The players started awakening their talents, and loud exclamations resounded across the whole mountain.
"I got a C-Rank Talent! Is that bad? Am I cooked chat?" said, a teenager with broccoli hair.
"You got a C-rank talent and you are cooked? Then what am I? Burnt?" said a man, with an E-rank talent.
The man flying looked at the young man who spoke and said to him.
"A C-Rank talent, you are what we call a survivor. You aren't special, nor are you weak. You are just there… Existing." He said, with a smile on his face.
The teenager with the C-rank talent initially was just looking for some attention, but his face paled after hearing what the man said.
"The real talents start from B-Rank, this is where you can start to make a difference."
"There is one in a hundred thousand chances, that one is born with a B-Rank talent and one in a million to be born with an A-Rank talent."
"SS-Rank is an exception, as only one person per race can have it."
"If anyone in your batch has a B-Rank, then you are considered a good batch. Especially since you are from Earth."
"Now that the awakening ceremony has been done, you will soon be transported to the village."
"See you another time," He grinned, as they were all teleported away.
Arthur teleported with everyone else to the village, he was still shocked by the reveal of his talent.
He paid no heed to his surroundings, as he knew that he was teleported to a safe zone. His main focus was the holographic screen in front of him.
SSS-Rank Talent: Primordial Summoner
Talent Effect #1: You are able to summon primordial beasts once every 2 months. Your summoned beasts level up with you.
Talent Effect #2: You are able to 'extract' one talent/Skill from your beast, and keep it as your own.
Talent Effect #3: You are able to summon any beast you have killed as your own summon.
Talent Effect #4: *%"$& (Level up to unlock)
…
NOTE: The amount of summons = Level. (Lvl.1 = 1 summon)
"What the f**k! This is so overpowered," Arthur almost jumped up in joy when he read it, but alas, there was a crowd around him.
After reading through his talent effects countless times, his heartbeats finally returned to a normal rhythm.
Looking at the village around him, it looked like a small village from the medieval era.
There were many players around, that were trying to find 'Hidden' missions, but they all failed miserably.
"Hey, beauty. My name is Sigma, do you need any help?" a player asked a female npc, with a smug look on his face.
The female npc glanced at him in disgust and continued to do her work.
"Come on beauty, I know you like that chiseled jawline." He said as he pointed at the sharp edge of his boxy head.
"What an idiot, she is clearly not interested. He is the type of guy to keep begging his ex to go back together." Arthur muttered as he glanced at him in disgust.
He decided to ignore the players around him, every minute counts in this place.
He had to take advantage of his talent, he needed to come back to inform Charlotte too.
[Newbie Pack Gifted: Wooden sword (Common).]
After checking it out, it was just a normal wooden sword. There was nothing special about it, he placed it back in his inventory and started exploring.
"In these types of games, the hidden quests are always with the old men. If I can find one, I can test this theory out." He thought as he looked for a mysterious-looking old man.
Soon he found one, a drunk old man at the side of a small house.
"Hey old man, do you need any help?" Arthur asked as he glanced at the old man.
"Shh, go away from here. I don't need any help," He said, as he shooed him away with his hands.
"Are you sure?" He asked a final time to check.
"Yes, yes. I'm Su-" He hiccuped mid-sentence.
Arthur shrugged his shoulders, as he turned around and started exploring the village.
The village wasn't big by any means, he could see some forest surrounding the village with his naked eye.
"This is probably the danger zone, this is where everyone is farming for levels right now." He thought as he noted down the surrounding area.
Arthur decided that he was done checking the village, there were all kinds of shops. There were potions shops, which restored your health points and Mana points.
There were blacksmiths, there were merchants, and everything you would expect in a game was there.
Arthur then pressed the log-out button, he needed to reassure Charlotte first.
After logging out, Arthur felt the same void tearing as before.
Instantly appearing in the same spot he was before, he shocked Charlotte who got jolted up from his sudden appearance.
"Sorry to scare you, I just wanted to let you know that I'm fine. The game isn't as serious so you don't have to worry about me, if someone dies in the game they re-spawn so nothing is dangerous."
"I need to get back to the world, as every minute that passes makes me behind."
Charlotte nodded, her face much more relaxed than before.
After thanking Arthur for reassuring her, she waved him goodbye.
"See you!" He said, as he teleported back into the world.
...
"Time to summon a bad boy!" Arthur muttered silently, as he found a secluded area with no players.
"Arise!" He said.
Slowly but surely… nothing happened.
"What the hell! Why are they not being summoned!" He muttered in frustration.
After checking his talent out, it seemed that he needed to set a word for the summoning.
"Rise and shine? Hmm no, I am not waking up."
"Arise? Nah, that's too cliche."
"Awaken. That's it." Arthur nodded, proud of his naming.
[Word Chosen: Awaken.]
"Let's try again," Arthur muttered, as he took a deep breath preparing for the summoning of a primordial, ancient and powerful beast.
"Awaken!" Arthur shouted in an excited tone, this was his ticket to the top after all.
A portal appeared from the floor, it looked incredibly menacing and powerful.
Energy crackled in anticipation, of the awakening.
[First Summon Detected! A Primordial beast had been summoned!]
"Oh yeah boy, I summoned something powerful!" Arthur excitedly said as he waited for the beast to appear.
Soon enough, a creature appeared.
Looking at the creature in front of him Arthur's face turned gloomy.
"WTF, Is this a glitch in this shitty world!" He said as he glanced at the creature in front of him.
