Chapter 147: Plan to Recruit People

Although Yun Zijin and Qin Sitong did their best to avoid looking at the couple, the PDA was too intense for single people to handle.

Fortunately, more customers arrived. Qin Sitong managed everything on her own, leaving virtually nothing for Yun Zijin to do at the counter.

But Qin Sitong was only one person; if a larger group came in, she would be overwhelmed.

Subsequent customers mostly ordered regular milk tea rather than the Forget-Your-Worries Milk Tea, so Yun Zijin could at least help with greeting guests and taking orders.

When Lingqi went out and returned with a sign advertising a 20% discount for the store's opening, the customer flow reached its peak.

Having been busy taking orders for more than an hour and becoming somewhat hoarse from talking, Yun Zijin resolved to convince Qin Sitong to hire more employees—they clearly needed it.

At around 5 p.m., traffic slowed, and finally, an opportunity arose for them to discuss the staffing situation.

"Even if you disagree with me about hiring a couple of shop assistants right away, I'm going to do it," said Yun Zijin decisively. "Today's the opening day, and I can only be here through the three-day trial operation. Once the promotion rush comes, you'll be stuck taking orders without time to make milk tea for the customers. Even with a sign reading 'Forget-Your-Worries Milk Tea,' you might not be able to maintain the quality.

"People might be lenient on the first day, but if this keeps happening, they'll get fed up and go to other shops. Without customers, no matter how good or special the milk tea is, the shop won't sustain itself."

Qin Sitong nodded in agreement. Initially, she'd thought making milk tea was simple, just some physical work. But after today's crush, she fully realized how demanding it could be.

"You're right. I'll think about it and write up a recruitment notice after we close."

"Hire two more for sure. The shop also needs nighttime operation, so four employees in total would make scheduling easier. Two for the morning shift and two for evenings. You can come when you have free time—if you have classes or anything else, you can just skip. If we're both absent, customers wanting Forget-Your-Worries Milk Tea will just have to understand."

Qin Sitong pursed her lips. "Isn't it a bit rash to hire four people right away? Today's crowd came because of the 20% discount. Once the promotion ends, it might calm down."

It was human nature to chase opening specials. She thought the frenzy would subside in a couple of days.

Nevertheless, with Qin Sitong's insistence, they finally decided on hiring two people first to see how it went. If it remained hectic after three days, they'd hire two more.

On the first trial day, they closed at 6 p.m. After all, they were humans and needed a proper meal.

"Let's celebrate our first day of business," Qin Sitong suggested. "How about Liuxian Pavilion?"

"I was actually thinking the same!" chimed in Yun Zijin. She remembered having a wonderful Buddha Jumps Over the Wall at Liuxian Pavilion with Lu Yunque previously.

They locked up the shop and left. Just moments after they departed, someone dashed over to the door of Forget-Your-Worries Milk Tea—only to find it locked.

He stared at the closed sign, looking crestfallen:

"Why is it shut already? Did I imagine the milk tea I just had...?"

Unaware of that near-encounter, the two store owners had already arrived at Liuxian Pavilion.

Since Yun Zijin had dined there before with Lu Yunque, the front-desk staff and waiters recognized her and were very welcoming. Even though they wanted a private room without a reservation, the manager quickly arranged one for them.

Meanwhile, at another location, Lu Yunque received a short text from the Liuxian Pavilion manager, stating that "Miss Yun" was there for dinner—but nothing else. This minor breach of professional etiquette was the extent of the manager's favor to Lu.

Liuxian Pavilion's manager:

"Young Master Lu, Miss Yun is having dinner here. Just FYI.

Lu Yunque glanced at the message, unsure what to do with the news. But this detail didn't concern Yun Zijin. She was, at that moment, perusing the menu at Liuxian Pavilion with Qin Sitong.

"I've heard you usually need a reservation well in advance to dine here. I never thought I'd get to eat at such a fancy place one day," Qin Sitong remarked, gazing around the private room, grateful to Yun Zijin for the opportunity.

"The restaurant owner is a friend of Mr. Lu," explained Yun Zijin. "I came here once before, and it was superb. All the dishes were excellent."

"In that case, I need to savor everything carefully—because who knows when I'll be back."

Qin Sitong knew perfectly well that without Yun Zijin, there was no way she'd be enjoying a private room at Liuxian Pavilion on such short notice.

Thus ended their first triumphant day of the Wangyou (Forget-Your-Worries) Milk Tea Shop.
