Chapter 108 - Chapter 108

The little yellow-haired boy's template was also based on Senju Tobirama, as he was destined to learn the Flying Thunder God Technique. However, unlike Nawaki, the training template for the little yellow-haired boy was more challenging.

To learn the Flying Thunder God Technique, three requirements were essential: talent for space-time attributes, mastery of sealing techniques, and exceptionally quick reflexes. These were non-negotiable prerequisites.

Was it really that straightforward?

Surely not, Nawaki thought skeptically.

Although Nawaki was proficient in water-style ninjutsu, he preferred the sheer power and electrifying force of lightning-style techniques, which he found far cooler.

"Idiot!"

Shinki's brow furrowed, and he delivered a swift knock to Nawaki's head.

"Your granduncle's water-style techniques struck fear into countless enemies, and you dare to dismiss them?"

"Was he really that strong?" Nawaki mumbled, unsure.

All he knew of his grandfather and granduncle came from stories told by his sister and grandmother. The true extent of their power was still a mystery to him.

This kid is hopeless, Shinki thought as he rubbed his temples. He threw a kunai, which embedded itself in a tree trunk dozens of meters away.

"Use Water Chaos Wave on that tree trunk."

"I know that one."

Nawaki beamed as he formed the seals. "Water Style: Water Chaos Wave!"

A stream of water, about as thick as a baby's arm, shot out of Nawaki's mouth and hit the tree trunk, stripping away some bark and nudging the embedded kunai slightly.

Minato Namikaze watched intently, his eyes wide with curiosity.

"How was that?" Nawaki turned, eager for praise.

Shinki sighed and palmed his forehead. "Promise me you'll never admit that Senju Tobirama is your granduncle."

Nawaki: "???"

What did that even mean?

"Watch closely." Shinki guided Nawaki's head back to face the target. He performed the same jutsu, but instead of a thick stream, a slender water jet, as thin as a finger, burst forth at high speed.

*Thud.*

The thin jet pierced cleanly through the trunk, leaving a small hole all the way through.

Is that even possible? Nawaki's eyes nearly popped out, and Minato was just as stunned.

A thin water jet that could pierce a tree—if it struck a human, it would easily create a deep wound.

"Did you see that?" Shinki said sternly. "Tobirama's water-style techniques were feared because he compressed his jutsu for maximum power and minimal chakra use. His spit alone could be deadlier than the kunai you throw."

"…" Nawaki's face flushed with embarrassment. Spit stronger than my kunai? How insulting!

"Train hard and learn to control the nature of water chakra. You can do it," Shinki encouraged, leaving Nawaki, who was beginning to question his life choices, to focus on Minato.

"Your training is different, Minato. Don't envy Nawaki's ninjutsu. It doesn't matter for you. Follow the path I've set, and you can learn these techniques when needed."

"Yes, sensei."

Minato was obedient and diligent, training tirelessly even in heavy rain. He built his foundation without complaint, unlike Nawaki, who wanted to sprint before he could walk.

"Shinki, if I can control the nature of water chakra, I can compress my jutsu, right?"

"Why did you hit me?!"

"Just felt like it. If you're not convinced, hit me back."

"Ow! Stop hitting me!"

"Train, or I'll keep hitting you!"

Shinki could easily control the nature of water chakra, but Nawaki struggled, showing he had much to learn.

"Shinki, busy as usual."

Nara Shikashin approached, holding an iron rod. He chuckled as he handed it over. "Here, thought I'd drop by. Isn't it excessive to discipline kids with this?"

Shinki weighed the rod and grinned. "They're wild; discipline helps."

Right, Nawaki?

Nawaki shivered, resuming his intense training, eyes on the rod. He feared Shinki's discipline more than any enemy.

"Stupid! Master the rhythm! You can't even get Water Chaos Wave right?"

"No way, there's someone who can't control basic water jutsu?"

Nara Shikashin observed, amused. Nawaki was skilled for his age, but under Shinki, he was treated like a rookie.

Seeing Minato and Nawaki working hard in the rain, Shikashin briefly considered bringing his own son to join. He shook his head—his lazy son wouldn't survive Shinki's training.

"Keep control of your rhythm. On the battlefield, enemies will try to break it. You must own it."

"What are you staring at? Want a hit too?"

Nawaki felt crushed, while Minato kept training, fearful of making mistakes.

"Ah!" Nawaki yelped as Shinki smacked him, sending him jumping a few feet, clutching his stinging rear. With Shinki's raised hand as a warning, he gritted his teeth and resumed training.

Regret washed over Nawaki. Yesterday, he'd been eager; now, he wished he'd stayed back in the village to help in the morgue.

Everything hurt, especially his pride.

Shinki turned to Shikashin. "Senior, did you need something?"
