Chapter 47: Esacpe (Part 2)

"Watch out below!"

The Yamanaka clan member, known for his acute sensory skills, shouted a warning just as the Iwa ninja launched their counterattack.

But even before the warning, Baishi's enhanced senses, bolstered by Level III Five Sense Amplification, detected the anomaly. He leaped high into the air just as a sharp, fast-growing spike of earth shot up from beneath him.

Earth Release: Earth Spear Fang, Baishi recognized instantly.

Looking at the rapidly extending spike aiming for him, Baishi's expression remained indifferent. Twisting slightly in mid-air, he dodged the attack with ease.

However, as he descended, dozens—no, hundreds—of earthen spikes erupted from the ground, transforming the area into a deadly forest of spears.

Simultaneously, from above, Ōnoki made his move, activating Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World Technique.

A small transparent cube formed between his palms before it shot toward Baishi at incredible speed.

Sensing the life-threatening danger behind him, Baishi acted without hesitation. Locking onto one of the kunai he'd thrown earlier, he activated the Flying Thunder God Technique.

In an instant, he vanished just as the cube reached his previous location.

Boom!

A flash of white light obliterated everything in its radius, including a portion of the spiked forest beneath it, leaving a gaping void in the earth.

---

Baishi reappeared a short distance away, his expression dark. Though he had evaded the combined assault from Ōnoki and an Iwa ninja, it had separated him from the Konoha Anbu.

Worse, it became clear this separation was deliberate.

Looking ahead, he saw Elephant and the others struggling against the Iwa forces, unable to regroup with him.

Muttering under his breath, Baishi said, "It seems I can't just coast through this."

Initially, he'd planned to conserve energy while letting the Anbu cover his escape. But with the current situation, it was clear he couldn't afford to hold back.

Seeing Elephant and the other three surrounded and barely hanging on, Baishi thought, I can't let them go down so soon. I need to stabilize the situation first.

Determined, Baishi formed a series of hand seals at a blinding speed.

Wood Release: Advent of a World of Flowering Trees.

In moments, the desolate battlefield transformed into a lush, vibrant forest. Trees and vines erupted from the ground, enveloping the area in dense greenery.

Hidden within the foliage, Baishi controlled the vines to attack the Iwa ninja while searching for an opportunity to escape.

With the additional cover provided by the trees, Elephant and the other Anbu fought with renewed vigor. In just moments, they dismantled the Iwa ninjas' formation, taking down several opponents.

The Nara clan member proved especially deadly. Using the forest's abundant shadows, he unleashed his clan's shadow techniques with devastating precision, eliminating four Iwa ninja single-handedly.

But their advantage was short-lived.

Suddenly, a blinding white light descended from the sky, obliterating a large portion of Baishi's forest.

Among the casualties was the Nara Anbu, whose overreliance on shadows left him vulnerable.

Seeing this, Baishi felt a chill run down his spine. He wasn't sure how many more times Ōnoki could unleash Dust Release: Boundary Removal, but each activation drained his reserves significantly.

And then, another threat emerged.

Among the Iwa forces was a ninja with Explosion Release, known as Jūgo. With each punch and kick, explosions ripped through the forest, causing devastation second only to Ōnoki's Dust Release.

I can't let this guy continue rampaging, Baishi thought grimly.

Directing his vines toward Jūgo, Baishi attempted to entangle him.

However, Jūgo's combat experience was unmatched. He met the vines head-on, detonating them before they could reach him.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The explosions rang out incessantly. Within moments, Baishi realized that continuing this clash would drain his chakra rapidly without achieving anything.

Fortunately, just as Baishi was running out of options, the Aburame Anbu, who had remained inconspicuous until now, made his move.

From his body, a swarm of insects poured out, darkening the sky as they swarmed toward Jūgo.

Despite Jūgo's destructive capabilities, he struggled against the insects. Their sheer numbers and the Aburame's precise control hindered him significantly.

With Jūgo tied down, Baishi felt a weight lifted from his shoulders. He redirected his focus to supporting Elephant and the others, ensuring they could hold out a little longer.

But it was a race against time.

The Konoha Anbu's chakra reserves were depleting fast. Once they ran out, there would be no saving them.

The Iwa ninja seemed to know this as well. Rather than pressing a full assault, they maintained a steady pressure, biding their time for the inevitable collapse.

---

Time ticked by, and the situation grew increasingly dire.

Elephant and the others attempted several breakouts but were repeatedly forced back.

"Jia, prepare to move. We're making one last attempt," came a voice in Baishi's mind.

It was the Yamanaka Anbu, using his clan's Mind Communication Technique to relay the plan.

But unlike before, Baishi refused.

He replied calmly, "Just hold the line. That's all you need to do."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, don't do anything. Just maintain the current situation."

After a pause, the Yamanaka replied, "Understood."

---

Unseen by everyone, a single vine burrowed deep into the earth, extending far beyond the battlefield.

The Four Beast Suppression Formation limited Baishi's sensory range to just seventy meters. However, the formation's boundary lay nearly two hundred meters away—too far to sense any of his teleportation markers.

Baishi had devised a workaround.

At the tip of the vine, he inscribed a Flying Thunder God seal, then let the vine grow stealthily outward. Each time the vine's tip extended beyond his sensory range, he would inscribe a new seal.

When the third seal finally moved beyond the formation's boundary, Baishi would know he had reached safety.

At that point, he would teleport out.
