Chapter 7 - Don't Bother Me

Astaroth frowned, angry, for the first time he wished Baal would just disappear, and regretted bringing her to his father's palace. He huffed in irritation– Good morning to you too, dad. – he says and walks towards the dining room.

Baal knew that his friend was not a morning person, so he just ignored his behavior. Meanwhile, Lucifer's eyes were focused on the woman in front of him, as if he was mesmerized.

Satan raised an eyebrow— This damn boy, why is he always like this?!— He ran his fingers through his strands of hair and sighed, looking at Lucifer and Baal, chatting casually. He rolls his eyes and sighs once more, knowing that it wouldn't be worth it to compete against the king.

The three of them went to the dining room, where Astaroth was already drinking his bitter coffee. The young master did not have a serious and thoughtful expression, Satan soon sat down and pretended not to have noticed Astaroth.

The table was full of snacks, mint green color juice, strange cakes and light laughter coming from Lucifer and Baal. The old Lord also fell silent and quietly observed the young man beside him. The scars on Astaroth's face made Satan return to the past for a moment.

Astaroth was around 26 years old and still a demon child when he first saw the deadly sin of wrath. He was playing with his father when Satan had teleported to the throne room, the young demon froze as he felt Satan's overwhelming presence. The child quickly ran to Lucifer's room, he felt his chest heavy and for a moment he forgot how to breathe, He entered Lucifer's closet and hid in his clothes. The young Astaroth cried desperately, he thought Satan was going to kill him as soon as the Lord looked through his soul.

When Lucifer went after the child he had adopted, he found the little one's skeleton wings and horns wrapped around his own body, piercing his skin, causing some deep wounds and others that were lighter, which would also leave scars. From that day on, Satan was forbidden to return to the king's palace while Astaroth was still a child.

Did you lose something? – Astaroth says irritated with Satan since the old Lord was staring at the young man without even blinking.

What?– Satan woke up from his trance.

You've been staring at me for a while now, I'm going to have indigestion because of you, old man. - the young man says and then takes a sip of his coffee.

Oh? Have you finally stopped avoiding me?– the Lord returned with his sarcastic tone, he reached out and touched the scar that was near Astaroth's eyes. Satan thought that the young man would turn his face away, but he didn't.

Astaroth let out a low sigh as Satan's fingers caressed his scar.– I still hate you...

I know.– Satan slowly approached until his lips met Astaroth's, the two completely forgot that Lucifer and Baal were in the dining room with them.

The young master felt a strange relief when the old Lord kissed him, he pulled Satan close, kissing him deeply, in a slow and passionate rhythm. When Astaroth separates from Satan to breathe, he notices the shocked look on Baal's face and the king looking at the two with disbelief and a bit of disgust.

Have mercy on me Astaroth, don't do that again in front of me, or I'll end up ripping my eyes out.– Lucifer says and then drinks some of his tea made with infernal roses.

Well, I didn't know you and Satan were something. – Baal says emphasizing Satan's name and looks at Astaroth.

We don't.– the young master stated .

Oh, really? – Baal asked in a mocking tone.

Uh-huh.– Astaroth nodded.

The room falls into a deep and strange silence, only the clatter of dishes could be heard for a few minutes that seemed like an eternity. Until Lucifer faked a light cough to get everyone's attention and said.– So... Satan, how long are you going to stay here?

"I don't know" could be an answer?– the Lord looked at the king with an indifferent expression.

No.– Lucifer crosses his arms and sighs.

Until the war is over then. I can keep working next to you in your office, isn't that great? – Satan says with a big bright smile.

Horrifying. I don't like having someone disturbing me daily.– the king looks at Astaroth who was listening attentively to their conversation.– Do you have something to say?

No– the young master looked away.–, perhaps…– he looks at his father again.– Did you have an argument with Asmodeus? You two haven't spoken much since the ball that Satan. He used to visit us often, I miss him.

There's no need to worry about that, nothing happened between me and Asmodeus." Despite Lucifer saying that, his body stiffened and he frowned slightly, but he tried to act casually.

I see...– Astaroth notices his father's uneasiness but decides to leave this subject for another time. Suddenly, he feels one of his horns being pulled.– Fuck! What the hell are you doing?!

Why were you ignoring me before, huh? Satan asked with a serious face, but his voice was gentle.

That doesn't suit you.– the young master shoves the old man's hands away.

I spent a month wondering if I had done something wrong and this is what answers me? – he pokes Astaroth's sides.

I'm not in the mood. – the young man omits the truth, since he himself doesn't know how to say why he ignored Satan.

Brat.– he lets go of Astaroth's horn and sighs softly.
