I blinked, taken aback. "Wait a minute what? The system's not supposed to talk!" I muttered, glancing around as if expecting some kind of explanation to pop up from thin air. But nothing. It was just me, alone, facing a screen that should have been nothing more than a standard status update.
Yet here it was alive, almost sentient. This was not how I remembered it. The system had always been a simple tool for tracking progress, not... this. What the heck was going on?
The confusion was overwhelming. I stared at the screen, which continued to glow with that eerie blue light. After a moment of silence, I finally gathered my thoughts enough to speak.
"What... What exactly is a Catalyst?" I asked, hoping the system might offer some clarity. I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong no, off about all of this.
I waited, my finger hovering over the console in anticipation. For a brief second, I thought I saw a flicker on the screen, but then... nothing.
Then, without warning, the system responded but not with an explanation, not with a hint of what a Catalyst might mean. Instead, the screen shifted, displaying a title in bold, all-caps letters:
"LORD OF EMPTINESS"
[■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■] Progress: 19.6%
I blinked. The progress bar was strangely precise, filling about one-fifth of the way. And yet, the more I stared at it, the less sense it made. I wasn't reading a normal system status screen anymore. This was something... different. Something else.
"What does that mean? Lord of Emptiness? That was the title of novel I was reading and from the looks of the one I was in."
What does the progress mean? At the end of the novel of the novel the Outer gods descended from the astral plan and consumed all of creation does that mean we r one-fifth of the way to the end of world?
Although the system didn't grace me with response but left me wondering, but I didn't manage to confirm anything came up with a few hypothesis but didn't come up with any answers.
Since it was pointless to question more I decided to press on more pressing problems.
Looking back at my status and closing the page showing the story progress since that was leading me no where

From the looks of it I am a fairly strong and talented student.
But 2 elements that was unheard of even the main character mortis the chosen one of the world only had one element although to be fair that one element was stronger than any other element in existence.
But I had two of the rarest Space and Time. If anyone found out, I wouldn't be seen as some ordinary student. I'd be hunted, studied, maybe even locked away.

Talent: B+
Profession: Swordsman
Element: Space
Looking at my student ID it seems like the original element of this body was Space and Time was somehow transferred to this body along with me.
Taking a closer look at my ID I was in same program as main cast but at least I am not weak I am a fairly strong and talented student that combined with the space element would be challenge for any student other than the effectively undefeatable mortis.
But this would not be nearly enough for the later arcs let alone the END.
I needed to increase my talent somehow but for the time being B+ would do at least I think it will.
The bigger problem was that. I had this body, this status, but no memories to go with it. If there was a previous owner of this body, I had no clue who he was or what he knew. if he had a family his friends but I also couldn't let it be known I had taken over this body. Dammit why couldn't it be like novels where u conveniently get the original owners memories. I don't even have the sword skills or magic he could do.
I was basically a superhuman who has no clue what he is doing.
Thinking of things to do I should check when the Academy Entrance Ceremony.
As I thought about what to do next, a notification buzzed from my phone. I grabbed it, noting how it didn't even have a password. The previous owner of this body sure was careless, but right now, it worked in my favor.

🔔 Entrance Ceremony Reminder: The ceremony begins in 10 minutes! Location: Grand Hall, Main Building Don't be late, Kai!
"Oh, crap!" I cursed. I wasn't about to miss the entrance ceremony the one where all the new students would be introduced to the academy. Worse, I couldn't risk drawing attention to myself this early, especially not with the secrets I was hiding.
Scrambling, I pulled on the midnight blue academy uniform, hastily fastening the buttons as I slung my sword over my back. The weight of it felt familiar, like the body knew how to use it even if I didn't. I had no time to think about that now.
I bolted out of the room, racing through the corridors. My mind was spinning, not just about the ceremony but about everything. The system, my strange status, the fact that I had somehow taken over this body without gaining its memories. I wasn't just a stranger in a new world—I was a stranger in my own skin.
And if I didn't figure things out quickly, someone was bound to notice.
With the entrance ceremony only minutes away, I sprinted toward the Grand Hall, hoping I could at least blend in with the other students. For now, keeping a low profile was my best shot at survival.
But deep down, I knew that with the rare dual elements of Space and Time, hiding would only work for so long.
