Chapter 1 - New Beginnings?

After Uzi, N, and V faced off against Cyn a couple of months ago, they've been trying to reverse what they've caused. Like, for example, cleaning up the debris from the face-off with them, which is what the three of them were doing right now.

"Why do we have to clean this stuff up? We didn't cause it!" Uzi said. She turned her head around to look at her tail with an angry look.

Cyn noticed Uzi's glare and said, "What did I do? I didn't do anything? Getting closer." Cyn said, getting up close to Uzi's face.

"Also, if I did want to clean this mess up, I'd be stuck in this stupid tail form thingy."

"Well, that makes sense; also, you didn't do anything, huh? Well, stop trying to act so innocent, will you?" Uzi replied, clearing the debris from the ground.

"Well fine, but don't act so rude towards me. Sneak away." Cyn said while slowly going back to helping Uzi.

N noticed that she was talking to Cyn and walked towards her to tell her something.

"Hey Uzi, can I ask a favor of you?" N asked her, walking towards a huge chunk of debris that Uzi had a hard time clearing. He cleared it with ease and continued talking.

"Can you delete some memories for me?" N said. Uzi stopped working and turned to him.

"Um, sure. Which ones?" Uzi said.

"The thing that Cyn did to me." N nervously said.

When Cyn heard her name, she popped up, but Uzi quickly shoved her aside.

"Well, are you sure you want to do this?" Uzi asked.

"It's just… I can't get it out of my head. And I need to finally focus, and this has been the only thing stopping me from that." N responded.

"Well, sure, but after we're done with this."

The two of them worked hard for hours, and when they wrapped up cleaning, everything looked spotless. They walked back home, and Uzi hooked N up to her computer to try and delete the memories he was talking about.

"C'mon! Load already!" Uzi said, looking at the loading screen.

After it was done, she started scrolling to reach the memory file, but she noticed something. A file named "Evolu-9P.asc" She clicked on it and started reading the information.

"Ascension Protocol? What the hell is that?"

She read even more, discovering that it was a protocol that increased the Disassembly Drones' strength and resilience, as well as making them violent and devoid of mercy. It seems like Cyn had installed this programming after the night of the gala as a last ditch solution to destroy earth, but it seems that it had never been activated. Uzi deleted it, but the progress bar was going very slow. Too slow.

10%...11%...12%...

Uzi watched as it slowly increased. She decided to go get a snack while the deletion finished. But Cyn had other plans. When Uzi was leaving the room, she quickly canceled the process and activated the protocol. Uzi turned around to see her activating the protocol,

"Cyn, no!"

and when she did her heart dropped. She tried to pull Cyn back, but she wouldn't budge. Uzi started running to the computer to stop her, but it was too late. It was already activated.

"What did you do?!"

Uzi desperately tried to reverse Cyn's actions, but she couldn't. Cyn ripped the cord that was on N's head that connected him to Uzi's computer. All of a sudden, N awoke. He had an expressionless face that was darker than the night sky.

"N! Are you okay? Answer me!" Uzi yelled. She tried to get N to respond, but he didn't. Then, N suddenly grabbed Uzi's neck and started strangling her.

"N! Let go of me!"

But he didn't. He threw Uzi against the wall, and she hit the cold metal with a sharp thud, the impact knocking the breath out of her. Pain surged through her body, but she had no time to process that. N lunged at her with terrifying speed, but she grabbed her railgun and pointed it at him. His eyes were devoid of any kindness or mercy. The drone that she knew was gone. She hesitated to shoot him, but she knew she had to. She pulled the trigger that released a flurry of light; N's head was blasted off, but he regenerated at a terrifyingly fast speed.

He pulled out his chainsaw hands and started sawing Uzi's body in half. But she managed to stop him before it was too late. She ran out the door, with N chasing after her. She made it to the three doors and led N outside of the colony. She started to fight back, pulling every kick and punch she could, but his reflexes had been improved. He avoided every single attack and slashed Uzi's face with his claws. He slammed Uzi into the ground and was about to cut her head off, but she distracted him by throwing a rock at one of the drone corpses, and she rushed back into the colony and trapped herself in. Uzi's heart pounded in her chest as the door shut behind her, the thick metal sealing her inside the colony. Her breathing was ragged and heavy. Her face was stinging from the slashes that N inflicted on her. She could hear N trying to break through. With every strike, the walls trembled. And she knew it was only a matter of time before he broke through.

Uzi started brainstorming ideas to help disable the protocol. Then she remembered that she had an EMP. She had worked on it as a project for school because she thought the assignment that the teacher assigned was too boring. She rushed back to her house to get it, and when she made it back, the metal that the doors were made of was bent from N trying to make it through. She opened the door, and N came flying towards her. She immediately activated the EMP, and N fell to the ground. She started to bring him back to her house to try and deactivate the protocol, but N woke up. He stabbed Uzi and threw her against the wall. Right when N was about to kill her, a silhouette flew towards N and threw him on the ground. The person started shooting him in the face. It was V.

She noticed N attacking Uzi outside and flew over to stop him.

"Run, Uzi! I'm buying you time! Do something!" V yelled at her. Uzi told V to try and disable him while she tries to find a way to stop the protocol once and for all.

Uzi stood frozen, watching V viciously attack N, unsure of what to do. Her mind raced with thoughts: Should I help? Should I stop her? Should I run?

Her gaze fell on her railgun lying on the floor. She glanced back at V, who was struggling against N. Uzi quickly grabbed the gun, hands shaking as she aimed it at N. She hesitated, unsure if she should shoot or let V handle it. Just as she decided and was about to pull the trigger, V disabled N, and his body slumped to the ground.

V turned and glared at Uzi, putting away her weapons as she stormed toward her. "What the hell did you do to him?" she shouted.

Uzi, still shocked, tried to explain. "It wasn't my fault! I didn't do anything to him!"

"Then whose fault is it?" V punched the wall, leaving a huge dent.

Uzi hesitated, then pulled out her tail. Cyn appeared, looking confused. "Why did you summon me?" Cyn asked. Uzi pointed at V, who was staring at Cyn.

"What did you do, you little bit—"

"Hey, no swearing! Disappointed head shake," Cyn interrupted.

V pulled out a chainsaw, ready to cut off Uzi's tail to stop Cyn from talking, but Uzi stopped her.

"Wait! She's still part of me!" Uzi shouted.

V groaned, putting the chainsaw away. "What did you do to N?" she demanded from Cyn.

"Ask her, I'm done talking," Cyn said, going back to business as usual.

V turned back to Uzi. "Well? What did she do?"

"It's hard to explain. Just follow me," Uzi said, leading V to her house. They entered the messy room, and Uzi showed V the still-working computer monitor.

V smirked, looking around. "This place is a wreck," she joked.

"Yeah, I know, idiot," Uzi shot back.

V walked over to the computer, reading the data on the screen. "Is there any way to reverse it?"

"Not that I know of," Uzi replied.

V sighed in frustration. "You're the genius! How do we stop it?"

Uzi thought for a moment, typing on the keyboard. "I could make a virus to stop it, but it'd take days to figure out." She paused, an idea forming. "But I can get what we need from Cabin Fever Labs!"

V looked skeptical. "How do you know that?"

Uzi turned to her. "They've got a server filled with viruses. I just need one to use as a base for the cure!"

V cracked her knuckles. "So, we go now?"

Uzi nodded. The two stepped outside, walking past N's body. As they did, his eyes flickered back to life.
