After uttering those words to Tasha, Anthony commenced the meeting, standing confidently in front of everyone in the room. "So, guys, our next expedition is scheduled to take place tomorrow morning," he announced, his voice clear and authoritative. "Unfortunately, most of our supplies have depleted, and we need to head to the supermarkets on Willow's Street to replenish them."
He paused, surveying the room before continuing. "From our previous experiences, we know that survivors often tend to congregate in places like supermarkets. Therefore, gaining entry might be challenging. However, I have every confidence that you'll figure out a way to overcome any obstacles."
Anthony emphasized, "Your primary objectives are to gather as many essential supplies as possible and ensure your safety above all else."
"If you encounter any unusual situations or come across a hostile creature that you're unable to handle, don't hesitate to call for backup," Anthony instructed, his tone serious. "Your safety is our utmost priority, and we must look out for each other." With that, Anthony concluded his speech.
Just then, Gunther spoke up from his seated position, adding a crucial reminder. "Additionally, it's essential that we avoid areas where the meteor fragments have fallen, as they may pose significant risks to our safety."
Everyone nodded in acknowledgement, their expressions somber and reflective, as the gravity of Gunther's words sank in. With the importance of caution duly noted, the meeting came to a close, and the attendees began to file out of the room.
However, before Simbi could make her exit, Anthony called out to her, his voice firm but polite. "Could you please stay behind for a moment?" he requested, his eyes also locking onto Gunther and several other senior executive members, including Tasha. The group lingered, their curiosity piqued, as they wondered what additional discussions or decisions required their attention.
Meanwhile, Dave had wasted no time slipping out of the meeting room, intent on retreating to the solitude of his quarters as he was quite weary. However, his attempt at a discreet exit was thwarted as he navigated the bustling corridors of the Casino base.
It became increasingly apparent that his fight with Ajax had sparked a flurry of interest within the casino, as numerous individuals couldn't help but steal glances at him. Their hushed whispers and furtive murmurs trailing in his wake.
The news of his impressive victory, achieved with a single, decisive punch, had spread like wildfire throughout the base, captivating the attention of everyone, from the young to the old.
Moreover, Dave's appointment into position, having been appointed as an executive member within a mere 24 hours of joining the group of survivors in the casino base, had only served to further fuel the intrigue surrounding him.
As Dave navigated the corridors, he became aware of the varied reactions his presence elicited. Some individuals regarded him with admiration, their eyes wide with wonder at his impressive feat and rapid ascent through the ranks.
Conversely, others harbored envy, their expressions tinged with resentment and discontent. However, Dave remained impervious to these reactions, his focus directed inward as he grappled with more pressing concerns.
Upon entering his assigned quarters, Dave was struck by the eerie silence that greeted him. The room, which he had expected to be bustling with activity, was instead deserted, devoid of any signs of life.
Dave didn't dwell on this unusual circumstance, attributing it to his own lack of interaction with the other members. With a shrug, he dismissed the thought and made his way to the bed, feeling an overwhelming sense of fatigue wash over him.
He lay down, allowing the softness of the mattress to envelop him, and closed his eyes, letting the stillness of the room pull him into a state of relaxation.
But just before dozing off, he still had one more thing to check out, and that was the system. Bringing up the system, he could see that he had a couple of messages that he was yet to read. But the first one to pop up was the one from when he had encountered Gunther and the rest of the group.
Surprisingly, the system had awarded him for the beasts that his tamed beasts had defeated.
[58 beasts defeated]
[You have received 580 Exp]
[Daily Quest completed! Defeat at least ten beast in a day]
[You have received 100 Exp]
Next up, it had shown the reward he received from defeating Ajax.
[You have received 100 Exp]
[Total Exp: 780 Exp]
[Level up points (0) : 780/1999 Exp]
Just a few more Exps and he would be getting a level up point. And this seems to be the end of all the messages. Almost right after, Dave had soon fall into a daze, unaware of what was going on in his surroundings, as he was now in an entirely different realm. It looks similar to a dream but he wasn't exactly in a dream.
Standing all alone by the sea shore was a blue skinned man with dark shades, and with no shirt on. Behind him was a great number of tall, huge beasts, seemingly appearing to be thrice taller than the man himself.
They weren't ordinary beasts, as they were able to stand on their toes. And surprisingly, they could talk as well. They were what Dave could only describe to be a humanoid beast. With their posture and all, it was no doubt that they were indeed humanoid beasts.
Dave could find himself standing in between these group of humanoid beasts, strangely none of them seem to be attacking him or anything, neither were they even paying him any attention.
Just like the man at the shore, he also appeared to be far smaller than the beasts around him, perhaps that was why they hadn't notice him. He was at the very back of the group, but he was still able to see all what was going on at the front through the gaps and holes from the foots of the humanoid beasts.
Right at that moment, the man had started speaking. It was in a low tone as if he was speaking to himself, but Dave could hear his words clearly as if he was speaking directly into his mind.
"Ah finally! My plan is already in motion, those weak minded creatures called humans would soon be wiped out within the next two months. I wanted to have some little fun that's why I gave a couple of them some things to survive and fight back with!"
"Let's just wait and see how they're able to survive with those superpowers. Eventually, they will run out of food and would soon start to kill each other… superpower or not. Ah! What a nice way to spend my retirement break!"
The bare chested man had burst into laughter as he said this. Oddly, the sky seems to be rumbling in response to his laughter and almost at that moment, it had started falling heavily. Dave could only place his hands above his face as the rain seems to be falling heavily on him.
He closed his eyes and opened them, only to find himself back in reality, in the casino base. As for where he was laying down, the bed seems to have been drenched with water.
