Chapter 1 - Prologue

"In the distant past, a mystery of the world occurred from the Netherworld. Grabbing any living beings made by The Ultimate Ruler of heavens, attempting to destroy His creations. At first, humanity did not realise the evil. Then slowly but surely, everyone knew the danger as abnormal. After years of wondering, human kind finally understands. Thus, the mysterious energy was given the name; Lapsus."

The book is closed. I turned and see Alan holding it, clearly trying his best to keep his laugh. He stood up and toss the book away, "I wonder why they made a children's book to be worded like that..." He said walking closer to me. I watched his hair flew with the wind, and I giggled with him.

"What are you reading, Alan? Why did you even have that?" I asked. The thought of my friend, a full grown man, reading a children's book is funny to me. Especially knowing he wasn't the type to touch anything childish or cutesy.

"A childhood book. I found it randomly under my bed and I thought reading it to you would be hilarious." He answered, still trying to contain his laugh.

"Anyway, why am I here again?" He cleared his throat from laughter. His face turned from a grinning jerk to serious under a second. Though, I can almost see his slight smile.

"Are you actually so forgetful? We're here for a mission, Alan." I tapped his shoulder while reaching for my phone. I showed him an email, and I purposefully turned my brightness to maximum for the purpose of annoying him. He hates the bright phone screens for no reason.
