Chapter 7 - Old Friends 2

Vincent's POV

I walked out of the room like a man but deep down I was wailing like a fucking baby. I have failed the promise I made to my brother. 'Hold the family's banner up and protect our little sister,' he had said and I vowed to keep that word. But today I had failed, my sweet Val was gone.

I walked under the weight of my failure through the grand foyer and into the study, which was situated on the western wing of the mansion. This was where my hackers worked.

"Boss!" Some of the hackers hailed, while the rest were totally engrossed in whatever they were doing. The sound of their keyboards filled the entire room.

My lead-hacker, Pablo, stood up immediately to meet me. He placed his knuckles on his chest respectfully, a greeting sign common in only my family.

"How are we looking?" I asked.

"We are breaking through the last five firewalls now, we will be inside his bank account in no time." He quickly pulled his laptop to show me their progress.

He continued. "We also tracked his transactions and we noticed that he purchased a flight ticket to Spain.

I shook my head. "He is trying to deceive us, I know him well. Antonio is not a man to run, probably he wants us to let our guard down and head to Spain."

Pablo quickly realized and nodded his head in agreement.

I scratched my jaw for a moment. "Do this instead," I said. "Track the location where he booked the flight, triangulate it and check CCTV footages from there. Let me know when you find anything."

"I will do that boss." Pablo went back to sit and I left them to do their job.

"Oh! One more thing," I stopped at the study's threshold. "Get me a secured device, deliver it to my office as soon as possible."

"Right away boss!" I left him and headed to my office.

Sinking into my chair, I let the thoughts of Adriana's sudden appearance fill my mind. My sister died and my long lost love re-appeared, it didn't feel right but I could already tell that Adriana didn't pose a threat, after someone from her family just attempted to kill her.

Her younger brother is playing the role of boss now. It should be her as Francesco was just Orlando's stepson, but no one wants a female to lead in the world of organized crime.

Women are considered weak in our world. They shy away from the blood and horrors, but the greed for the unimaginable money we make is enough to make them stay. However, none of them have an important role. They are just figure heads, playing the role of innocence for the public.

Adriana was different, she was just as ruthless as I am. She was perfect, but she left me to die, years ago. But Why? That was a question I probably won't get an answer to andI frowned at the thought of it. Our relationship was perfect until she left without a word.

She disappeared and now she's suddenly back. Orlando is dead and Adriana is the last of his bloodline, she should be the one to inherit his empire, but that bastard Francesco had hijacked it from her grasp and now she is running for her life.

Orlando's empire is the biggest there is in the whole of Europe. I was filled with the hope that she and I would join hands, when her father eventually stepped down as boss, and she stepped up as the new boss.

But all hopes were shattered now that the bastard was the one controlling Orlando De Lucas' family. However, there's still hope, since Adriana was still alive. I knew what I had to do, and I had to do it fast.

I walked out of the office and headed into the study again. Pablo bumped into me on the way, it seemed like he wanted to meet me.

"Boss, Antonio is here." He said, shock was evident in his expression.

Before I could process his words I started to hear loud voices, arguing outside the turf, a loud gunshot followed.

I sprinted out of the building in no time, Pablo also followed behind me. And then I got a clear view of what was happening. Antonio was truly here, his hands were up in the air in surrender, one of my men had shot a gun up to stop him from moving closer to the building.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" I clenched my fists as I walked closer to him.

Antonio chucked, "I thought you were searching everywhere for me."

I punched him hard and he crashed to the ground. "You shouldn't be here, you fool."

The fool grinned at me, his entire mouth coated with blood. "And here I am, at your doorstep."

My brows furrowed into a frown. I'm going to fucking enjoy this. I reached for a brass knuckle in my pocket and placed it into my fingers.

"Hold him still." I ordered two of my men as they brought Antonio to his knees. Adjusting my brass knuckles, I pounded on his face.

"You thought you could come to my house?" I yelled as I broke his jaw.

"Like nothing happened?" I pounded again.

"You thought you could burn my house down?"

Pound

"Steal my money and get away with it?"

Pound

I loved the sound of the bones in his face breaking with only his skin to hold it together. I couldn't even see his face through all the blood. The moment I stopped, Antonio coughed up blood as his nose gushed profusely.

"Take him to the basement and decorate him with chains." I wiped his blood from my knuckles.

"Is that all you've got." The bastard laughed as he was being drag away.

Oh, hell no. I haven't even began with him. I only stopped because I saw Liam coming, he definitely had news and I don't want that fucker to know what's going on in here.

"Boss." Liam stomped his fist on his chest and I acknowledged. "I have gathered them, boss, every single suspicious motherfucker amongst us."

"Good, take them to my office, let us have a little conference meeting." I smirked, my desk hasn't tasted blood in awhile.

Liam smirked too before dismissing himself.

I turned to Pablo, who was still watching me wipe my knuckles on my shirt. "Give me the device."

He handed me a weird looking iPad, but I trust him to give nothing but perfection, so I had no questions with it.

It's time to see what Adriana can do with this.
