Time ticked by as Baishi continued channeling his chakra into the seal.
Finally, with a sharp tearing sound echoing through the void, Baishi felt the alternate dimension begin to detach from the shinobi world.
However, now was not the time to celebrate. He needed to seize this opportunity to seal the space completely. If he delayed, the spatial coordinates could be lost forever.
Thinking this, Baishi's hands moved swiftly as he formed another set of seals.
As the seals activated, the sealing script beneath his feet transformed, becoming part of the Heaven-Sealing Mark. The patterns spread outward rapidly, soon connecting to the seal in the sky above.
"This is it!"

Like his Illusion Ring, this new ring was created using his Wood Release, the only technique compatible with sealing an alternate dimension.
Suddenly, black, distorted lines began to spread across the ring, originating near the wooden patterns.
At first, these black marks were faint and sparse, but they grew more numerous and pronounced over time, until the entire ring turned pitch black.
These black lines were, in fact, the Heaven-Sealing Mark encapsulating the alternate dimension.
Baishi had deliberately positioned himself at the dimension's connection point to the shinobi world.
Only at this precise spot could the Heaven-Sealing Mark anchor itself onto the ring, transforming it into the spatial ring Baishi had envisioned.
If not for this requirement, Baishi wouldn't have chosen to work so close to Iwagakure, especially given the chaos around him.
The surrounding area was in turmoil, with fierce winds howling and lightning flashing across the sky. The air shimmered with distortions, and spatial fissures appeared intermittently.
The apocalyptic scene would leave most people trembling, but Baishi remained composed.
He wasn't fearless, but he was confident that the chaotic phenomena posed no real threat to him.

From his vantage point, Baishi could see armed Iwa-nin rushing toward the mountain. Their destination was unmistakably the very peak he occupied.
"I need to speed this up," Baishi thought.
With that, he intensified the chakra flow into the seal.
As more chakra poured in, the Heaven-Sealing Mark within the ring neared completion. Once it fully manifested, the alternate dimension would be completely sealed. The final step would be to inscribe the Flying Thunder God: Guiding Lightning formula onto the ring, enabling seamless access to the sealed space.
But the Iwa-nin clearly had no intention of letting Baishi finish his work uninterrupted.
The scouting team from Iwagakure picked up their pace as the commotion on the mountain intensified.
A few minutes later, they reached the perimeter of the chaos.
Seeing the cataclysmic scene before them, one of the chūnin murmured, "What the hell is going on here? What's in there?"
The group fell silent, none of them able to answer.
Finally, a jōnin stepped forward. "Cangshi, can you sense anything inside?"
The sensor-nin known as Cangshi had his eyes closed, straining to discern what lay within the chaotic energy. The turbulent environment severely hampered his sensing abilities.
Still, he managed to detect Baishi's presence.
Compared to the chaotic surroundings, Baishi's immense chakra stood out like a beacon.
Even though Baishi had distributed much of his chakra among his four wood clones, the reserves in his body remained substantial. Moreover, his constant absorption of Kurama's chakra added to his already formidable presence.
This surplus of energy made Baishi impossible to miss.
Sensing someone probing his location, Baishi frowned slightly. With a soft snort, he released an invisible pulse aimed directly at the intruder's mind.

Cangshi, hearing the jōnin's question, opened his eyes and reported gravely, "There's a ninja inside. His chakra levels are enormous."
"A ninja? What is he doing in there?"
"I…"
Cangshi began to speak but suddenly let out a scream and collapsed to the ground.
"Cangshi!"
The other Iwa-nin were startled, immediately adopting defensive stances while calling out to him.
One second.
Two seconds.
Three seconds...
Ten seconds passed, and aside from the raging storm, nothing else happened.
Seeing no immediate danger, the jōnin crouched beside Cangshi to check his condition. What he found left him stunned.
Cangshi was barely breathing, his face pale, and blood trickled from his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth.
The jōnin initially suspected backlash from a sensing technique, but the extent of Cangshi's injuries was too severe for that.
Further examination revealed that the damage wasn't spiritual but physical. It was as if Cangshi's head had suffered a massive blow, leaving his brain gravely injured.
Yet the jōnin knew for a fact that no physical attack had occurred. He had been watching Cangshi the entire time, and nothing—no enemy, no weapon—had come near him.
The truth was that Cangshi had been struck by an infrasound wave attack.
Baishi had been working on such a technique for months, inspired by his earlier efforts to resolve the sonic boom issue with his flight jutsu.
Progress had been slow initially, but after his Five Sense Enhancement advanced, significantly boosting his hearing, development accelerated.
Recently, Baishi had finally perfected the infrasound wave technique.
Earlier, his seemingly innocuous snort had carried an infrasound wave, guided by chakra, directly into Cangshi's brain.
The resulting resonance inflicted severe internal damage, rendering the sensor-nin unconscious.
This was the sinister nature of infrasound jutsu: invisible and imperceptible, yet devastatingly effective.
While the technique wasn't lethal against seasoned ninja with ample chakra reserves, it was perfect for incapacitating weaker opponents.
