"That's some nasty name you gave me," Feathered Nightmare said.
Grandma said, "Don't you blame him. He's the savior of my Vikram. There's no way he's dangerous."
Ansh, pointing a gun towards him, said, "Just leave this house or I will..." He was trembling in fear but still had the courage to say it.
Feathered walked towards Grandma. Aditya shouted, but in a low and tense voice, "Don't you dare do anything to her."
Feathered ignored his words. Grandma said, "Tell them, your gods sent a savior, right?"
"Gods? Ah... the gods who are in a comfortable place, sitting and ignoring our problems by sleeping in the name of meditating," Feathered said in a calm, questionable voice. "Your good grandmother. Now ask them, why don't they help in time?"
He spread his wings and surrounded Grandma. Aditya stood on his leg to see what happened. No screams, no words came from Grandma's mouth, except for the blood on the floor.
Anu, Ansh, and Aditya were left in shock as they saw the view that Feathered showed them. Grandma was covered in feathers from every corner. You couldn't even see her—just feathers everywhere.
Anu placed her hand on her mouth and screamed, "Ahhhhhhhh! Mom!"
Feathered put one finger to his mouth. "Shh... no shouting," he said in a very menacing way.
"How dare you!" Aditya yelled, jumping at Feathered. He punched, kicked, lifted tables, and threw them at him, but nothing happened.
Ansh said, "Aditya, step back, it's dangerous," in a fearful but courageous voice.
Vikram rushed from the bathroom into the hall. As he saw blood on the floor, his face turned to a question mark. He went inside. "What's going on here?" he asked, as he saw Feathered standing, Ansh and Anu holding Aditya, who was screaming in pain because one of his legs was gone.
Anu cried, "Oh God, what's happening here? Aditya! Aditya!" She was crying in confusion and hopelessness.
Vikram just stood there in shock. Feathered walked in front of him, that 8-foot figure so massive in front of him.
"Take this. Try to open it and see what's inside, or your family will be gone," Feathered said.
Vikram took the box from him. He looked at his family, saw his mom crying, and his father in pain. He said, "Will you... Will you really spare them?"
"Yes, I will," Feathered said.
Vikram thought, Does he really save me that time, as Grandma said? Then his mind clicked. He once again saw the blood on the floor and looked at that giant feathered ball in a human shape. His eyes filled with tears. He said, "Grandma..."
Feathered said, "Hurry up, or next will be your mom."
Vikram looked at Feathered and then opened the box. There was nothing inside.
"Nothing, huh? Look again," Feathered said.
Vikram muttered something, and then Feathered backed down into a defensive position. He was in tension because Vikram's eyes turned with golden rings around the pupils, and his body started emitting golden steam. His bones began to turn golden and glow.
Feathered smiled and said, "Finally, after thirteen million, five hundred sixty-three thousand, eight hundred ninety-seven failed results, you awakened God's chosen."
Feathred screamed in joy.
"Now leave my house at once," Vikram said in a very different tone, with an unshakable voice.
Ansh said, "What happened to you?"
Anu and Aditya just looked at Vikram. "No, no, no! I said I will spare them, not you, my prey," Feathered said, grabbing Vikram's face and lifting him into the air, breaking the ceiling.
Using Vikram's power, Feathered didn't take much damage, just flying somewhere.
Vikram thought, I really didn't care or believe in what my grandma said, but still, I'm happy. Whenever I thought I got saved by the gods, but no, you're not... you killed my grandma who believed in you.
I didn't know why. Even if I am in the air, with this Black Bird taking me somewhere and grabbing my face, I still didn't feel fear, just a desire to see his dead face.
Vikram grabbed Feathered's hand that was holding his face and kicked him in the guts. The invincible Feathered coughed blood and went flying. Vikram fell down as Feathered released his face, but as he saw Feathered come flying back, yelling "Vikram!" in an angry mood, he kicked Vikram's face, sending him flying toward a building.
Vikram cried out, "Ouf! Ouf!" He tried to stand up. "Who are you? How did you come... ahhh, you broke my wall!" a man shouted at Vikram.
Feathered came flying and stood between the man and Vikram, who was on his knees on the floor. He hit the man with his wing while, at the same time, moving his hip. He grabbed Vikram's neck, holding him in the air.
Vikram tried to free himself, but Feathered put him on the floor and started flying, breaking every single floor with Vikram's body, finally smashing him to the ground.
Vikram was almost in a condition of passing out.
Feathered grabbed the bloody, rolling eyes of Vikram by the collar and started walking. "You're lucky I have orders to not kill you."
Vikram just remembered what happened with Onna. She came into my life in a very bizarre way. She told me she knew Bird Guy. I thought he was real. He really saved my life. She really got along with Mom and Dad and treated her like his own daughter. That made me jealous. But most importantly, I liked her bold moves, despite being different from humans. Still, I fell for her. And what is this mess after I came back from the date? What did he give me? A box. What's written in it?
"Triṁśat-siṁhāsanaṁ māṁ parīkṣya varaṁ dadātu."
