Han Zhengyu's handsome face darkened as he ruthlessly shoved Bai Weiwei. With his strength, her frail body was violently slammed against a cart filled with medical supplies.
The sound of the crash echoed, and the materials from the cart fell on her. As she hit the ground, Bai Weiwei gasped in pain, feeling the sting in her leg, followed by a sharp pain in her waist.
Despite this, Bai Weiwei clung to Han Zhengyu, knowing that if she didn't succeed in her mission, she would never be able to return.
Han Zhengyu initially intended to push her away but froze when he saw her face, which looked helpless like a child. Her pure, innocent eyes made him hesitate.
The needles from the cart had scraped her wrist, and blood began to flow, making the scene look gruesome.
Han Zhengyu felt something was off. He knew Bai Weiwei, who had been pampered and spoiled since childhood, couldn't tolerate even the smallest injury. What could have happened to make her appear as though she didn't understand pain?
"Do you know who I am?" Han Zhengyu asked coldly.
Bai Weiwei, still dazed, replied firmly, "Of course, you're my gege."
Han Zhengyu suddenly pulled her hands off him and shouted, "Doctor!"
The doctor and nurses rushed in, visibly nervous. They began inspecting her closely.
"It seems... Miss Bai suffered extensive brain damage that caused a buildup of blood pressure in part of her brain, affecting her cranial nerves..." The doctor rambled on with medical jargon until Han Zhengyu interrupted.
"Just get to the point," he snapped.
The doctor quickly complied. "She has amnesia. Moreover, due to the loss of so many memories, her mental state has regressed to the level of a 5-year-old. We'll need further checks to determine the full extent of her condition."
"Amnesia?" Han Zhengyu looked at her coldly.
Bai Weiwei clung to the hem of his clothes, her face full of misery as she cried softly.
She looked up, tears streaming down her face, and asked in a small voice, "Gege, don't you like Weiwei?"
Han Zhengyu's head throbbed. Was this really Bai Weiwei? She seemed like a five-year-old child now.
His expression hardened. "Let go."
This woman killed his mother.
The system chimed in: Male god's favorable impression: -25. The hatred towards Host has bloomed like a thousand pear trees in the spring.
His hatred grew even more intense just because she cried.
However, thinking of his mother, whom she had killed, Han Zhengyu saw her mere existence as a mistake.
Bai Weiwei cried harder, her sobs echoing through the room. As she clung to him, she feared her mission might fail and wondered if she would be killed by her younger sister. The thought distressed her so much that she couldn't stop crying.
Her cries sounded so sorrowful that anyone would pity her.
Bai Weiwei, her voice filled with despair, clung to Han Zhengyu. "If gege doesn't want me, Weiwei doesn't want to live anymore!"
Han Zhengyu's face shifted from dark to pale, then to green, before finally turning red with anger.
"Get out! I'm going to divorce you."
At that moment, the doctor spoke up. "Mr. Han, as she currently has the mental capacity of a child, you're responsible for her. Divorcing her isn't possible."
In this world, there was a rule that once you were married, you couldn't abandon a mentally ill spouse.
Luckily for Bai Weiwei, she wouldn't be divorced, or Han Zhengyu would have certainly gotten rid of her.
Since her leg injury was minor, Bai Weiwei didn't need to remain in the hospital. So, she followed Han Zhengyu as he took her home.
