Chapter 11 - The First Display of Power(2)

The captain didn't care whether Arohan liked it and pointed at one soldier on the back.

"You come forward and test his limits."

He ordered. The soldier immediately stepped forward, saluted the captain, and looked up and down at Arohan.

"Okay, let's do this."

Arohan commented after a long sigh of helplessness.

He then stepped forward, but was stopped by a nearby soldier, who pointed at the weapon rack, gesturing him to pick one.

The majority of the weapons in the weapon rack were made of wood for practice, so Arohan picked a wooden katana

He had seen many of these in fantasy shows on Earth, so he decided to check how it felt to battle with a katana.

It wasn't that he was nervous about what was going to happen in the fight, but for some reason, his heart had completely calmed down once he accepted the battle.

With the wooden katana in his hand, Arohan walked to the small sandy battle arena. The opponent was already there waiting for him, and he was a heavy weaponry user, holding a gigantic wooden hammer.

"Start!"

The captain announced and the soldier immediately made his move. Even with the heavy hammer, his movements weren't dull.

In the time it took for Arohan to steady himself with a fighting katana posture, the soldier was already there, ready to smash his hammer.

'Move to the left!'

At that moment, a voice rang in his head. Arohan was too surprised by the sudden situation in the battle to follow the voice. But his body suddenly moved to the left on its own, surprising not only him but also everyone in the area.

The captain was the most surprised one since he could see the surprise in Arohan's eyes and knew which movements were normal and forced.

The sudden dodge to the left made by Arohan wasn't a natural movement at all. It was slightly stiff as if the body jerked to the left in a hurry.

But since the opponent was also a mortal soldier, even that dodge was more than enough.

'Slash!'

The voice rang once again, but this time Arohan tried to follow it. But how could his movement speed be quicker than the time it took to come around to senses?

Before he could slash, the opponent attacked once again, forcing Arohan's body to jerk backward.

He felt extremely uncomfortable at that moment as the sudden jerking of his body shook his internal organs. He would rather get hit by the hammer than feel so uncomfortable.

But at the same time, he didn't notice that he was slowly getting accustomed to the voice in his head. Even though his movement speed couldn't follow the command quickly enough, but they were getting better every second.

Time flew by, and thirty seconds later, Arohan gave up on the battle. His body could no longer bear that kind of intensity. After giving up, he immediately crashed to the ground, taking deep breaths.

The soldier was also in a tough situation, but as he was a soldier, his endurance was clearly better than Arohan's, so he still stood straight.

'Is it instinct or does he have an artifact that helps him do that?'

The captain was deep in thought after the fight ended. He could see if Arohan's body hadn't given up, he would have been able to win in the end.

Their group only hired elites of the city when it came to combat, so the soldier fighting Arohan wasn't a nobody, but a good talent. And from the way Arohan's movements were, it was clear that he wasn't lying when he said he hadn't fought before.

And even then, he came close to defeating a soldier of their group.

He had heard that whenever an alien from other planes arrived on Yavar, they had their own opportunities as Gods don't give up on mortals.

'Why do I need to care whether it is his instinct or an artifact? I should be happy that I've gotten such a great talent and if he can fully unleash it, Trita will also have a powerful giant as a supporter.'

The captain thought. He had a gut feeling that Arohan was going to make it big.

"Let him rest for two hours and then bring him to my room."

The captain ordered and then left the tent. The others in the area were surprised since it had been quite long since the captain summoned anyone to his room. The looks they gave Arohan had completely changed.

Arohan was surprised by the sudden order, but he couldn't care much about it in his condition.

"Do you want to die, you disgusting bastard?"

Arohan yelled angrily with a drool as he was jerked awake.

The next moment, his face turned pale as he remembered he was no longer on earth and looked at the man.

Arohan breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that the man didn't understand him since he voiced out those profanities in his native tongue.

"Sir, what do you want?"

Arohan asked with a gentle smile. The drool was still there with some of it dried up.

"The captain has summoned you!"

"Okay, let's go!"

Arohan immediately climbed down from the bed and walked toward the exit.

"Wash your face first!"

The soldier frowned.

"Hello, Captain!"

Arohan respectfully greeted the man and saluted with the back of his two right fingers touching his forehead.

"What gesture is that?"

The captain asked.

"It's just a way to show respect on my planet."

"Do you mean it?"

"Of course. Do you think I am such a shallow person who would show respect to you when I am afraid of you?"

"Yes!"

"Okay, no need to waste time like that. I summoned you here to let you know that you have been accepted to this group of soldiers."

"You have three days to prepare and then you will begin your training."
