"Boom!"
The intense clash resonated in everyone's hearts, as if they themselves were on the battlefield.
Everyone could see it: the fireball and water dragon collided with the earth wall, blasting a massive hole into it—but failing to break it entirely.
Cheers erupted from the crowd. "Instructor Kimura is amazing!"
"No wonder he's a strong Chunin!"
Standing behind the fractured earth wall, Shiraishi Kimura exhaled in relief. He'd genuinely feared he might not block the attack. But hearing the students cheer, he felt his efforts were worth it.
Just as the crowd was certain Tenshin and Kakashi couldn't stand a chance against Instructor Kimura and were close to defeat, a thick mist suddenly filled the training grounds.
Noticing this, Shiraishi felt a jolt of realization: Tenshin and Kakashi were working together! Their combination of Fireball Jutsu and Water Dragon Jutsu was part of a plan.
Whether he dodged or not, both jutsus would hit the same spot, leveraging fire and water to produce dense mist.
Understanding their strategy, Shiraishi began moving cautiously, knowing the pair would likely try to attack him under the cover of the mist.
As expected, the moment he stepped forward, a small figure darted toward him, kunai glinting coldly.
Prepared, Shiraishi didn't back away. Instead, he lunged, using his Taijutsu skills to counter his opponent's attack and force them back.
But as he relaxed, ready to capitalize on his advantage, a pair of blood-red eyes suddenly appeared before him.
In an instant, the crimson seemed to flood around him like a river of blood, engulfing his entire body.
Floating helplessly in the bloody torrent, Shiraishi felt an overwhelming heaviness. His mind grew foggy, his gaze dull.
In reality, however, Shiraishi was still standing on the training ground, unmoving. Tenshin was right in front of him.
Long before, when Tenshin and Kakashi had been knocked down, they'd agreed to work together. Having learned the hard way, Kakashi realized that if they wanted to pass, they had to set aside their differences and collaborate. Hence, everything led to this moment.
As for whether Kakashi, at his age in the original story, could already use Water Style techniques, Tenshin wasn't sure. But he knew that Kakashi had been training rigorously over the past year to surpass him.
After Tenshin defeated him once with the Fireball Jutsu, Kakashi had worked relentlessly to master Water Style techniques, including Water Dragon Jutsu.
To defeat Shiraishi, they had to exploit their strengths and attack his weaknesses. But their raw power and experience still couldn't match his.
The only way to win was through genjutsu.
This just happened to be one of Tenshin's strengths. He had learned Chunin-level genjutsu techniques from Fugaku Uchiha himself.
While Tenshin dared only reveal his single-tomoe Sharingan for now, its genjutsu was effective enough to hold Shiraishi, a regular Chunin, for a short period.
As Tenshin had anticipated, Shiraishi was indeed ensnared by his genjutsu, rendered helpless.
The mist cleared in a flash, revealing the scene in the center of the training grounds.
Shiraishi stood dazed, while Tenshin, calm and composed, faced him from a distance.
Kakashi, his expression cold, held a kunai at Shiraishi's neck.
The gathered students were stunned into silence, and even the teachers on the sidelines were shocked.
Two children who hadn't yet graduated had teamed up to defeat an experienced Chunin!
Was the world turning upside down?
The entire field was utterly silent. Not a sound was heard.
But two girls broke the silence, cheering excitedly, "Tenshin! Kakashi! You two are incredible!"
The rest of the crowd came to their senses, shouting with passion, "Tenshin! Tenshin!"
"Kakashi! Kakashi!"
For these young students, admiring strength would never change.
Feeling the crowd's cheers, Tenshin walked over to Kakashi and took his hand, raising it together.
"We won!"
With those words, the crowd's excitement soared, voices echoing around them.
"Wow! That was amazing!"
"Tenshin! Kakashi! I'll train hard to surpass you both!"
"Keep going!"
Watching the spirited young ninjas, Hiruzen Sarutobi, standing nearby, smiled warmly.
Where the leaves dance, the fire burns—these children all have such promise.
Yet, as proud as he felt, Hiruzen knew he had to restore order. He stepped forward, calling out, "Everyone, quiet down."
The moment the Hokage spoke, every student, no matter how thrilled, went silent, not daring to make a sound.
"After the three stages of testing, I hereby declare Uchiha Tenshin and Hatake Kakashi as official Genin of the Hidden Tenshin Village!"
Hearing this, Tenshin and Kakashi exchanged a look, then walked over to the Third Hokage together. "Thank you, Lord Hokage."
"Alright, I'll leave you youngsters to celebrate—I have plenty of work to do." With that, Hiruzen gave them a nod and disappeared in an instant.
As soon as the Third Hokage departed, the crowd burst into cheers again. Some of their friends even ran up to Tenshin and Kakashi, congratulating them warmly.
Among them were Might Guy and Asuma Sarutobi, both destined to become prominent figures.
But the most excited were Rin Nohara and Kurenai Yuhi, who both rushed over to Tenshin and Kakashi, smiling brightly.
"Congratulations, Tenshin!" Kurenai beamed at Tenshin, her red eyes shining with happiness.
Tenshin responded with a soft smile, thanking her, while Kakashi, though somewhat flustered, didn't respond to Rin's congratulations.
Everyone, however, was used to this, sharing laughs all around.
In the corner, Fugaku Uchiha watched with satisfaction.
But just as he was about to leave, he noticed Shiraishi Kimura was still trapped in the genjutsu, unable to break free.
What's going on? Is that kid's genjutsu this powerful?
Fugaku walked up to Shiraishi, once more struck by Tenshin's talent.
Unaware that Tenshin's genjutsu skill was rooted in Fugaku's own teachings, he released Shiraishi from the illusion.
As clarity returned to Shiraishi's eyes, he took in the celebratory scene around him and realized he had lost.
He… had been defeated by two five-year-olds!?
An overwhelming sense of doubt washed over him, like a dark cloud threatening to consume him.
Sensing this, Fugaku frowned slightly. After a brief hesitation, he spoke, offering reassurance. "There's no shame in losing to them."
(TL: Nah dude you won't be sleeping for a few days, getting beat up by 5 year olds gotta hurt bad.)
"Someday, you might even be proud of this."
