"Tot Musica..." Uta murmured the name of the demon king softly, instinctively reaching out to touch the sheet music. But Luffy swiftly pulled it back, not intending to let her handle it. Telling her about it was simply a precaution; she needed to know not to sing from any mysterious score that happened to appear.
Young Uta wasn't particularly dangerous if she tried, given her limited stamina and the powerful presence of Shanks by her side. But a fully grown Uta, powerful and fused with Tot Musica—that was a true force of destruction, the embodiment of a world-ending song.
"Fine… I get it, Luffy! I won't sing Tot Musica. You don't have to worry!" Uta promised, her tone firm.
Luffy nodded, satisfied. Uta was good-hearted, and upon hearing about the catastrophic potential of Tot Musica, she had no desire to unleash such a song. Now, all that remained was for him to keep an eye out for any unusual behavior from the score, ready to destroy it if it ever tried to lure her again.
With that, the conversation came to an end. Uta let her hands drop and lay back on her bed, blinking her wide violet eyes as she swung her legs idly. With a soft thud, she kicked off her shoes and socks, revealing smooth, fair feet, her toes daintily painted a youthful pink.
Luffy's heart started to race, and his stomach growled in response. He was grateful that he'd learned to draw—it allowed him to capture beautiful moments like these, immortalizing them beyond the reach of fading memories.
...
"Time to party!" The pirates' jubilant cheers echoed across the deck, the entire ship vibrating with excitement. They brought out food from the galley, and the aroma of grilled meat filled the air.
Luffy's stomach growled again, reminding him that it was mealtime.
"Come on, let's go eat!" Uta laughed, hopping off the bed and adjusting her skirt, which swayed to cover half her slender thighs. She quickly slipped on her wooden sandals and threw open the door.
As dusk settled and stars began to dot the sky, the pirates lit torches around the large cooking pot on deck. While they had electric lights on the ship, nothing matched the festive atmosphere of torchlight for a celebration.
Following closely behind Uta, Luffy's mouth watered as he eyed the tender cuts of sea king meat, exuding their savory aroma.
Pulling out a massive bone roasted to crispy perfection, Luffy tore off a piece of the golden-brown skin, savoring the rich, smoky flavor as a feeling of pure bliss washed over him.
"Luffy, this is delicious!" Uta teased, holding a small piece of meat near his mouth, only to pull it away at the last second and eat it herself with a giggle. "Nope, not for you!"
Around them, the pirates laughed, ate, and shared stories in the warm glow of the fire. The meal lasted for hours, carrying them into the deep night.
After washing her hands, Uta hurried to the center of the still-bustling crowd of pirates. Luffy, on the other hand, was trying to persuade the crew to let him taste some alcohol—something Miss Makino back in Foosha Village had never allowed.
The pirates burst out laughing as Luffy made his request, wrapping their arms around him as the smell of rum filled his nose.
"Come on, kid. Wait until you're a bit older to drink!"
"Everyone, Uta's about to sing for us!" one of the pirates shouted, catching sight of her approaching.
"It's been ages since we heard Uta sing!" another exclaimed, excitement lighting up his face.
As Uta began to sing, the environment around them shifted. They found themselves transported to a grand music hall, with rows of empty seats stretching before them. Uta had activated the power of her Song-Song Fruit, pulling the entire crew into her dream world.
For a moment, the pirates stood there in a daze, then looked around in awe.
"So this is the spirit world? Everything feels so real!"
They marveled, touching the walls and glancing around, soon realizing they were on the music stage from Elegia.
Uta appeared in an outfit even more vibrant than before. A large, intricate heart design was painted across her chest, and a smaller, winged heart adorned her bare shoulder.
Luffy's jaw dropped as he stared at her attire, instantly recognizing the demon crest he had once painted himself. Seeing it on her clothing, especially in a public setting, filled him with a mixture of shock and dread.
The pirates, however, thought nothing of it. They had no understanding of the crest's dark implications, only seeing it as a charming design that complemented her outfit.
Uta gave Luffy a playful smile, but he could feel a chill run down his spine. Fortunately, no one here understood the nature of dark powers or demonic symbols—thank goodness her stomach was free of any markings.
"Is this a private concert for us?" the pirates roared with delight.
With a smile, Uta conjured bursts of musical notes that transformed into candy and meat, raining treats down on the audience.
Luffy grabbed a piece of roast meat and sat back in his seat, taking a big bite. Well, if this was happening, he might as well enjoy himself.
Back in the real world, he was already full, but here in the dream, he could indulge endlessly.
"This is amazing! Way to go, Uta!" The pirates cheered, feeling immense pride in her strength. The Song-Song Fruit's powers were indeed extraordinary; anyone with this ability could easily make a name for themselves in the world—even in the chaotic seas of the New World.
Uta's enchanting voice filled the air, lifting the crew's spirits with each song. Luffy patted his pocket, reassured by the presence of the crumpled score. Tot Musica remained quiet and still. If it continued to behave, he'd stash it somewhere safe and out of reach.
One song after another, Uta's voice wove a magical atmosphere. The pirates, who hadn't heard her sing in ages, immediately noticed how her voice had grown even more beautiful.
"It's true, every ship needs a musician!" Shanks laughed, his face beaming with pride.
Her song finished, Uta jumped down into Shanks's arms. "Shanks, wasn't that amazing?"
"Yes, it was. Uta's voice is the most beautiful I've ever heard," Shanks replied, his agreement genuine.
"Your voice brings happiness to everyone."
"Shanks," she said with a determined look. "I have an amazing plan. I, Uta, want to bring happiness to everyone in the world!"
Her eyes sparkled with childlike innocence as she explained her vision. "Shanks, when I become the world's top musician, I'm going to pull everyone into my world, where they can live in peace and happiness forever. How about that?"
"And what about the real world?" Shanks asked, his brow furrowing slightly.
"The real world, with all its pain and boredom, can be left behind, of course!" she said with an unwavering smile
.
Shanks looked at his daughter, bewildered.
