Chapter 9 - What is it like to be loved ?

Ella greeted Ms.Luna with caution. Ms.Luna noticed and maintained a distance to make Ella feel safe, she informed that the names on the sheet of paper were the drug addict survivors and were recovering in their houses after being rescued by the police officers three years ago. It was the time when Mr.Lee resigned for not being able to save the remaining survivors but his life was unfortunately caught up in the dark market and was under the constant survey of the drug kingpin. "He asked me to assist you from the shadows, you can ring my number whenever you want to escape. But let me remind you there is no going back. I'll help you contact the kids parents." said Ms.Luna with a heavy heart.

Ella packed some of her essentials and head straight to meet the first drug addict survivor, his name was Collen. His mother invited her to their house. He was around seventeen years but he wasn't in his right mind. His parents were very attentive towards him. Collen's mother spoke out that he was very timid and responsible as a kid and never complainted about how both his parents were working and couldn't give much of their time to him but he then began to change, he started rebelling and his grades began to drop but they were reluctant to say anything to him and prohibited him from going out. Later he never came out of his room but one day they had a huge argument and he ran out of the home and never returned. His parents sticked missing posters all around the town and contacted the police but it was of no use. After a year and half, the police rescued him from the black market where he was confined by the chains, he had lifeless eyes when they found him, Collen's mother broke out of tears. "He didn't choose this life or the people around him, so why did he have to hide the pain within himself? He was an innocent child meant to be loved but learned of suffering at such an young age because I wasn't able to protect the life which I had sworn to protect, I wasn't an adult, I am no where close to be an adult. " said Collen's mother. Ella stepped out for a movement and sat down on a big rock by the beach. The sun was setting and tears rolled down her cheek, maybe because Collen's mother healed the heart of a kid named Ella and maybe because those were the words she desperately wished to hear as a child. A small kid wanting someone to trust her and protect her.

Ella was about to head into Collen's house after wiping her tears when all of a sudden Collen showed up, he had clear eyes and showed no signs of his mental disorder.
