The thing about the gnome work camps was, as Lin soon found out, that there was too little light and too much sugar to go around. Kai was on a sugar high, Battlepaws was in a corner, rubbing his face against a bag with catnip, and Karma was eating cookies.
Lin had almost not recognized the man as he saw him, but the curly mop had given him away.
And so, Lin decided that things could not continue as they were. For if the gnomes did not do anything apart from making their teeth fall off, then no one was going to go back to Mirstone.
Lin was Fate. Fate and Strive had come for the lazy gnomes.
"Cups down!" Lin said, his voice booming. No one paid him any attention. "Strive, if you would be so kind?"
The black wind elemental made the rounds around the mine, taking away cups of cocoa and cookies from sticky hands.
"Hey, what gives?" One gnome yelled, his mouth full of something that might have been a marshmallow or a cookie, Lin did not know.
