The four villages' representatives sat together, though the atmosphere was far from friendly. Among them, only the Third Mizukage seemed somewhat composed, his age comparable to that of the Third Kazekage. Meanwhile, Chiyo, Onoki, and the Third Raikage were seasoned veterans—old-timers in every sense.
Chiyo glared at the other two. "If you two feel accomplished mocking Sand Village, go ahead. Enjoy yourselves."
She didn't retaliate, not because she lacked the words but because she couldn't afford to. Sand Village's position was weaker compared to the others, and right now, they needed alliances, not conflicts. Chiyo had no choice but to endure.
The Third Mizukage stepped in to ease the tension. "Alright, you two. We're here for a reason. Let's not waste time mocking Sand Village."
Despite the condescending tone, Chiyo appreciated the reprieve. The Third Mizukage's interjection halted the Third Raikage and Onoki's ridicule—for now. Both turned their focus back to the meeting.
The Third Mizukage continued, his voice calm but firm. "Chiyo, you invited us here. Time is precious. If Sand Village has something to share, then let's get to it. Don't waste our time."
Chiyo nodded, pulling out three scrolls. "The village plans to share critical information with all of you. And we're doing it... for free."
The room fell silent as Chiyo handed the scrolls to Onoki, the Third Raikage, and the Third Mizukage. Each took one, their expressions ranging from skepticism to curiosity.
Onoki opened the scroll and quickly scanned its contents. His eyes widened in disbelief. "You're... you're giving away this kind of information? For free? What's wrong with you, Chiyo?"
The Third Raikage's frown deepened as he read. The implications of the intelligence were dire. Meanwhile, the Third Mizukage, who had the least at stake given the geographical distance, appeared unbothered but still intrigued.
Onoki broke the silence, his voice sharp. "No wonder you lost so quickly, Chiyo. Your camp was attacked, morale plummeted, and you had no choice but to retreat. But I'm puzzled—why didn't you take Hyuga Shinki's puppets seriously earlier?"
The question hit a sore spot for Chiyo. "How were we supposed to prepare for something like this?"
"The Sand Village is known for its puppet ninjas," Onoki countered. "You should have recognized the threat earlier. Ignoring it was pure negligence."
Chiyo clenched her fists. "Do you understand the impact of spreading this information among our puppet ninjas? If they learned about Konoha's self-sufficient, autonomous puppets, it would have crushed their morale. Our ninjas would've refused to fight!"
The Third Raikage chimed in, his tone skeptical. "Chiyo, can you confirm the accuracy of this information? Is it reliable?"
Chiyo's expression hardened. "Absolutely. I stake the reputation of my village on it. Onoki can vouch for the validity as well."
All eyes turned to Onoki, who nodded grimly. "She's not lying. These puppets are created by a Konoha ninja named Hyuga Shinki. They're unlike anything we've seen—fully autonomous, capable of independent combat, and devastatingly powerful. We encountered them on the battlefield in the Land of Rain."
He continued, his voice tinged with anger. "These puppets are not only strong but also programmed to self-destruct when dismembered. The explosions are catastrophic."
The Third Mizukage raised an eyebrow. "Self-destructing puppets? Interesting. If one encounters these without prior knowledge, the consequences could be severe."
"Severe?" Chiyo repeated, her tone bitter. "They're a nightmare. When they attack, they don't engage in direct combat. They just detonate. Imagine hundreds of these puppets launched into a camp of thousands. That's exactly what happened to us—our camp was obliterated, and the casualties were devastating."
The Third Raikage's expression grew somber as he imagined the scenario. "You're saying these puppets could be airdropped into a village? That would be catastrophic."
Chiyo nodded. "Exactly. They don't need to target specific ninjas. They just blow up everything—buildings, civilians, you name it. The destruction is indiscriminate."
Onoki's anger flared as Chiyo dropped another bombshell. "And the worst part? These puppets are made from ninja corpses—our corpses, the corpses of my village's ninjas!"
"WHAT?" Onoki roared, slamming his fist on the table. "They're using ninja corpses as materials for these puppets? How dare they?"
The Third Mizukage, typically calm, tilted his head. "Well, aren't you Sand Village folks just as guilty? You use enemy corpses to make puppets all the time."
Onoki immediately turned his wrath on Chiyo. "He's right! You're no better! What gives you the right to complain when you're doing the same thing?"
Chiyo glared at Onoki, but she couldn't refute his point. "We... we don't use them like that. Not for this."
The hypocrisy hung heavy in the air, leaving everyone simmering in their own thoughts. The implications of the intelligence were clear—if Konoha could deploy these puppets in significant numbers, no village would be safe.
