Chapter 13 - The celebration

As Jack and Raghu stepped into the inner palace, they were immediately enveloped in a whirlwind of color and splendor. The entire palace was resplendent in a tapestry of flowers, with delicate petals strewn across the floors and draped elegantly from the balconies. Above, girls from the second floor leaned over the railings, their laughter and giggles carrying on the air as they showered the guests below with a cascade of flowers.

The guests themselves were a testament to the occasion's grandeur, with each person dressed in their finest, most luxurious attire. Some wore intricately embroidered Indian garments, while others opted for sleek, modern Western dresses. The resulting melting pot of styles and cultures only added to the evening's magic, creating a truly unforgettable atmosphere.

Raghu and Jack stood awestruck, their eyes wide with wonder as they took in the opulent surroundings.

"Waaaa!" Raghu breathed, his voice barely above a whisper.

Jack's gaze swept across the room, a slow smile spreading across his face. "It's beautiful," he murmured.

Raghu nodded in fervent agreement, his eyes still scanning the lavish decorations. They bot were seeking to avoid drawing attention to themselves, both of them slipped away to a quiet corner, content to observe the festivities from a distance.

As Raghu and Jack stood in the corner, a group of men caught sight of Raghu and exclaimed, "Ah! Raghu!" They made their way through the crowd, smiling warmly as they greeted their friend.

Raghu's face lit up with delight as he hugged his friends and introduced them to Jack.

"My friends," he said, beaming with pride.

However, in the midst of the bustling crowd, Jack's presence barely registered with Raghu's friends. Their attention was focused on catching up with Raghu, and Jack's covered face blended into the sea of unfamiliar faces.

As Raghu became engrossed in conversation with his friends, he forgot about Jack's presence. Jack, feeling neglected and bored, began to scan the scenery, his eyes wandering across the opulent decorations and the throngs of people.

**Tantara**

A loud, triumphant blast of the trumpet pierced the air, signaling a sudden shift in the music's tempo and tone.

The room's atmosphere electrified as the crowd parted to make way for the grand entrance of the esteemed royal family.

With majestic fanfare, the Lord, accompanied by his wife, their son the Prince, and the Prince's wife, made a regal and dramatic entrance. The assembly erupted into applause as the royal family graciously acknowledged the crowd, their dignified presence commanding attention and admiration.

As the royal family took their seats, a hush of anticipation fell over the assembly. The air was electric with expectation as the Lord, his wife, the Prince, and the Prince's wife turned their attention to the entrance, awaiting the arrival of the evening's guest of honor.

With a soft rustle of silken fabrics and the gentle jingle of jewelry, Princess Indravati made a stunning entrance with , her regal presence commanding the attention of all in attendance.

As Princess Indravati glided down the aisle, the assembly erupted into a frenzy of cheers and applause, with everyone hailing her name in unison. The room was electrified with excitement, and all eyes were irresistibly drawn to the princess.

Her beauty was nothing short of mesmerizing, leaving the onlookers spellbound and entranced. The crowd was transfixed, their gazes glued to the princess as she moved with poise and elegance, her very presence commanding attention and admiration.

Raghu, who had been chatting with his friends near the front, had a clear view of Princess Indravati as she entered. But as he turned to share his excitement with Jack, he realized his friend was nowhere to be found.

"Huh! Jack! Wo kaha gaya? (Huh! Jack! Where did he go?)" Raghu exclaimed, scanning the crowd frantically.

Unbeknownst to Raghu, Jack had been swept away by the surging crowd, which had pushed forward to catch a glimpse of the princess. Lost and disoriented, Jack struggled to regain his footing and find his way back to Raghu.

Stranded in the last corner of the crowded hall, Jack found himself unable to catch even a glimpse of Princess Indravati. The dense throng of people obscured his view, and he couldn't help but feel frustrated. Today seemed to be going from bad to worse - first, the altercation at the entrance, and now this.

"Hah! What's going on today?, Man F@ck it" Jack muttered to himself, exasperation etched on his face.

Frustrated but curious, Jack began to weave through the crowd at the back of the hall, jumping up and down to catch glimpses of the proceedings over the sea of heads. He was eager to get a look at Princess Indravati on her special day.

As the minutes ticked by, Jack's hopes of catching a glimpse of Princess Indravati dwindled, and he resigned himself to his spot at the back of the hall.

The monotony of staring at the backs of people's heads began to bore him, and he started to scan his surroundings for an escape route.

His eyes landed on a small corridor in the distance, partially hidden by the crowd. It looked like a potential way out, and Jack's desire for freedom propelled him to take action. He began to push his way through the dense throng, determined to reach the corridor despite the challenges posed by the crowd.

As Jack struggled to navigate the crowd, Princess Indravati's eyes scanned the sea of faces, searching for a glimpse of him. However, the dense throng made it impossible for her to locate him.

Her gaze landed on Raghu, Jack's friend, but Jack was nowhere to be seen beside him.

Indravati's face fell, and a pang of sadness struck her heart. She assumed Jack had chosen not to attend her birthday celebration, and he was still angry.

Just then, her brother, Prince Veejaya, interrupted her thoughts. "Indra, samane dekho!" (Indra, look at the front!), he said, drawing her attention back to the proceedings.

Indravati nodded obediently, responding, "Ji Bhaiya" (Yes, Brother).

After what seemed like an eternity of pushing and shoving through the dense crowd, Jack finally managed to break free and reach the corridor.

Exhausted but relieved, he let out a triumphant sigh.

"Ah, finally!" Jack exclaimed, feeling a sense of accomplishment at having escaped the suffocating throng.

As Jack stood in the corridor, a sudden gust of wind swept through, rustling his clothes and revealing his golden hair, which shimmered in the sunlight streaming through the windows.

Meanwhile, Princess Indravati's wandering gaze happened upon Jack, and her face involuntarily broke into a radiant smile.

The crowd was entranced by her dazzling smile, and her luminous face captivated everyone's attention, leaving them blushing. However, her brother, Prince Veejaya, grew concerned about the impression her smiling face might create among the people.

"Hasna band karo (Stop smiling)," he whispered to her.

Indravati obediently composed herself, suppressing her smile as her brother commanded. Nevertheless, the joy of seeing Jack again still lingered within her, filling her heart with happiness.

As Jack exited the corridor, Princess Indravati found herself involuntarily rising from her seat, eager to follow him. She attempted to slip away quietly, hoping to go unnoticed amidst the bustling crowd. However, her brother, Prince Veejaya, caught her trying to sneak off.

"Kaha jar rahi ho Indra? (Where are you going, Indra?)" Veejaya asked, his curiosity piqued.

Indravati hesitated, searching for a plausible excuse. "Abhi ati hu bhaiya (I'll be right back, brother)," she replied.

Veejaya raised an eyebrow, skeptical of her intentions. "Agar koi jaruri kaam nahi hai to rehane do (If it's not important, then don't leave)," he cautioned.

Indravati reassured him, "Bhai, mai abhi ajaungi (Brother, I'll come soon)." She tried to placate him, but Veejaya remained unconvinced.

"Itana kya jaruri kaam hai jo tumhe is mahatvapoorn utsav ke beech mei jana hai? Mai bhi chalu? (What's so important that you need to leave in the middle of this function? Do you want me to come with you?)" Veejaya pressed, his tone laced with amusement.

Indravati couldn't resist teasing her brother. With a mischievous grin, she replied, "Sauchalaya, jaenge aap bhi? (Toilet, do you also want to come?)"

Veejaya's face turned bright red as he chuckled, embarrassed. "Thik hai, jao, jaldi aana (Okay, go, but come back soon)," he said, waving his hand in dismissal.

Indravati swiftly exited the palace, her feet moving with a sense of urgency. She scanned the surroundings, her eyes searching for a glimpse of Jack's familiar figure.

The bright sunlight and fresh air were a welcome respite from the stifling atmosphere of the palace, and Indravati felt a thrill of excitement as she searched for the one person she couldn't seem to forget.

Jack, who was on the terrace of a nearby building, his gazed down at the scene unfolding below. His eyes widened with surprise and delight as he spotted Princess Indravati scanning the surroundings, her brow furrowed in concentration.

Jack couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement at seeing the princess, usually so poised and regal, looking endearingly flustered as she searched for something - or someone. The sight of her from above was nothing short of amusing, and Jack found himself grinning from ear to ear.
