Chapter 383 - Chapter 383: If You Can't Figure It Out, Just Consider Yourself Unlucky

"Besides, he also has the intention of restructuring the Shimura clan. Otherwise, do you think things would have escalated this much?"

Shimura Danzo might lack self-awareness, but the Shimura clan as a whole? They should have seen this coming.

The Third Hokage sighed inwardly. I, Hiruzen Sarutobi, have helped you in every way possible, but I won't let you continue to create chaos under Danzo's lead. Since you like stirring things up, I'll help you—but not without teaching you a painful lesson first.

Since the action against the Shimura clan began, the Third Hokage had maintained an air of helplessness, masking his calculated moves.

"You people are really..." Tsunade began, but she swallowed the rest of her sentence, knowing the Shimura clan had brought this upon themselves. She decided not to push further, considering her relationship with the Hokage and her own position.

"According to the agreements with Iwa and Cloud, their delegations will arrive in Konoha soon. What if they see this mess?" she asked.

Shinki scoffed. "What's the big deal? It's nothing shameful."

He continued, smirking, "Don't overthink it. Iwa and Cloud are dealing with far worse issues than us. We're all in the same boat, so there's no point laughing at each other."

Even if the visiting delegations from Iwa and Cloud noticed Konoha's internal struggles, it wouldn't matter. Konoha's domestic affairs were no concern of theirs. Ohnoki and the Third Raikage weren't the type to get involved in another village's drama. They'd focus on the negotiations and steer clear of trouble.

Tsunade nodded reluctantly. "How long will this operation against the Shimura clan continue?"

"Not sure," Shinki replied, yawning. "Depends on how long it takes for the Shimura clan and Shimura Danzo to finally break ties."

"Fine, do whatever you want. I'm heading to Konoha Hospital; patients are waiting for me." Tsunade slapped away Shinki's wandering hand as he tried to grab her coat, then left the house to attend to her duties.

As Shinki settled back, ready to take a nap, Kushina burst in like a whirlwind.

"Shinki! When can my plan start?"

Ever since the strategy to deal with Mist and Cloud was outlined, Kushina had been itching for action. Her patience was running thin.

"Soon," Shinki replied lazily. "Just prepare yourself and rest for now. Once the foreign delegations leave Konoha, you'll get your chance."

Revenge had to wait for the right moment. Acting while the delegations were present would jeopardize Konoha's negotiations. Shinki anticipated that the Third Hokage would lean toward forming an alliance with Cloud, given the strategic advantage it offered over Iwa.

Shinki chuckled at the thought. If Konoha allied with Cloud, it would be ironic if Kushina's actions dragged the village into another conflict with them. The Third Hokage's reaction would be priceless.

Kushina didn't fully understand Shinki's amusement, but his reassurances put her at ease. Happily, she ran off to prepare for her mission and spend time with her friends before leaving. She indulged in shopping sprees, living by Shinki's words: The saddest thing in life is to die with unspent money.

Meanwhile, the Shimura clan's problems continued to escalate. Danzo stayed behind closed doors, refusing to take responsibility. The Third Hokage, maintaining his stance of helplessness, made it clear he wouldn't intervene further. Desperate, the Shimura clan turned to Mitokado Homura for assistance.

Homura was unimpressed. "A clan this large, and no one can take charge?" he muttered, shaking his head. "Your problem is simple: you're too closely tied to Danzo."

The Shimura clan was left speechless. Danzo was their own family—how could they distance themselves from him?

The Shimura clan's indecisiveness only deepened their troubles. Their attempts to maintain loyalty to Danzo while resolving their issues proved futile. Even the Hokage's previously supportive stance had disappeared.

The reality was harsh: If you can't figure out the problem, consider yourself unlucky.

Days passed, and Konoha's awaited guests began to arrive. The first to appear was the Sand delegation, followed by Iwa, with Ohnoki himself leading their group. The Third Raikage was the last to arrive. As expected, Mist Village sent no representatives due to their ongoing internal strife.

The negotiation meeting was deliberately kept small. Konoha's side included the Third Hokage, the two elder advisors, and Shinki. Each delegation similarly limited their participants: Ohnoki for Iwa, Chiyo for Sand, and the Third Raikage for Cloud.

Their gesture of arriving without guards or assistants was a show of respect to Konoha.

The meeting room was quiet and formal—until Shinki strolled in, casually holding a plate of freshly made egg pancakes.

"Good morning, everyone," he said, taking a bite of his breakfast.

The room fell silent, stunned by his nonchalant behavior.

"..."

The other attendees stared, unsure whether to be amused or offended.

Shinki simply smiled and sat down, unfazed by their reactions. He was here to negotiate, but that didn't mean he couldn't enjoy his breakfast.
