Evolution & Class

The Rank Up System

The Rank Up System allows monsters and non-human species to evolve and grow stronger by reaching level 100. When they hit this milestone, they can "Rank Up" to a higher species, gaining a significant stat boost and unlocking new abilities. However, their evolution is influenced by several factors:

Key Components of the Rank Up System:

Levels and Rank Up:

Leveling (1 to 100): Monsters grow in strength through leveling, but their growth is slower compared to Humans. When they reach level 100, they are eligible for Rank Up, which means evolving into a more powerful species.

Rank Up: The transformation into a new species provides a substantial stat boost and may come with new abilities. The type of species they evolve into depends on their prior demonstrated specialties, abilities, or fulfilled conditions.

Specialties & Conditions: The type of Rank Up a monster undergoes can be influenced by the traits or skills they've developed. For example, a Kobold with a strong affinity for magic might evolve into a Lizardman Sorcerer.

Unmet Conditions: Some monsters may not be able to Rank Up even at level 100 if they haven't met certain conditions, though the reasons for this phenomenon are unknown.

Blessings (Divine Protection):

Monsters may receive divine blessings that turn them into Variants, Subspecies, or Rare Species of their race. These blessings are often granted based on achievements, milestones, or sometimes whims of the gods.

Variants: Slightly altered versions of the species, often with unique traits or abilities.

Subspecies: Specific specializations within a race, like a Cleric or Shaman for a Druid-type species.

Rare Species: Exceptional or nearly extinct species that grant powerful abilities, items, or enhancements to the monster.

Restoration & Creation: When a species is restored from extinction or a new species is created, the monster might be rewarded with items or special abilities compatible with their new form.

Devolution:

Loss of Experience: If a monster loses experience points (e.g., through absorption or energy draining), they experience Devolution, which causes them to weaken progressively.

Rank Down: Losing levels causes a Rank Down into a weaker, mutated species. For example, a monster drained by a Vampire might become a Thrall or Undead Slave.

Negative Side Effects: Devolution is dangerous and causes significant debilitation unless the monster receives a blessing or other corrective measure. It is not a reliable way to cheat the Evolution System due to the risk of long-term consequences.

Gods and Divine Influence:

Extensions of the System: Gods are not full-fledged entities but rather manifestations of the System itself. They reward monsters with blessings based on specific actions, such as achieving greatness or embodying certain ideals (e.g., Nature Gods blessing those who protect forests).

Non-Interference: Gods cannot directly interfere with the world, but they can influence monsters' growth through blessings or curses.

Whimsical Nature: Gods may offer blessings based on personal interest, often choosing individuals who intrigue them.

The Job System

The Job System for Humans allows them to specialize and evolve through various professions and skill sets. Unlike monsters, who evolve biologically, humans gain power by selecting and advancing in a particular job class, each offering unique abilities and paths of progression.

Key Components of the Job System:

Job Categories:

Basic Jobs: The foundational jobs humans start with. They cover essential roles like combat, magic, healing, and crafting.

Warrior: Focuses on physical combat and defense.

Mage: Specializes in casting spells and magic.

Healer: Specializes in restoring health and curing ailments.

Rogue: Focuses on stealth, agility, and trickery.

Craftsman: Specializes in creating and enhancing items.

Intermediate Jobs: These jobs require more experience and mastery of basic skills, offering a deeper focus in specialized areas.

Knight: A combat-focused leader, excelling in mounted combat and defense.

Sorcerer: A mage who has mastered advanced and destructive magic.

Priest/Priestess: A healer who channels divine magic to cure and protect.

Assassin: A master of stealth and precision kills.

Engineer: A craftsman who creates technological wonders and complex devices.

Advanced Jobs: The highest tier, requiring exceptional mastery of one's craft. These jobs represent the pinnacle of human expertise.

Paladin: A divine warrior combining holy magic and strong combat prowess.

Archmage: A powerful mage who controls high-level magic.

High Priest/Priestess: A leader of divine magic, capable of large-scale healing and protection.

Shadow Lord: A master assassin and strategist, commanding a network of spies.

Grand Architect: A genius of both magic and engineering, capable of creating monumental structures and machines.

Hybrid Jobs:

Combining Skills: Humans can combine multiple basic or intermediate jobs to create unique hybrid classes. This allows for more customization and flexibility in building a character's abilities.

Spellblade (Warrior + Mage): A melee fighter who can cast spells during combat.

Templar (Knight + Priest): A holy warrior with both defensive prowess and divine healing.

Trickster (Rogue + Mage): A stealthy spellcaster who manipulates illusions and elements.

Artificer (Engineer + Craftsman): A master of creating magical items and mechanical wonders.

Job Advancement:

Progression: To advance through jobs, humans must complete quests, fulfill certain conditions, or achieve mastery in their chosen skillset. Advancement can unlock new abilities and improve their effectiveness in combat, crafting, or other tasks.

Restrictions: Some jobs require specific prerequisites to advance, such as proving skill in a particular area or completing key challenges. Certain combinations of jobs may have synergy benefits, while others could conflict and cause penalties.

Job-Specific Skills and Abilities:

Each job provides a set of unique skills or abilities that define its role. For example:

Warrior: Abilities like Heavy Strike, Shield Wall, and Battle Cry.

Mage: Spells like Fireball, Teleport, and Arcane Shield.

Healer: Abilities like Heal, Revive, and Cleansing Light.

Rogue: Skills like Stealth, Backstab, and Trap Setting.

Craftsman: Skills like Blacksmithing, Potion Making, and Enchanting.

TLDR

Rank Up System (Monsters): Monsters grow by reaching level 100 and evolving into a higher species based on their specialties or conditions fulfilled. Devolution is a risk when losing experience, and divine blessings may grant exceptional powers or form rare species.

Job System (Humans): Humans progress through a Job System, choosing a path (e.g., Warrior, Mage, Healer) and specializing in it. They can evolve into more advanced jobs and hybrid classes, gaining new abilities and roles in society. Job progression is achieved through milestones and mastery of skills.
