Chapter 6 - CHAPTER 6 ; Dark aura

Inside the beautifully furnished mansion, Elijah stood by the window, gazing out at the view. His hand rested in his pocket, while the other held a glass of crimson liquid. The room was elegantly decorated, with a king-sized bed at its center. Soft classical music filled the air.

A young man of average height entered, bowing deeply. "Your Highness."

Elijah sipped his drink, savoring the taste of cold blood. "Alex," he called out, his eyes remaining fixed on the view.

"Yes, Your Highness?" Alex replied.

"That witch... Keep an eye on her," Elijah instructed, his tone firm.

Alex hesitated, "Understood, Your Highness."

Elijah sensed Alex's unspoken question. "Speak now!" he commanded, irritation lacing his voice.

Alex bowed deeper. "Forgive me, Your Highness, but why did you lie?"

Elijah's lips curled into a sly smile. "Remind me to warn her to guard her mind around demons."

He had deceived Rose, claiming someone was hunting her. In reality, he had only noticed her that day, in the cafeteria with her friends. Her thoughts had caught his attention - vivid dreams and a dark aura surrounding her.

It was not his fault that she had mistaken him for a vampire. He was nothing of the sort. Those peasant creatures, all they do is reed humans of their blood and show their rotten fangs.

Elijah clicked his tongue, not liking the fact that he was mistaken for a creature lower than him.

His mind went back to Rose.

"A white witch shouldn't have that aura," Elijah thought. It reminded him of his homeland.

"You sensed it too, didn't you?" Elijah asked Alex.

"Yes, Your Highness. The dark aura, like a coat... reminding me of home."

Alex's craving for power was palpable. Elijah sighed, recognizing the demon's nature.

"The power might not even be hers," Elijah said thoughtfully.

Alex looked puzzled. "What do you mean, Your Highness?"

Elijah dismissed the question. "Never mind."

He turned back to the window, sipping his drink. The red liquid clung to his lips, and he licked them clean.

"How's Hell?" Elijah asked after a moment.

Alex reported, "The king has sent high-ranking demons to retrieve the escaped ones. Some have been caught, but others remain loose."

Elijah smiled mockingly. "He must be busy."

"What about our sister?" Elijah asked, a warm smile on his face.

Alex replied cautiously, "Helping His Majesty, the king, as usual."

Elijah's voice softened. "I see...I miss her."

Alex's eyes softened, knowing Elijah's feelings.

"Am sure Her highness misses you too".

But Elijah's expression shifted, his smirk returning. Eyes squinting with mischief "I doubt it."

He downed the remaining liquid and placed the glass on a nearby table. Approaching the door, he stopped.

"Lest I forget... Touch a strand of the little witch's hair, and your pretty little horns will drop to the ground, followed by your heart."

Elijah's cold words hung in the air as he exited.

As Elijah walked out of the mansion, his mind lingered on Rose and the mysterious dark aura surrounding her. His determination to uncover its source grew.

Meanwhile, Alex remained in the room, his thoughts consumed by the warning Elijah had given him. He shuddered at the thought of facing the little witch's power.

Outside, Elijah strolled through the university campus, blending seamlessly into the crowd. His eyes scanned the area, searching for Rose.

Suddenly, he spotted her walking with friends, laughing and carefree. Elijah's gaze locked onto hers, and he smiled.
