Kai sighed, as he looked at Lin's back. It was freezing cold in the cave, for they had not been able to start a fire. It was raining outside, a lightning flashing in the sky every so often.
And yet, Kai could not snuggle next to Lin. Could not bury his nose in soft pink tresses. Could not let Lin's heartbeat lull him to sleep.
"Please Karma, if you are listening," Kai thought to himself, not really expecting anything, but still wanting to try. "Let him forgive me."
The wish was straight from the heart. A single lock of Karma's hair turned black.

Amos was bewitched by a single curl. Karma's normally straight hair had curled up during his stay by his ex-husband, whose divorce papers were gathering dust somewhere in Amos' office.
The curl was black. Not gray, like Amos' hair was, but a vibrant black color. Just like it used to be, so long ago. Back before there was a Karma.
