From the start, the Third Raikage showed no intention of holding back.
The Third Hokage, watching from the sidelines, was on edge. His concerns were twofold: he feared for Shinki's safety and worried about Konoha's reputation if Shinki were to lose.
If Shinki were injured, he would have a difficult time explaining it to Tsunade. On the other hand, if Shinki lost, it would be a humiliating blow to Konoha, especially after the buildup surrounding his abilities.
After all, the higher the boast, the harder the fall.
The Third Raikage was unbelievably fast—like a streak of lightning. But Shinki, watching him approach, simply smiled faintly.
Fast, huh?
The strongest spear, is it?
And the strongest shield? We'll see.
"Crack! Bang!"
As spectators anxiously wondered how Shinki would handle the Raikage's ferocious attack, an unexpected scene unfolded. The Third Raikage, who had just seemed untouchable, suddenly fell face-first into the ground, leaving a massive crater in his wake.
"..."
The crowd was stunned into silence.
No one was more shocked than Ay, the Raikage's son, who had absolute confidence in his father's strength. His mouth hung open, as though he had witnessed the impossible.
What just happened?
The Third Mizukage turned instinctively to Ōnoki, assuming his sharp eyes would have caught the sequence. But Ōnoki appeared just as bewildered, while the Third Kazekage stood blinking in confusion.
"Did the Raikage make a mistake?"
"That can't be," the Kazekage muttered. "How could someone like him trip on his own?"
The Third Raikage climbed out of the pit, glaring at his left foot with a mixture of confusion and frustration.
Just before his attack landed, a sudden and powerful force had grabbed his foot. Instinctively, he tried to overpower the force with his own strength, but just as quickly as it appeared, the force disappeared, causing him to lose his balance and crash spectacularly.
"What kind of power was that?" he muttered.
The onlookers were equally baffled. Whatever force had interfered was entirely invisible. The Raikage planned to find out through direct combat.
"Enough guessing games!" he roared, charging forward once again.
This time, the invisible power didn't just pull at his foot—it enveloped his entire body. The Raikage froze mid-charge, feeling an immense weight pressing down on him, as though the gravity of the earth itself had multiplied several times over.
Gravity?
Repulsion?
What is this ability?
While the ninja world was filled with rare and surprising bloodline limits, powers related to gravity and repulsion were virtually unheard of. Even those present, veterans of countless battles, couldn't fathom what they were seeing.
What Shinki was using was no ordinary ability—it was a mastery over gravity and repulsion that far exceeded even the capabilities of the Rinnegan. Where Nagato's use of the Rinnegan relied on brute applications like Shinra Tensei and Banshō Ten'in, Shinki demonstrated a finesse and creativity that left his audience dumbfounded.
The Raikage roared in frustration. Activating his full Lightning Chakra Mode, he managed to break free from the oppressive force and launched himself at Shinki like a human missile.
But Shinki didn't flinch. Instead, with a flick of his hand, he manipulated gravity again. This time, the Raikage's incredible speed suddenly increased—far beyond what he could control.
The result was chaos. The Raikage's posture deformed mid-air, and before he could recover, Shinki reversed the gravity, sending him hurtling backward.
"What the…?"
The Third Raikage was utterly bewildered. He wasn't used to being toyed with, and it showed in his increasingly frustrated movements. Every time he charged, Shinki would adjust the gravity around him, throwing him off balance or redirecting him altogether.
For the spectators, it was almost comical. The Raikage, a man known for his unparalleled strength and speed, was being tossed around like a ragdoll.
Finally, the Raikage halted his attack, panting heavily. "Damn it! What kind of power is this?"
Shinki smiled but said nothing, his demeanor calm and unbothered.
The Raikage growled, "You think you're clever, huh? Don't think this is over!"
Charging again, the Raikage pushed himself to his absolute limits. But Shinki's control over gravity and repulsion remained impeccable. Each time, he used subtle shifts to disrupt the Raikage's movements, ensuring he could never get close enough to land a hit.
In a particularly humiliating moment, Shinki let the Raikage accelerate uncontrollably before sending him crashing face-first into the ground once more.
By this point, even the Raikage's son, Ay, couldn't watch anymore. The Third Mizukage and the other Kage were similarly speechless, unsure whether to feel impressed or embarrassed for the Raikage.
Finally, the Raikage stood up, his face red with frustration. He glared at Shinki and muttered, "This is the most disgusting ability I've ever encountered."
Shinki raised an eyebrow but didn't respond. His strategy was clear: there was no need to engage the Raikage directly. Instead, he would keep him at bay, using his powers to frustrate and exhaust him.
The Raikage took a deep breath, trying to calm his anger. But when he moved his foot to charge again, he felt the familiar pull of gravity on his ankle. Growling in frustration, he snarled, "That's it! I'm done!"
To everyone's surprise, the Raikage threw up his hands in surrender. "I'm not doing this anymore. This is ridiculous!"
The crowd fell silent, stunned by the sudden turn of events. Even Shinki looked slightly surprised. He had expected the Raikage to persist longer, but it seemed the older man had reached his limit.
Shinki shrugged, a small smile tugging at his lips. "The strongest spear and shield? Impressive, but it doesn't matter if you can't hit your opponent."
The Raikage scowled but said nothing, walking away with what little dignity he could salvage. For Shinki, the fight had been more of a game than a true battle, but for everyone watching, it was clear: Shinki's abilities were both powerful and utterly infuriating.
