'In the end, they still couldn't hold themselves back.'
A rebel with ash colored hair lowered his binoculars and sneered. The attitude of the Red Desert Army was very laughable.
What, did they expect the rebels to fall down and die like docile, meek lambs without retaliating?
What a joke; they all came to make money!
Money could only be spent if they were alive!
There was no way they were going to let the Red Desert Army kill them that easily, not without putting up a fight and killing the soldiers!
'You were right Mr. Ruuy. They're not thinking straight. They'll walk right into our trap,' a rebel beside the ash haired rebel fawned, looking at him with reverence.
Mr. Ruuy was a bigshot in the rebel coalition.
He was a filthy rich businessman who made his profit from mining energy and selling it to the highest bidder.
When the King's edict, prohibiting the mining and sale of energy resources was passed, he was one of the few businessmen who disobeyed, decisively leaving the city and heading to the desert with other rebels!
Despite not being a Super himself, he had pulled along his Super guards too, to join the rebel coalition.
Mr. Ruuy had drawn up a foolproof plan to deal with the powerful soldiers.
If it went as expected, none of those foolish soldiers charging over at them, and even other soldiers attacking rebel outposts, would survive!
'Mm, everything's going according to plan. There's no rush. We paid a lot of money for these Predator war machines. It should be more than enough to deal with Energy Condensation and Energy Core Formation Supers,' Mr. Ruuy nodded.
In the slim possibility that something went wrong, he still had a backup plan.
Subconsciously, he looked at a neighboring hill on his right side. There were three Energy Core Formation experts hiding there, waiting to strike!
The attacking soldiers instantly became visible to the rebels who occupied high ground.
There was a soldier with red hair and glowing fists leading the charge. He gave of the frightening aura of an Energy Core Formation expert!
'Most definitely a Pugilist…' Mr. Ruuy observed.
His gaze flitted to the other soldiers to evaluate their threat level.
There was another soldier with dark hair, holding no visible weapons. His fists didn't have the glow of Pugilistic arts though.
'Esper.'
Closely behind the dark haired soldier were two ladies. Surprisingly, the shorter of the two females, a woman with red pixie hair, was carrying a brunette on her back!
'Hm?' Mr. Ruuy was baffled.
Who carried their comrades into battle?
Didn't the brunette have legs? Or was she a cripple?
'Weird but I don't think it will cause any trouble,' Mr. Ruuy decided to ignore the strange behaviour of the two women.
What caused his brow to furrow though was the soldier with bat-like wings in the sky.
Beside him, the other rebel noticed him too and became solemn. 'That's the soldier who fired a bullet at the Predator. Look at that sniper rifle in his hand!'
Mr. Ruuy frowned.
The winged sniper was definitely going to be a huge problem.
Against the soldiers, they had only one chance to attack and wipe them out completely; the moment the soldiers noticed something wrong, they would flee!
And as this soldier had wings, his chances of escape were far higher than those running on the ground.
Besides, the sniper rifle in his hand was another problem too.
The Predator in itself, was a tough machine which couldn't easily be taken down by ordinary sniper rounds.
What was weaker though was the cloaking device that had been attached to it to prevent the soldiers from noticing that it wasn't a Seeker!
A Predator war machine was easily identifiable, especially to military personnel.
But what gave Mr. Ruuy confidence in his plan, was that the Predator and the Seeker shared one thing in common; tripod legs!
It was just a matter of obscuring the glaring features which gave away the Predator with a cloaking device, making it pass for a normal Seeker.
This would incense the soldiers, making them charge to their deaths and avoid examining it more properly.
But if the sniper happened to fire again, the cloaking device would instantly be destroyed!
Once the soldiers realized it wasn't a Seeker but rather a Predator, they would flee without hesitation.
If even one soldier managed to escape from the trap and reported what was going on, the army would definitely take drastic measures, causing the rebels to suffer even more losses.
Sensing his worry, the rebel asked, 'Should we fire right now?'
After some thought, Mr. Ruuy shook his head.
On such a short notice, the Predator they had procured had some flaws, such as its short attack range.
At the very least, the enemy Supers had to be within fifty meters to ensure a 100% hit rate.
And besides, he wanted to take this opportunity to weed out his competition!
Mr. Ruuy's gaze darkened as he looked at the rebel forces at the periphery of the hills. 'There isn't enough energy for every rebel to make profit… some have to die.'
At the end of the day, dealing with the soldiers wasn't the main goal.
Rather, the main goal was to make profit!
The fewer rebels there were, the greater profit he and the other bigshots would make!
That was why all this while, they had turned a blind eye to the massacre of various rebel forces by the Red Desert Army.
The army was helping them with the unpleasant task of removing their competitors!
Naturally, Mr. Ruuy hoped to eliminate the attacking soldiers and the rebels at the periphery in one fell swoop.
'Wait till the rebels at the outer edges clash with the Supers. It is a necessary sacrifice we have to make,' Mr. Ruuy replied, his gaze hypocritically sorrowful.
But inwardly, he smirked.
'Sorry but you have to die… no hard feelings; it's just business…'
