I was walking through the halls when I overheard two maid gossiping.
" I heard Lady Vanessa visited the emperor today in his study room." The first maid said.
"Really? Of course, Lay Vanessa is his majesty'slover. They have been together since his majesty was young." Second maid said.
" It's a sad story for her majesty who's a good and kind hearted woman." First maid said.
"Lady Vanessa is not a good person. I don't know why his majesty can't see that." Second maid said.
"She has favour from the emperor and his father, Minister Enosh. " First maid said.
"Does her majesty knows there's no future for her here? She should just run along." Second maid said.
"Cough, cough " Dorcas coughed to get their attention. They were surprised to see me there.
"We're sorry your majesty. "They began to shiver.
"No need. Please continue your work." I said and walked away.
"Dorcas, tell me the truth. Does his majesty has a lover?" I asked with a smile. Who could tell I was annoyed or not.
"Yes, please." She answered with her head lowered.
" For how long?" I asked.
"Lady Vanessa has been his majesty's friend since young. It has been over five years now." She answered.
I only nodded. I wanted to laugh out loud, but I had to pretend to be sad. I said nothing. I couldn't believe that tyrant man has a heart to fall in love. I should actually praise that woman who was able to melt his heart. I'm free now. I had to worry no more about this marriage. Very soon, I would be free. HALLELUJAH !I exclaimed in my mind excitedly.
Vanessa visited her father in his office.
"How was it?" He asked.
"He fell for it. We are together again." She said and laughed Scilly.
"Continue to tie him under you. After you get the throne, we will kill him. Hope you're giving him the medicine?" Minister Enosh said evilly.
" Yes, and don't worry, he's a fool." She said.
"Don't forget to continue giving him yourself. Let him be under your control." He said.
" He can never go anywhere." They laughed evilly.
"I will try my best to annihilate the empress as well." He said coldly.
I moved to my study room . I looked more happier than ever. The flowers were growing well. The royal harem's problems were almost done. The project on the portable water was still on-going. In two days, i was going to visit the orphanage. Report showed they were also contributing great as well.
Things were going well. Now that I've heard he had a lover, I was planning on helping them, so I could leave faster. Dorcas went out to get me a book in the library. I looked around the study room closely. I saw a half short rectangular door at the far right. I moved towards it and unlocked the padlock with my skills I learnt from Asa. I opened the door and was shown many instruments. Some were flutes, harp, lure. The other side had a hidden piano. I removed the clothe and tried the keys. They worked perfectly.
I cleaned the dirt on each instruments and tried them. They all worked perfectly. This was the room of the former empress. Could it be all these belonged to her? I was glad I wouldn't at least be bored.
I brought out the harp and started playing the strings. Before I knew it, I was lost in it. I played a particular song. I was engrossed in the song I didn't know Dorcas, Mabel and Samanta were back. Even Lamech entered when he heard the music.
"Her majesty is amazing. " I heard claps from them after I was done. I opened my eyes and saw their proud yet teary eyed.
"It was so touching. It felt like Empress Beatrix. " Dorcas said.
"Was all these for her?" I asked.
"Yes, your majesty."
"I hope you don't mind me using them?" I asked
"Not at all." She answered.
"Dorcas, please, I want to go to the best instruments shop tomorrow."
"I will make arrangements. " She said."Here's the book and a letter for her majesty." She added. I gladly accepted the letter and thanked her. I read the letter and was excited. Mom was well but not that good. Her fitness was better than before.
I went to the library which Dorcas has talked so much about. It was a little close to his majesty'splace which I hated. That wouldn't stop me from reading stories.
I stayed there for hours. I didn't want to leave the library. Dorcas said it was already supper, but I didn't want to leave. The smell of books and interesting stories didn't make me wanna leave.
Supper passed thirty minutes but I was still in the library. I was reading when a familiar scent entered the place. He forcibly closed the book I was reading.
"Don't you know it's supper?" He asked coldly. I looked up at him and smiled.
"Why does his majesty asks?" I asked politely.
"Follow me to the dinning hall." He ordered coldly. He held my hand forcing me out. I pulled my hand forcibly.
"If his majesty is hungry, he can go have dinner. Why does his majesty wants me around ? I'm not hungry. Has his majesty forgotten he's always uncomfortable with a mannerless girl like me? You don't have to pretend, we're in the palace." I said with a smile. They way I am,if I don't want to show you my anger, no matter what, you will never see it.
I picked the book and walked out on hm. Hw just stared at me annoued. I'm not like those chumps who will be fooled or scared of your coldness. I can be much colder than him.
I entered my room and asked Does to prepare my bath. She looked at me as if she wanted to say something.
"I know what I said but he's very annoying." I explained. "I'm sorry." I added.
"Her majesty isn't annoyed that his majesty already has a lover and is planning on marrying her instead of you?" Asked Dorcas.
"No. I'm instead delirious. I never once wanted this like him. I'm glad a tyrant Emperor like him could also be willing to love." I said.
We went to the bathroom and I took my shower. I was thinking of my visit to the shop. Early morning, I had breakfast alone. Dorcas arranged everything and I moved out. Looking outside, I wanted to imprint everything in my head so that, I can describe everything to Asa. I wished there was a way for me to go there or for them to come here. I missed them a lot.
