Chapter 26 - A Dream Or Reality

...So this must be a dream...

That's the conclusion that Luel arrives with after taking in the situation he's currently in. After all, there's no way a reality would exist in which Luel's beloved ex-Idol, Amy, would be in front of him, sitting across the table on the balcony where he usually eats breakfast and lunch, and eating the Takoyaki he cooked.

...If this is not a dream, then it's definitely a hallucination...

That second conclusion comes from the idea that Luel might have put something weird for the filling of the Takoyaki, causing him to hallucinate upon eating whatever it is.

...Wait, what if this hallucination is probably because I'm dying?...

Aside from putting something weird inside the Takoyaki, choking while eating, or perhaps his anxiety and panic attacks suddenly hit him so hard that his heart can't take the burden anymore, other reasons might cause Luel's sudden death.

Right now, in what Luel thinks is reality, he is probably lying on the floor, alone and unconscious, inside the empty house. Or perhaps, his cousin Rammie has found him and brought him into the hospital.

Whatever his situation is that put him into his deathbed, that's not what is important to Luel's right now. What matters is the person, the girl he's seeing in front of him.

Superstition says that before someone dies, the person's life will flash on his mind. Whether it is that the mind is trying to find a way to avoid death or it is just that the mind is trying to ease the pain that the body feels, either way, the possibility of the mind seeing a hallucination that the person wishes for is not impossible.

"I guess my final wish is to see you once again..."

Luel's sudden unconscious remark caught Amy's attention, and the heartfelt smile that Amy saw from Luel made her face blush, noticing the sincerity of Luel's words.

However, as if to hide her shyness, Amy chose to resort to being a bit of a Tsundere character.

"Don't just stare at me dumbfounded like that, you're making the situation even more awkward!"

Before what Luel thinks is a daydream scenario, a few minutes of flashback will explain how Luel and Amy arrived at their awkward situation.

...Bamm!...Bamm!...Bamm!...

Amy continues to knock on the front door while Luel remains in panic behind the door, not knowing how to deal with the most unbelievable encounter he has ever experienced.

"Hey!... I said open up!... You're the RAIDS ONLINE player, Lucent, aren't you?!"

That remark alone makes Luel gain back a bit of his composure and remember the picture that he saw on the screen of the smartphone that Amy showed to him.

A picture of the RAIDS ONLINE avatar, the player known as BlueHeroine.

That picture is enough to explain to Luel that the ex-Idol Amy is the real-life person behind the player BlueHeroine. However, it still doesn't answer why she is outside of Luel's house.

Without any choice, if he wants to learn the truth and not be any more rude to his beloved ex-Idol, Luel gathers his resolve to open the front door and face his wish to see Amy once again.

However, that resolve immediately shattered as soon as Luel saw the annoyed and angry expression yet still proud, confident, and dignified look of his beloved Amy.

To apologize for his rude behavior towards Amy, a behavior that deserves to be punished as a member of Amy's Fan Club, Luel unconsciously invites Amy inside his house and offers her to have Takoyaki for lunch.

Of course, Amy was hesitant to come inside the house of an unknown person. However, after observing the entrance of Luel's house that shows the fact that Luel lives alone, along with the threat of...

...Don't you dare try anything funny to me if you don't want to face the court and go to jail...

...Amy decided to accept Luel's invitation. After all, she needs something from Luel or rather, from the RAIDS ONLINE player, Lucent.

Back at the current awkward situation, where Luel finally snapped out of the thought that everything is a dream.

"If you already know who I am, then why did you close the door right in front of my face?!"

"I'm sorry... I just don't know how to react after not seeing you for more than two years."

"Tsk!... It's already been two years since I retired from being an Idol. How can someone still remember who am I?"

"I don't think two years is enough for your Fans to forget you, Ms. Amy... Even I won't forget you after a decade or more."

...That remark just makes the situation even more awkward...

That's the thought that Luel and Amy have while the two sit across the table on the balcony, in front of the grassy garden of the house, while eating their Takoyaki lunch.

Whether Amy has been a bit reluctant when it comes to receiving compliments from a Fan after retiring as an Idol or Luel is just overwhelmed by happiness and didn't notice how cliches his pick-up line is, both of them remains silent for a while.

...What a definitely awkward vibe...

To break the silent awkwardness, Amy decided to speak first.

"So you're my ex-Fan, Mr. Luel?"

"No..."

"Huh?!... Sorry for assuming then..."

Amy felt a bit disappointed after hearing Luel denied being her Fan. However, Luel's next remark caught Amy off guard, which made her face blush even more than earlier.

"What I mean is that I'll always be your Fan for the rest of my life."
