troubled him most was whether Su Feier could even survive this ordeal.

Inside the Star Sovereign Tower, Moyang carried Su Feier to the second floor. With her consciousness already completely blurred, he didn't worry about exposing the tower's secrets.

He quickly retrieved seven specific medicinal ingredients from his storage ring. Crafting the Antitoxin Pill would be far more difficult than any pill he had attempted before, and Moyang wasn't even confident it would succeed. But he had to try.

"You little troublemaker, you've really forced me to use you as a test subject..." Moyang muttered bitterly, utterly exasperated.

Setting his thoughts aside, he calmed his mind and focused. One by one, he added the ingredients to the Cauldron of Creation. As the strong fragrance of the concoction began to fill the air, it masked some of the terrible stench emanating from Su Feier's body.

Outside on the Wood Peak, the elders had retreated several hundred paces from the courtyard.

"That beast... How dare he…" The Second Elder was fuming, his teeth clenched. The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. He had never liked Moyang, and now this brat had blundered into what seemed like a stroke of luck. The Second Elder felt as though Moyang had gotten away with murder.

"I didn't expect him to actually do something like this. I had tried to test him before, but I…" The Supreme Elder's face was equally grim. His gaze lingered on the courtyard door for a moment before he sighed helplessly.

The sect master, silent for a long while, finally spoke. "This matter must not spread. After this is over, we'll arrange their marriage."

Time passed slowly.

Inside the Star Sovereign Tower, Moyang finally succeeded in crafting the Antitoxin Pill. The moment the pill solidified, he exhaled deeply, his forehead drenched with sweat. The process had consumed a great deal of his mental energy due to the complexity of the ingredients.

Unfortunately, only a single pill had formed, and Moyang couldn't be certain of its efficacy. The only way to test it was on Su Feier.

Without delay, Moyang propped Su Feier up and carefully administered the pill. He then focused his full attention on monitoring the changes in her body.

Outside, the elders paced back and forth anxiously. As time dragged on, their nerves grew increasingly frayed. The silence from the courtyard only made them more uneasy.

The Supreme Elder was equally puzzled. Normally, with such powerful medicinal effects at play, there should have been some kind of commotion. Yet there wasn't even the faintest sound. Despite his curiosity, he refrained from using his spiritual sense to probe inside.

Half an hour passed. Then an hour. Finally, after two full hours, the silence was broken by the creak of a door opening.

The Supreme Elder and the sect master immediately rushed toward the courtyard, where they saw Moyang standing lazily in the doorway, stretching.

"How is Feier?" they asked in unison.

"The medicinal effects haven't fully dissipated yet, and her consciousness hasn't recovered. Let her rest on the bed for now," Moyang replied nonchalantly.

Hearing this, the sect master and the Supreme Elder finally relaxed, the weight on their shoulders lifting. But almost immediately, their expressions turned dark as they glared at Moyang.

"What's with those looks? You're not even going to thank me? If I hadn't figured out a solution in time, Feier might not have made it," Moyang protested indignantly.

"Thank you? You drugged Feier and now have the nerve to act smug?!" the Supreme Elder snapped coldly.

Just thinking about the situation infuriated him. He had always thought Moyang was kind-hearted and straightforward. How had it come to this?

The sect master, too, was on the verge of exploding, his eyes flashing with barely restrained killing intent.

Moyang blinked, stunned. He had been planning to let the matter go unaddressed, but seeing their expressions, he realized he had to explain himself. If he didn't, no amount of justification would cleanse his reputation.

"Listen, old man. I'm not the depraved person you think I am. I gave Su Feier two bottles of pills out of goodwill and specifically told her to only take one pill at a time. The pills I gave her were the Beauty Retention Pills and the Marrow Cleansing Pills—not some aphrodisiac!"

"If you want to blame someone, blame her for not listening. She swallowed them all in one go. She's lucky to even be alive!"

"What? They weren't aphrodisiacs? Then… what happened in there?" The Supreme Elder froze, his mind reeling.

The sect master also stood stunned, his thoughts grinding to a halt. He had already started planning how to handle their "marriage" arrangement, and now this?

The other elders, who had just entered the courtyard, overheard Moyang's explanation and froze in place, their faces blank with disbelief.

"You're still trying to make excuses? Where did you even get those pills?" the Great Elder demanded angrily.
