Chapter 120: Limb Regeneration
One Day Later
The Land of Wind, Western Border
On an isolated oasis, Baishi sat calmly within its tranquil surroundings.
"I found it!"
Suddenly, Baishi opened his eyes, relief washing over his face. "It was marked on my skull… during that genjutsu?"
"How cunning."
With a focused thought, Baishi gathered his chakra and easily erased the mark.
At last, Obito could no longer track him.
Indeed, Baishi had spent the past day searching for the chakra imprint Obito had placed on him.
As for their chase? That had ended half a day ago.
Just as Baishi anticipated, Obito couldn't maintain the pursuit.
Initially, Obito had calmly followed Baishi's teleportation trail, but within hours, the strain on his eyes became apparent. By the time half a day passed, signs of blindness began to creep into his vision.
Understanding the risks of overusing the Mangekyo Sharingan, Obito wisely ceased his pursuit, opting to regroup and strategize.
Once Baishi confirmed the chase was over, he didn't let his guard down. Obito might return at any moment, launching another surprise attack.
Thus, he dedicated himself to locating and erasing the chakra imprint.
After several hours of meticulous searching, he finally found it.
Unlike the Flying Thunder God technique, Obito's hastily applied mark was far less durable. With some effort, Baishi removed it with ease.
Only now did he truly feel at ease.
"Wait a moment…"
Baishi scanned his surroundings and muttered, "I can't stay here for long."
Without hesitation, he locked onto another mark and activated the Flying Thunder God technique, vanishing from the oasis.

The Land of Wind, Western Borderlands
In a strikingly unique oasis, towering mountains stood tall amidst the barren desert.
On one such peak, Baishi materialized out of thin air.
Surveying the familiar terrain, Baishi couldn't help but sigh. "It's been four years already."
Four years ago, while evading ROOT operatives and learning the Flying Thunder God technique, he had hidden here for some time.
He still remembered the old woman in the valley below and her warm, steaming meals. Unfortunately…
With a few light leaps, Baishi landed on a treetop, overlooking the mountain village below.
"Hmm, people have returned?"
Baishi had expected to find the village abandoned, still bearing the scars of its slaughter by the Mist. Yet, to his surprise, it seemed vibrant and alive again.
Thanks to his Level VIII Enhanced Senses, Baishi could see the scene below in vivid detail, despite the distance.
The village was now home to mostly young adults, with very few elders or children in sight.
It didn't take much to deduce that these were likely refugees seeking shelter from ongoing wars.
"War…"
Shaking his head at the tragedy, Baishi muttered softly, "It always hurts the innocent the most."
Without disturbing the villagers, Baishi locked onto the mark he had left inside a mountain chamber and teleported.
After cleaning and organizing the chamber, Baishi settled in.
"Now, it's time to focus on improving Regeneration to restore my arm."
---
One Month Later
After devoting himself to training, Baishi's Self-Healing ability finally upgraded from Level VIII (55.5%) to Level IX (0.1%).
With this new milestone, Baishi activated the ability, attempting to regrow his severed right arm.
But nothing happened.
"As expected, it's not enough."
Baishi sighed in frustration but quickly regained focus, closing his eyes to continue his evolution.
Compared to Level VIII, advancing Level IX Self-Healing was painstakingly slow.
Even with the Nine-Tails providing near-limitless chakra, the transformation of energy through Absorption Skin had its limits.
As a result, Baishi spent over three months pushing Self-Healing to Level X.
Now, Baishi could sense that Self-Healing had reached a threshold. Crossing it would likely enable him to regenerate his missing limb.
Without hesitation, he activated his powers again.
Day after day passed until…
---
Five Months Later
Within the mountain chamber, Baishi suddenly opened his eyes, glancing at his partially severed right arm.
At the stump, the healed wound began to split open, fresh blood oozing from the gash.
As time passed, the tear widened, exposing white bone beneath.
A wave of excruciating pain coursed through Baishi, forcing him to stifle a groan. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead.
"Let's begin."
Steeling himself, Baishi activated Regeneration: Limb Restoration.
In an instant, a tremendous surge of chakra flooded into his right arm.
The surrounding cells responded immediately, becoming hyperactive. Flesh, bones, muscles, blood vessels, nerves, and skin began to reform at an astonishing speed.
In a mere ten seconds, Baishi's arm was fully restored.
Looking at the pale but complete limb, Baishi let out a long sigh of relief. After nine arduous months, the issue of his missing arm was finally resolved.
And from now on, he wouldn't need to fear limb loss again.
"System, display my status."
With a mental command, the familiar translucent panel appeared before him:

Looking at his reduced Constitution attribute, Baishi quickly understood the reason behind it.
Both Self-Healing and Regeneration drew their strength from his Constitution, which represented the body's potential.
When that potential was insufficient, forcibly restoring a limb would inevitably deplete his essence.
In this case, restoring his right arm had cost him two points of Constitution, as well as a year of lifespan.
Theoretically, leveling up Regeneration further could reduce this cost. However, Baishi didn't want to wait any longer.
The reasons were simple:
After Self-Healing evolved into Regeneration, the difficulty of advancement skyrocketed. Achieving further progress would take an enormous amount of time.
Baishi couldn't afford to pour all his efforts into this single trait—he had other priorities.
The price, though steep, was acceptable.
